When Will Green Street be Repaved?

Green Street will be temporarily paved in the fall, and could receive a final coat within a year.

Town officials say Green Street will be temporarily paved in the early fall.

"Then the areas that were dug up will have to settle over the winter, before a permanent paving is put down," said Town Administrator Michael Sullivan. "This will be done as part of a reconstruction of Green Street from North Street to just beyond Summer Street."

Sullivan said the final repaving (to include sidewalks along Green Street up to Hinkley Pond) should take place within a year, depending on when the project receives approval from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for the use of Chapter 90 highway funds, and when necessary easements can be obtained.
