There will also be further discussion on the remediation work proposed to be done at the Medfield State Hospital site and the current status of DCAM’s pending permit for its proposed work, which the town does not agree with as it is seeking a permanent solution to clean up the oil in the Charles River at the C&D site of the State Hospital property. DCAM has proposed a temporary solution to “cap” the oil, which the town deems unnecessary because the oil has been in the water for decades and would not impose an immediate threat to the town’s water supply. A more permanent solution is necessary, according to the town, because it will reduce, if not eliminate, any long-term health risks to Medfield residents.

The Board of Selectmen meet every first and third Tuesday of each month on the second floor of at 7 p.m. The meetings are open to the public and broadcasted on Medfield TV.
