Police Logs: Larceny at Medfield Gardens, Stolen Copper Piping and Man Dancing in Street
Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs from May 13-21.
Sunday, May 13:
1:11 a.m. (Vandalism) – Man from Stuart Street called to report his mailbox was smashed. He reported about four youths in an SUV but there were three to four vehicles speeding up and down the street. Officer notified and searched the area with no luck.
2:42 p.m. (Noise complaint) – Resident from Sanders Way came into the station and requested to speak with an officer about some very loud gunshots or fireworks that have been going off the last two weeks. There was one in the morning around 2:40 a.m.

7:10 p.m. (Animal complaint) – Woman from Curve Street called to request animal control for a squirrel that was stuck in a net in her backyard. Woman would like the squirrel removed if possible.

1:52 p.m. (Ambulance run) – Woman called emergency 911 from Saw Mill Lane to request the ambulance for a man who was painting in her house and when he was coming down the ladder he fell and broke his leg. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.
Tuesday, May 15:
8:36 p.m. (Larceny) – Man called from a Maple Lane residence to request an officer because some copper piping was stolen again from the vacant house he is working on. Officer spoke with the caller and looked at the property and damage that was done there. Report was filed.
1:12 p.m. (Departmental action) – Desk officer reported power went out at Medfield Police Department. The power came on and off four times. Desk officer also notified NSTAR of the same. At 1:29 p.m. the power was back on at the station.
4:31 p.m. (Ambulance run) – 911 caller from Philip Street reported her daughter took six-plus ambien pills and locked herself in her bedroom. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.
10:37 p.m. (Suspicious activity) – Individual came into the station to report a man dancing in the middle of North Street almost in front of the police station. The man had a red jacket around his waist. Officer reported man was located in front of Rockland Federal Bank on North Street and transported him to Pound Street.
Wednesday, May 16:
7:39 p.m. (Assist a citizen) – Resident called from Woodridge Road about the media on his property and requested they be removed. He also would like extra checks during the day and night. Officer reported no one was around upon arrival.
Thursday, May 17:
1:08 p.m. (Suspicious activity) – Woman from Haven Road called to report someone called her house claiming to be UPS and said they had a package for her and asked if she was home. She called UPS and it was not them. Officer notified and filed a report.
2:09 p.m. (Animal complaint) – Man from North Street called to report a sick fox in the area and would like the Animal Control Officer to check on the animal. Fox was gone upon arrival, according to ACO.
3:53 p.m. (Animal complaint) – Caller reported a sick fox in her backyard by a shed on Harding Street.
4:04 p.m. (Larceny) – Officer requested an incident number for an attempted larceny at Dale Street School.
4:25 p.m. (Animal complaint) – Caller reported a cat was struck by a vehicle on Route 27 near St. Edward’s Church. Animal Control notified.
5:05 p.m. (Walk-in/Medical/Mental) – Female came into the station reporting she felt threatened by her mother. Desk officer reported the female appeared to be “emotionally disturbed.” Officer came into the station to assist. Riverside called to report they had been called by Medfield Youth Outreach regarding the female and they would be sending someone out to Medfield. At 6 p.m. Riverside employee was in the station and the female requested to go to the hospital for a psych evaluation.
6:24 p.m. (Ambulance run) – Emergency 911 caller from Hospital Road reported a 6-year-old boy was struck in the face with an object and was bleeding from the nose and possibly vomiting blood. Medfield ambulance responded but reported no transport was needed.
7 p.m. (Fraud) – Caller reported she would like to file a report of possible fraud.
7:13 p.m. (Fraud) – Individual walked into the station to report credit card fraud.
7:20 p.m. (Mischief) – Emergency 911 caller reported two high school aged males throwing coins at other vehicles from a moving truck. Officer would be checking the area.
9:52 p.m. (Well-being check) – Caller reported she is concerned for her friend who lives on High Street in Medfield. Caller says her friend is an alcoholic and she learned her friend was “highly intoxicated” at the Raven’s Nest bar in Walpole. Woman believed her friend might be trying to drive home from Walpole. Officer notified and reported Walpole Police called to report they have this woman in protective custody at their police department.
10:15 p.m. (Miscellaneous complaint) – Caller reported an electrical wire sparking in the area of 41 Park St. Medfield Fire Department reported wire was on a branch and was no hazard. NSTAR was notified.
Friday, May 18:
1:47 p.m. (Fire alarm) – Man called from his cell phone at 106 Adams St. to request the Medfield Fire Department. He reported he had a small fire on the second floor that was put out but he wanted the fire department to check it out for him.
1:47 p.m. (Vehicle accident with personal injury) – Woman from High Street called emergency 911 to request the police for a motor vehicle crash with personal injury in front of 48 High St. (motor vehicle into a pole). Desk officer notified Walpole paramedics. EMT requested Medfield Fire on scene. Officer requested tow truck. Officer requested NSTAR be notified to come out and repair the pole, which suffered heavy damage from the collision. Patient transported to Norwood Hospital.
2:20 p.m. (Miscellaneous complaint) – Police captain radioed the station to report to the Medfield Fire Department a smell of gas in the area of Spring and Maple Streets. Captain requested Columbia Gas to come out and check the area.
Saturday, May 19:
9:12 a.m. (Animal complaint) – Woman from Knollwood Road called to request Animal Control remove a “very large” snake on her back deck.
11:57 a.m. (Animal complaint) – Caller reported a dead cat in the road on North Street by Deerfield Drive.
9:25 p.m. (Miscellaneous complaint) – Woman called to report she had a water break at the end of the driveway of 108 Harding St. and is running down the driveway and into her backyard.
Sunday, May 20:
7:02 a.m. (Miscellaneous complaint) – Man from Hillcrest Road called to report last night around 9:50 p.m. he went to the Medfield High School to pick up his mother and when he was leaving some kids in a dark color Mercedes Benz SUV threw a Taco Bell sandwich at his vehicle. Man said he washed off the sandwich and there was no damage but wanted it noted in the log.
7:46 a.m. (Ambulance run) – Man called from his cell phone to request the police and an ambulance for a female bicyclist that is down in the road in front of Anton’s Cleaners on Main Street. Man placed bike in the garage downstairs. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.
3:30 p.m. (Ambulance run) – Manager of Jings Garden II on North Meadows Road called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for a woman they had there who had fallen and hit her head. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.
Monday, May 21:
8:26 a.m. (Missing property found) – Man called from his cell phone to report he and his wife were out walking on Noon Hill Road when they spotted what looked like a gun on the banks of Stop River by the bridge. Officer retrieved pellet gun from the banks of Stop River and returned it to the station for found property.
9:02 a.m. (Larceny) – Man from 91 Pleasant St. came into the station and requested to speak with an officer about his pickup truck being vandalized and some things stolen from inside of it overnight. Man’s pickup truck was parked in the back lot of the Pleasant Street Garden Apartments. The man reported the following items were stolen from his vehicle: TomTom GPS (valued at $100), Vizio 32-inch flat screen TV (valued at $450) and prescription sun glasses (valued at $400). The driver’s side window and rear small door were vandalized. Officer Grover spoke with the man and looked at the damage of the truck. He will do a report.
