Police Logs: OUI Arrest, House Fire and Concrete Spill

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs from April 2-9.

Monday, April 2:

9:22 a.m. – Man called from his cell phone to report a broken down school bus in front of 468 Main St. in traffic. Officer spoke with the bus driver and they have a tow truck on the way from Norfolk.

3:18 p.m. – Caller reported the “go slow, children” traffic sign was missing from Elm Street.

4:24 p.m. – Individual came into the station to speak to an officer about fraud with his credit card.

4:52 p.m. – Woman called from Elm Street to report a big white fluffy animal in her garage under a chair. She would the Animal Control officer to respond.

Tuesday, April 3:

10:18 a.m. – Paul Cunningham, a UPS driver called to report a working fire at 180 South St. He reported heavy fire coming from the house at the time of the call. Norfolk County Control was notified of working fire. South Street was closed at the railroad tracks and at the end of South and Spring Streets. NSTAR turned off the power to the residence. Detective notified the homeowner, Jonathan Hanson of the fire. Westwood and Walpole Fire Departments arrived on scene. State Police arrived on scene to investigate. Scene was cleared at 2:05 p.m.

Wednesday, April 4:

12:12 a.m. – Caller reported he wanted to speak to the police about his mother. Officer reported he would be transporting one to the station to call for a ride.

6:29 a.m. – Caller reported she had a skunk in her back yard on Vinald Road that was stuck. Animal Control was notified and reported she had to put the skunk down.

9:03 a.m. – Individual from Fernando Hair Design called to report the shop had been receiving a large number of harassing phone calls. The caller reported he was out of town at the time but when he returns he would call to see an officer.

4:34 p.m. – Caller from the fish market on North Street called to report a group of youths skateboarding in front of the store. Officer reported he sent the youths on their way.

7:10 p.m. – Woman from Granite Street called to report a suspicious vehicle that was sitting at the end of her driveway watching her kids play in the yard. A white pickup truck with a cab on it. Officer reported he checked the area but reported it was gone on arrival.

Thursday, April 5:

9:17 a.m. – Sergeant Burton reported he was out on a building check at the Medfield State Hospital at the old nurses quarters and reported one of the windows had been tampered with. Security was notified.

3:40 p.m. – Individual came into the station to report her cell phone was stolen or lost. She needed a report for the phone company. Officer spoke to her.

Friday, April 6:

9:39 a.m. – Man came into the station to report a large concrete spill on North Meadows Road at West Street (at the traffic lights). Desk officer notified Tresca Brothers. Sergeant Burton reported Tresca Brothers were on scene cleaning up the spill at 9:58 a.m. The scene was cleared at 10:32 am.

10:10 a.m. – Man came into the station to report he had concrete all over his vehicle from a concrete spill by Tresca Brothers. Man said he was going to the car wash to wash off the concrete and stop by Tresca Brothers in Millis.

Saturday, April 7:

10:34 a.m. – EMT reported they were enroute with the brush truck to 116 high St. to assist man in putting out his brush fire.

11:02 p.m. – Man from Johns Avenue called to report a car crashed into his neighbor’s front stairs and took off in his motor vehicle. Officer notified and at 11:06 p.m. requested a tow truck. At 11:08 p.m., officer requested a fire truck. Officer reported he was returning to the station with one under arrest at 11:30 p.m. Mark J. Giangregorio, 34, of 21 Lowell Mason Rd. was arrested on charges of Operating Under the Influence of liquor (first offense), negligent operation of motor vehicle and malicious destruction of property over 250. Giangregorio was bailed out at 2:01 a.m.

Sunday, April 8:

9:46 p.m. – Woman from Adams Street called to report loud music coming from a vehicle parked in the driveway of a residence on the street. Woman would like it turned down if possible. Officer spoke with three individuals about the issue and the music would be off the rest of the night.

Monday, April 9:

7:54 a.m. – Woman called from Jacob Cushman Drive to request the ambulance for her mother, who had a cut on her head. Ambulance transported patient to Grover Hospital.
