State Rep. Denise Garlick Hosts “Representative’s Community Report"

Medfield's State Representative, Denise Garlick, 13th Norfolk District, will host a “Representative’s Community Report to Medfield” tonight at 7 p.m. at the Medfield Town House.

The report, a first of its kind, welcomes constituents to voice their questions and concerns. All community members are invited.

“As an elected representative, I am responsible and accountable to all the people of our District," Garlick said. "I have been working hard to deliver results for the residents, the Town of Medfield and the Commonwealth. I look forward to sharing the experiences and the results.”

Garlick will report on work that impacts the three towns of the district, and Medfield specifically.

The discussion will include:

  • Legislation enacted in 2011 and pending.
  • Budget priorities: impacts and concerns.
  • Actions and activities of the Committees on which she serves: Joint Committee for Health Care Financing, Joint Committee on Education, and Joint Committee for Public Health.
  • Constituent services.

The event has been organized as a means to share information with community members about Garlick’s work, accomplishments and goals and to provide input for Garlick in prioritizing issues and concerns important to Medfield residents.  Garlick has encouraged all members of the community to participate and sent a privately paid mailing to every household about the event.

The evening’s agenda will be:

  • 7 to 7:30 p.m. - Reception
  • 7:30 to 8 p.m. - Report to the Community
  • 8 to 8:30 p.m. - Questions and Discussion

The discussion will include goals for 2012 and beyond.

“I want people to know that I share their concerns and that I am working to find solutions that are effective for our children, families, seniors and veterans. Whatever is important to you is important to me to understand and discuss” said Garlick.

Garlick, a Registered Nurse, former Vice-Chair of the Needham Board of Selectmen, and former Chair of the Needham Board of Health, was first elected to the Massachusetts General Court in 2010.
