Tree Trimming Accident Causes Seizure on Granite Street

Part of a tree fell on a worker that required MedFlight but that was not possible due to the weather.

On Tuesday, July 9, a man trimming trees on Granite Street was hit in the head by part of a tree and had a seizure that warranted a MedFlight.

The call came into the Medfield Police Station at 9:54 a.m. and Medfield and Walpole paramedics arrived at the scene within minutes.

At 9:58 a.m., Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury requested MedFlight to respond, however, MedFlight was grounded because of the weather. 

At 10:13 a.m., Walpole Ambulance left with patient for Beth Israel Hospital; they arrived at 10:42 a.m. 

Around 11 a.m., OSHA (Occupational Health and Safety Administration) called Medfield Police to talk about the accident.
