DeSorgher is Frustrated with NSTAR

DeSorgher says Medfield tells NSTAR the town is not getting any respect and calls for meeting with Department of Public Utilities.

Selectman Richard DeSorgher is frustrated with NSTAR and the utility company's lace of response to requests from the Town of Medfield.

"It's just very, very frustrating that we can't get proper service out of NSTAR," DeSorgher told NSTAR representative Christine Cosby who attended the Aug. 6 meeting of the Board of Selectmen.

Cosby said she would relay the board's frustrations to the company for its response.

Among DeSorgher's issues with NSTAR are:

  • A utility pole on the site of the town garage which is holding up progress of the $10 million project
  • Double poles that are scattered throughout town. They are supposed to be removed within 90 days and have been up for years. There is no penalty for utility companies if they do not adhere to the law.
  • Large coils of wire that are hanging low on poles creating a safety hazard
  • Temporary utility boxes that have been in town since Hurricane Sandy
