Suspicious Man Possibly Casing Hartford Street, Hit Chicks, Mischief, and More

The following information was provided by the Medfield Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Here's a look at the Medfield Police log for July 24, 2013.

Wednesday, July 24

8:09 a.m., Main Street. Town Hall received a report that some baby chicks were hit on Main Street by Shaw's and the mother is in the middle of the roadway. Animal Control responded.

8:36 a.m., Rocky Lane. Station received a modified restraining order to be served. 

9:07 a.m., West Street. E911 call from LifeLine said a West Street woman needed help getting her sister back in bed. Medfield Ambulance respondd; the woman was taken to Beth Israel Deaconess in Needham.

9:17 a.m., Nebo Street. Caller reported that many street signs had been "ripped up: including Nebo Street at Route 109, Country Way and Wood End Lane, Gun Hill Road. DPW will have them fixed.

10:52 a.m., West and Harding Streets. Police helped a driver who ran over a large branch in the road and got a flat tire. 

11:23 a.m., Hartford Street. Police suggested a check of the area after Westwood Police said that, earlier in the day, they had a male in a car casing houses in Westwood. He was spotted by an off-duty State Police Officer. When they tried to stop him, he took off and they chased him. They think the driver may have dropped someone off on Hartford Street. Sgt. Sicard of Westwood said, Walpole Police pulled the car over on Route 27 in their town and they thought the car (1999 gray Acura from Roslindale) was doubling back to possibly pick someone up. 

1:15 p.m., Bridge Street. Walk-in report of identity theft when a woman said accounts have been opened in her name. 

2:20 p.m., Flint Locke Lane. Caller said that sometime overnight a realty sign and a construction company sign were moved to the middle of the street like a barricade so he moved them. 

4:25 p.m., Harding Street. Caller requested a well-being check after no one answered the door for Meals on Wheels. It was learned that the woman was taken to the hospital on July 23. 

6:54 p.m., South Street. Walk-in report of a stolen mailbox worth $300. 

8:51 p.m., Minuteman Road and Vine Brook Road. Caller reported mischief overnight when small lightbulbs were damaged and electric cords were unplugged.

9:39 p.m., South and Elm Streets. Caller said she was walking in the area when a vehicle drove by and three a bottle. They did not have a make and model of the car but police checked the area.
