Two Arrests including Second OUI and Several Cars Off Road

Here's a glance at the Medfield safety log for Feb. 18 and Feb. 19.

Sunday, Feb. 17

1:09 a.m., Main Street. Police notified Highway Department that roads need to be treated.

1:17 a.m., Main Street and North Street. Police report that pedestrian crossing lights keep going on. Central Mass Signal was notified and will fix it in the morning.

7:38 a.m., Main Street. Fire Department reported a car (Toyota SUV) off the road near Pound Street. A private plow truck is helping him out of the snow bank.

8:28 a.m., Main Street. E911 caller reports she slid off the road. Police also notified Dover because she wasn't sure where she was. She was in Dover. Medfield helped Dover stop traffic so they could pull her out.

9:07 a.m., Hale Place. Caller reported a vehicle (Toyota Prius) parked on Hale Place and blocking traffic. Registered in Medway. Owner is moving the vehicle.

2:58 p.m., Philip Street. Caller reported a tree across the street. Electric service was taken out at pole. Tree Warden moved tree. NSTAR notified.

3:58 p.m., North Street. Caller reported a car struck the wall near 243 North Street. No injuries, minor damage. 

4:56 p.m., Thomas Clewes Road. Walk-in report of cars parked at top of road blocking the road. Police said did not see a problem. 

5:09 p.m., Hospital Road. Caller reported a tree down and blocking the road. Police found it was blocking one lane. Tree warden notified.

5:15 p.m.,  Snow Hill Lane. Caller found a commercial license plate (M38920) registered in Dover. Owner was left a message to pick up the plate. 

6:16 p.m., North Street and Deerfield Road. Walk-in report of a car skidding and hitting a telephone pole. Police said pole did not appear to be compromised. NSTAR was notified, no wrecker was needed for minor damage.

6:45 p.m., Wood End Lane. Caller said his teenage daughter keeps passing out. No history of medical problems. Medfield Ambulance responded; refused transport. 

8:58 p.m., Cole Drive. Caller said her smoke detectors are going off but there is no problem. Medfield Fire said it was a faulty detector.

10:31 p.m., Main Street. Caller said there is a group of kids behind the library. Gone on arrival.

10:58 p.m., Caller said a car hit his mailbox. Police said the mailbox was fine with no damage. 

Monday, Feb. 18

10:59 a.m., Caller said she was just involved in a hit and run accident. Police said it was a one-car (Toyota Tacoma) crash with minor damage. 

2:55 p.m., West Street. Caller reported two husky-type dogs running around. Animal Control notified.

3:35 p.m., Loeffler Lane. Caller said the smoke alarm is going off at his neighbor's house but there is no smoke or fire. Police said it was a faulty alarm.

3:45 p.m., Forest Street. E911 caller requested an ambulance for her daughter who is having a seizure. Patient was taken to Norwood Hospital.

4:09 p.m., North Meadows Road. Motor vehicle stop near Papa Gino's. Liliane Zogheib, 45, of 290 Park Street, Stoughton, was arrested on a warrant. 

8:08 p.m., Main Street. Caller reported a car all over the road on Route 109 heading toward the center from Westwood. Car turned into Shaw's parking lot. Police were with car near Marshall's. Denise Hayes, 61, of 1 Rustic Lane, Medfield, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor (second offense) and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
