Police Logs: Obama Protestors, Trespassing at Noon Hill Grill and A&B by Chair

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs from March 19-26.

Monday, March 19:

7:07 a.m. - Woman caller reported a loose dog on Nebo Street.

2:58 p.m. – Caller from Spring Street reported he had someone at his house that reported there was a man on the railroads track behind his house with a rifle. Officer reported he would handle. At 3 p.m. the officer reported he was out with the man on the tracks near the Curve Street Bridge. Officer reported he spoke to the man and reported it was a BB gun. The man would be taking it home.

5:53 p.m. – Man came into the station to report that he hit a tree on Farm Street three years ago and then noticed other cars have hit the tree. Man requested a guardrail to go past the tree so other cars do not hit it in the future. Desk officer told the man that the state handles the guardrails in town.

Tuesday, March 20:

8:37 a.m. – Officer reported he issued three citations while on traffic enforcement on Elm Street by the Wheelock School.

10:34 a.m. – Caller reported two people standing by CVS were attempting to stop traffic with a sign of President Barack Obama dressed as Adolph Hitler. Sergeant was notified and told the people to stay off the street. Peace restored. Medfield Police received several calls about the protestors.

11:56 a.m. – Teacher from Montrose School called about a 14-year-old student who had fainted and not regained consciousness.

12:19 p.m. – Public Works Superintendent Ken Feeney reported someone dumped trash into the Town Hall dumpster. Vehicle was registered to a Medfield resident. Officer called the home and left a message for the individual to remove the trash.

12:29 p.m. – Young girl reported her father collapsed at their home on Cottage Street. Millis ambulance and EMS responded. Man reportedly fell and hit his head. He was awake when emergency response units arrived and was transported to Norwood Hospital.

12:52 p.m. – 911 caller requested the ambulance because he reportedly cut his finger. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

3:26 p.m. – Caller reported people holding signs on the roadside by CVS parking lot depicting President Obama as Adolf Hitler. Caller reported he was offended and would like to speak to an officer. Officer reported no crime committed.

3:37 p.m. – Caller reported he was offended by the protestors in the CVS parking lot. Caller was advised the matter was already investigated and there was no crime being committed.

9:57 p.m. – Man called emergency 911 to report his wife was hitting his 12-year-old daughter. Desk officer reported he could hear a female yelling loudly in the background and it sounded “out of control.” Officer reported the daughter and father left the residence for the evening.

Wednesday, March 21:

11:41 a.m. – Woman came into the station to speak with an officer about credit card fraud. Report was filed.

Thursday, March 22:

10:44 a.m. – Individual from Philip Street came into the station and requested to speak to an officer about a case of fraud, saying someone filed tax returns with the individual’s social security number. Officer spoke with individual and filed a report.

4:10 p.m. – Officer spoke with an individual from Bridge Street, who came into the station to report the theft of her son’s wallet and ID from the locker rooms at Blake Middle School Tuesday, March 20.

5:51 p.m. – Caller reported when he was walking down Green Street he heard two men yelling and screaming inside on of the houses on the street. Caller said he heard one of the men yell, “I’m going to kill you.” Officers responded and reported peace was restored. It was an argument between two brothers who live on Green Street.

6:30 p.m. – Individual from Boston called to report he found a wallet belonging to a Medfield resident. Officer reportedly tried to contact the owner of the wallet.

Friday, March 23:

9:22 a.m. – Memorial School principal called to report a parent came into the school reporting a nine or 10-year-old student was running down Adams Street looking like he “might be having a problem.” Officer checked the area but student was gone on arrival.

1:02 p.m. – Caller from the Noon Hill Grill reported Joseph Williams of South Street in Medfield was in the bar and has a letter of disinvite issued to him at the restaurant. Sergeant responded and reported he was returning to the station with Williams under arrest. Williams was charged with trespassing against order of disinvite and assault and battery on a police officer. Medfield Police transported Williams to Dedham Court.

8:13 p.m. – Woman called to report her brother was hitting her. She reported he left and there was no need for the police but Medfield’s desk officer told her he had to send the police to her residence. Officer checked the area of Causeway Street for the caller’s brother but could not locate him. Report was filed.

8:45 p.m. – Officer reported the smell of gas in the area of 133 Spring St. in front of St. Edward Church. Alarm sounded and Fire Department notified. Officer reported Columbia Gas was on scene and reported it was a small leak at the church. Columbia Gas would change the meter sometime in the next week or two.

Saturday, March 24:

3:22 a.m. – Caller reported she would like an ambulance for her husband, who is not feeling well. Patient was transported to the hospital.

1:17 p.m. – Caller reported a domestic incident occurring on Kenney Road. Cruisers were dispatched to the scene. Officer requested an ambulance for two individuals, who were transported to Norwood Hospital. A court summons was issued to a 16-year-old on an assault and batter by dangerous weapon charge. The weapon was reportedly a chair.

4:20 p.m. – Medfield firefighter requested an alarm be sounded for 348 North St. for a residential fire alarm. Units were clear at 4:30 p.m., reporting it was smoke from the oven.

5:05 p.m. – Caller reported a house fire on Route 109 at Daper Road. The residence was reportedly on the town line, possibly in Dover. All units were clear shortly after arriving on scene, reporting the fire was in Walpole.

9:31 p.m. – Ed Hinkley called to report the town is flushing fire hydrants on Elm Street and a car hit one of the town trucks. There was no personal injury. Officer notified.

Monday, March 26:

6:17 a.m. – Nurse from the Thomas Upham House called emergency 911 to report a 95-year-old female having chest pains. Patient was transported to LMH.

7:40 a.m. – Caller reported trash and boxes were in the road on West Street. Officer and Highway Department were notified. Officer reported the trash came from 93 West St.

8:43 a.m. – Officer reported he was on Elm Street doing radar and requested a tow truck after making a motor vehicle stop for speeding. A court summons was issued to a Milford resident on two charges: unlicensed operation of motor vehicle and speeding (33 mph in a 20 mph zone).
