UPDATE: Black Bear Found in Brookline Tree, Trucked Away

After last night's chase and thunderstorm, Brookline Police found the bear sleeping in a tree in South Brookline this morning. The bear was first spot in Medfield.

The black bear who was first spot in Medfield ended up in Brookline.

[Update 5: Twitter reports that the bear has been loaded into a truck and transported from the scene. 10:10 a.m.]

[Update 4: According to Eileen Curran on Twitter, the bear is a young, 200 lb black bear, who has been tranquilized and is awaiting a truck to take him "out west." He is okay after falling out of the tree. 9:58 a.m.]

[Update 2: Twitter reports indicate that Police have tranquilized the bear. 9:33 a.m.]

[Update: Police are closing down Hammond Street around the bear to cut down on traffic. 9:25 a.m.]

After following reports of a black bear through the storm last night, Brookline Police have tracked it to a tree on Pine Road. 

Environmental Police are on scene with bucket trucks and a front end loader in to get the bear down from the tree, according to @TheBelloBlotter on Twitter.
