Police Logs: Medflight for Motorist, Warrant Arrest Made and Road Rage

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs from May 8-13.

Tuesday, May 8:

7:33 a.m. (Fire alarm) – Fire alarm for Tilden Village came into the station. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury reported it was caused by burnt food.

8:35 a.m. (Animal complaint) – Caller from Medfield High School reported a fox walking around the outside of the building.

10:45 a.m. (Ambulance run) – Caller from High Street reported his wife had fallen and injured her hip – possibly broke it. Woman reported she could not move her leg. Medfield ambulance responded with a police officer. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury requested events paramedics for transportation. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital at 11:13 a.m.

1:42 a.m. (Mischief) – The security guard for the Medfield State Hospital on Hospital Road called to report there was a car parked on Hospital Road and kids got out and jumped over the fence. Security guard would like the police to check on them. Officer spoke to the kids and were instructed to leave the area.

5:46 p.m. (Vehicle accident) – An off-duty fire fighter reported a motor vehicle crash on Main Street near the railroad tracks in the center of town with possible personal injury. Officer responded and reported two tow trucks were needed. Officer reported he would be transporting two subjects to the station to call for a ride. No ambulance transport needed.

5:49 p.m. (Animal complaint) – Caller reported a cat had been hit in front of his house on Green Street. Animal Control notified.

Thursday, May 10:

7 p.m. (Animal complaint) – Caller reported from Tilden Village on Pound Street she had seen a coyote walking across the parking lot in the development. Desk officer transferred caller to Animal Control.

9:37 p.m. (Arrest) – Carlos Cordova, 40, of 9 Summit St. Apt. #1, Framingham was arrested on a warrant out of Framingham after Medfield Police spoke to him outside of Cumberland Farms on Main Street. Desk officer received a call from a motorist reporting he was behind a silver Toyota pickup truck operated by Cordova, saying the driver may be drunk. Cordova was in the parking lot of Cumberland Farms when Medfield Police spoke with Cordova. Officer then reported to desk officer he was returning to the station with Cordova under arrest.

Friday, May 11:

6:33 a.m. (Noise complaint) – Caller reported the landscaping crew had been working at Shaw’s since 6 a.m. and they are not supposed to start work until 7 a.m. Caller would like someone to speak with them about this issue. Officer reported she spoke to Lush Landscaping and they were advised of the bylaw.

7:56 a.m. (Assault and battery) – Man reported he was the victim of assault and batter over a road rage matter on Main Street by North Meadows Road. Suspect was described as a white male about 40 years old with red hair and a beard driving a blue pickup truck. He was last seen driving North on Route 27.

9:01 a.m. (Assist another agency) – Norfolk Police requested an officer to help out with a breaking and entering report at 80 Medway St. Norfolk.

12:44 p.m. Miscellaneous complaint) – Four cars issued parking tickets on Green Street after caller reported a parking complaint – cars parked on the sidewalk.

Saturday, May 12:

1:47 a.m. (Vehicle accident) – Caller reported a motor vehicle crash on North Street – car into a wall. Officer requested desk officer notify the Highway Department about a down street sign. Ambulance responded but reported no injuries on scene.

1:51 a.m. (Noise complaint) – Caller reported from Main Street his neighbor was outside working on his motorcycle and swearing. Caller would like someone to check on him. Officer spoke to the man working on his bike, who said he would be stopping for the night.

2:26 p.m. (Vehicle accident with injury) – Medfield fire alarm (box #421) was sounded for a motor vehicle crash with personal injury reported on Route 27 Spring Street. Man called from Randy’s Automotive on Spring Street to report the crash – a motor vehicle versus a motorcycle. Desk officer reported he received seven calls about the crash. At 2:26 p.m., the Medfield Ambulance and Fire Department were notified of the crash. At 2:28 p.m. desk officer notified Westwood paramedics. At 2:31 p.m. EMT requested Medflight for Ice House Road. At 2:32 p.m. Medflight two will be landing in about 14 minutes. At 2:38 p.m. Westwood paramedics were out on scene. At 2:43 p.m. Medflight two reported it was about four minutes away from landing at Ice House Road. At 2:50 p.m. Medflight two landed and at 3:05 p.m. reported it was off the ground and enroute to Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.

5:58 p.m. (Complaint – recreation vehicle) – Resident from Spring Street called to report two dirt bikes were in the sand pits by the railroad tracks behind the Ralph Wheelock School. Man just wanted it noted in the log and would like the police to keep an eye out for them.

Sunday, May 13:

1:11 a.m. (Vandalism) – Man from Stuart Street called to report his mailbox was smashed. He reported about four youths in an SUV but there were three to four vehicles speeding up and down the street. Officer notified and searched the area with no luck.

2:42 p.m. (Noise complaint) – Resident from Sanders Way came into the station and requested to speak with an officer about some very loud gunshots or fireworks that have been going off the last two weeks. There was one in the morning around 2:40 a.m.
