Agenda: Selectmen to Discuss Energy Program, State Hospital and Cultural District

The Medfield Board of Selectmen meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. on the second floor of Town Hall.

The Medfield Board of Selectmen are expected to discuss the Sagewell Mass Thermal Energy Program with Energy Committee member Fred Davis.

The program is part of the town's effort to increase energy efficiency information available to its residents. The selectmen have been asked by the town's Energy Committee to encourage Sagewell, Inc. to "conduct a street-level thermal heat loss measurement and analysis program in the winter of 2011-2012 and make the results of the review available to building owners for the purpose of upgrading the energy efficiency of their homes and buildings," according to the material the selectmen will review and discuss with Davis.

  • The selectmen received an invitation from Troop 10 to attend the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony for Daniel J. Piersiak on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. at the United Church of Christ.
  • Medfield Cultural District requests the selectmen vote to authorize chairman Osler Peterson to execute a resolution stating the town wishes to pursue a state-authorized cultural district.
  • DPW Superintendent Ken Feeney recommends the selectmen  vote to award the bid for tree work to Davey Tree Expert Company on a one-year contract.

The selectmen will also hear an update on the Medfield State Hospital, which includes the upcoming PIP meeting to be held on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. and letters regarding the proposed unsound porch removal at buildings 1, 11, 12, 14, 15 and 17 of the site.

The Board of Selectmen meet every first and third Tuesday of each month on the second floor of at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and broadcasted on Medfield TV.
