Protective Custody, Firing Snowballs, RR Crossing Problems

Here's a glance at the Medfield safety log for Feb. 11 and Feb. 12.

Monday, Feb. 11

9:31 a.m., Green Street. Many E911 calls about a car accident with property damage and personal injury. Two wreckers needed for a 2012 Honda van and a 2001 Dodge truck.

12:04 p.m., station. Animal Control Officer Jenny Cronin out until further notice with an injury.

1:04 p.m., Fairview Road. Police received a call of mischief. Caller reported a silver sedan in the area of Fairview Road and Philip Street throwing snowballs at kids and speeding. Police did not find the car.

1:59 p.m., South Street. Caller reported a car off the road near 325 South Street where there was mailbox damage. Police took Christina Heath, 49 of 12 North Street, into protective custody. The vehicle (2012 GMC Yukon) was towed.

5:31 p.m., Spring Street. Caller from Olde Village Square said people are working on the houses and work is supposed to be done at 3:30pm. Police discovered it was a machine removing snow. 

7:02 p.m., Juniper Lane. Caller asked for help removing someone from his property.

7:31 p.m., Forest Street. Caller said her daughter was having a seizure. Medfield Ambulance took her to Norwood Hospital. 

Tuesday, Feb. 12

12:11 a.m., Town Garage. Caller reported a telephone pole at the garage is sparking and smoking. Medfield Police and Fire responded; it was a fuse that was smoking and NSTAR was notified.

2:31 p.m., North Steet and Deerfield Drive. Caller reported a disabled motor vhiecle with property damage. 

2:51 p.m., South Street. Caller reported an elderly woman had fallen in the yard. Medfield Ambulance helped her up.

3:52 p.m., Medway. Medway Police called to report an abandoned motor vehicle (2002 Ford pickup) in the Star Market parking lot. They asked Medfield to contact owner to move the vehicle.

3:59 p.m., station. Walk-in report of a found car key and remote starter on Hospital Hill (across from the security trailer). 

10:08 p.m., Main Street railroad crossing. Caller reports lights are on but no train in area. Fire Department tied up gates. CSX arrived at 11:18 p.m. to work on problem; gates were back up at 11:58 p.m. CSX reported at 3:27 a.m. (on Feb. 13) that the problem was repaired.
