UPDATED: Charges Dropped for Two Medfield Teens Arrested After Allegedly Entering Garage

Charges were dropped on Sept. 28 after two Medfield teens appeared in court after being arrested on multiple charges on July 28 after allegedly entering a resident's garage on Hearthstone Drive, according to police reports.

UPDATED on Oct. 4: Charges were dropped for the two teens arrested after allegedly entering a garage on Hearthstone Drive on July 28th, according to Medfield Chief of Police Robert Meaney Jr. "The charges were withdrawn by the court [Sept. 30]," Meaney said. The teens appeared in Dedham District Court on Sept. 28. As a result of the court's decision, the names of these individuals were removed from this article.

Aug. 2: Medfield Police arrested two Medfield teenagers on July 28 after a woman called to report “kids running” from her garage at her Hearthstone Drive residence, according to police reports.

The teens were allegedly seen running from the woman’s garage and into their vehicle just before 10 p.m., according to police reports.

“The youths [went] to a car and [drove] away but a neighbor had already taken note of the license plate,” said Medfield Chief of Police Robert E. Meaney Jr. “[The car] was observed in the area of Main Street and Pederzini Drive after the incident had occurred.”

At 10:22 p.m., Medfield Police stopped the motor vehicle on Pound Street, according to police reports.

“The car stopped after less than one mile, approximately [of travel],” according to Meaney. “A second cruiser was in the area of Pound Street and assisted with the stop.”

Officers arrested the two teens on Pound Street and requested Assured Collision to tow the vehicle, according to police reports.

One teen was charged with entering a dwelling at night for felony, failure to stop for a police officer while operating a motor vehicle and under 21 possession of liquor. He was also charged with receiving stolen property of less than $250 but Meaney said that charge was later dismissed.
