Medfield Selectmen to Further Discuss Mailbox Replacement Policy, State Hospital Update

Medfield Board of Selectmen meeting will be held at Town Hall tonight at 7 p.m. on the second floor in the Chenery Room.

The Medfield Board of Selectmen will continue discussion of the town's mailbox replacement policy and continue to review the Medfield State Hospital site checklist as selectman Mark Fisher is expected back after his May 3 absence.

At that May 3 meeting, Selectmen chair Osler Peterson, selectman Ann Thompson, Town Administrator Michael Sullivan, Town Counsel Mark Cerel and Assistant Town Administrator Kristine Trierweiler heard Medfield resident Joe Collins' complaint regarding the when damaged by town snow plows. Among suggestions were putting the issue on next year's Town Warrant, enabling residents to vote on whether to pay for damaged mailboxes or not. Trierweiler researched what other towns in the area had for a policy and named offered a few possibilities. The selectmen and town administration are expected to discuss this issue further at Tuesday's meeting.

At the May 3 meeting, SHERC provided the selectmen with an update of the former Medfield State Hospital site and offered revisions to the checklist as well as sections of the checklist that needed to be addressed by Cerel. The selectmen will continue to review the checklist and announce DCAM will hold a PIP meeting on Thursday, May 26 from 7 to 9 p.m. in Town Hall.
