Police Logs: Medfield Resident Charged with Unarmed Robbery at Dunkin' Donuts

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs from March 26 to April 2.

Thursday, March 29:

7:39 a.m. - Officer reported he was out at Granite Street to serve an arrest warrant (medical issue) and transport the patient to Dedham District Court.

9:09 a.m. - Caller requested the ambulance for a student having emotional difficulties at Blake Middle School. Student was transported to Norwood Hospital.

4:18 p.m. – Caller reported she believed there was a fire in her basement on Wood End Lane. Medfield Fire reported there was no fire – it was a problem with the woman’s boiler.

7:56 a.m. – Caller reported a rabid raccoon on her porch at Harding Street. Police officer responded but was unable to locate animal.

5:11 p.m. – Man came into the station to report he was a victim of identity fraud. He spoke with two officers about the incident.

Saturday, March 31:

8:07 p.m. – Officer reported he was out with a motor vehicle stop on Dale Street across from the Dale Street School. The 24-year-old Medfield resident was issued a court summons on the following charges: failure to stop at a stop sign, operation of motor vehicle wit ha suspended license.

Sunday, April 1:

10:18 a.m. – Manager from Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street called emergency 911 to request the police because of an ex-employee disturbing business. Manager said the ex-employee was causing problems for her and trying to take some money from her. At 10:33 a.m. Medfield Police officer Stephen Grover reported he was returning to the station with the ex-employee, Austin T. Gomes of Medfield under arrest. Gomes, 21 of 21 Miller St. was charged with unarmed robbery. Gomes was placed into cell number two at 11:43 a.m. At 11:48 a.m., Sergeant Burton spoke with Bail Commissioner Robert Quinn and he placed bail at $2,000. At 1:40 p.m., Officer Anderson transported Gomes to Dedham jail where he would stay until court on Monday morning.

12:12 p.m. – Woman from Garry Drive called and requested to see an officer because someone stole her lacrosse net sometime overnight Saturday into Sunday. The net is valued at $400. Officer Larz Anderson spoke with some of the woman’s neighbors and found out it was an April Fool’s joke by the neighbors and the lacrosse net was returned with no damage.

Monday, April 2:

9:22 a.m. – Man called from his cell phone to report a broken down school bus in front of 468 Main St. in traffic. Officer spoke with the bus driver and they have a tow truck on the way from Norfolk.
