Agenda: Selectmen to Reorganize Board and Review Town's Vehicle Accident Reports

The Medfield Board of Selectmen meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Town Hall.

The Medfield Board of Selectmen is expected to reorganize its board and vote to name selectman Ann Thompson chair. The selectmen rotate chairs annually, typically at the first meeting following Town Election.

Following the board's reorganization, it will hold the following public hearings:

  • Comcast Cable will meet with the selectmen to request to solicit services in the town of Medfield.
  • A street hearing will be held to discuss Kettle Pond and Cole Drive.
  • Medfield Police Chief Robert E. Meaney Jr. will present and discuss the town's motor vehicle accident reports and traffic violations.

Following the public hearings, the board is expected to vote to authorize the selectmen chair to sign the Certificate of Election for Town Clerk Carol Mayer.

  • Medfield Youth Soccer requests permission to post signs advertising registration for fall soccer season. Sings would be in place from April 15 to May 6.
  • The First Parish Church is planning a spring fundraiser for Saturday, May 5 from 7 to 11 p.m. and requests a one-day, wine and malt beverage license.
  • Medfield Green requests permission to post signs advertising Medfield Green Day on May 5.

The selectmen will also hear an update on the Medfield State Hospital, which will likely include a discussion on the town participating in mediation with DCAM regarding the environmental cleanup of the property, the potential sale of the property to the town.

The Board of Selectmen meets every first and third Tuesday of each month on the second floor of at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and broadcasted on Medfield TV.
