Police Logs, Jan. 9-17: OUI Arrests, Assault and Battery and Sudden Death

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, Jan. 9:

4:21 p.m. – 911 caller from Causeway Street reported her 1-year-old son fell and bumped his head and she would like him checked out. Ambulance responded and reported no transport necessary.

5:27 p.m. – Multiple calls came into the station of a motor vehicle crash on Route 109 near the Dover town line. Officers notified. Dover Police notified to assist with traffic. Ambulance transported one to Norwood Hospital.

Tuesday, Jan. 10:

7:51 p.m. – Individual called to report a possible drunk male walking in the area of South Street and would like a well-being check on the individual in question. Officer requested EMT on scene. Individual was transported to Newton Wellesley Hospital.

Wednesday, Jan. 11:

9:16 a.m. – Officer reported a motor vehicle accident at South Street on Route 27. Officer notified first responders for fluids in the road.

Thursday, Jan. 12:

6:03 p.m. – Caller from Wilkens Glen Road reported taking too much medication and would like the ambulance to respond. Ambulance transported patient to Needham Hospital.

6:11 p.m. – Daniel Malloy, 47, of 12 Blueberry Ln., Franklin was arrested and charged with a marked lanes violation and OUI-Liquor after a motor vehicle stop on West Street. At 6:11 p.m., a caller reported an erratic driver coming from the Dover town line. Sergeant Burton of Medfield Police was out with the vehicle on West Street at West Mill Street. Sgt. Burton reported an officer was out with Malloy under arrest (OUI). Assured Collision towing removed the vehicle and Dover Police did a refusal.

7:04 p.m. – Man came into the station to report his car was vandalized at the Noon Hill Grill.

Friday, Jan. 13:

9:01 a.m. – Officer reported he was out at the Medfield High School doing a field investigation.

1:33 p.m. – Man called from his cell phone at High Street to report he just hit a deer. The deer was still alive. Officer reported five rounds into the deer to put it down. The Medfield Highway Department removed the deer.

4:26 p.m. – Woman from Pondview Avenue called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for her daughter, who had hurt her leg. No transport was necessary.

7:24 p.m. – Richard A Quinn, 52, of 99 Kendall Ave., Framingham, was arrested and charged with OUI-Liquor first offense, marked lanes violation and breakdown lane violation. Officer reported he was out on a motor vehicle stop in the area of 120 North Meadows Rd. At 7:45 p.m., officer was enroute to the station with Quinn under arrest for OUI. Assure Collision towed the vehicle. Quinn was released by Bail Commissioner on his own recognizance.

Saturday, Jan. 14:

12:59 a.m. – Robert A Gee, 29, of 356 Washington St. Apt. 2, Norwood, was arrested and charged with OUI-Liquor first offense and marked lanes violation. Officer was out on a motor vehicle stop and reported at 1:26 a.m. he would be into the station with Gee under arrest for OUI. Assured Collision towed the vehicle. At 2:39 a.m., officer reported he was headed to Dover for a refusal. Gee was released at 3:27 a.m.

2:33 p.m. – Man called from Hearthstone Drive called emergency 911 to report a motor vehicle accident on Hearthstone Drive. Police and fire were notified. Ambulance transported one to Norwood Hospital.

8:05 p.m. – Man from Willow Circle called to request the Animal Control officer because he had a stray cat in a trap in his yard.

Sunday, Jan. 15:

1:18 p.m. – Three calls came in about a motor vehicle crashed into a tree on Philip Street. Ambulance transported patient to BID Hospital Boston.

7:14 p.m. – 911 caller reported she is having a dispute with her husband at Maplewood Road and she would like the police. The call was abandoned and desk officer called the house back and spoke to the woman about the call and officers were notified of the situation. Officer requested the ambulance to check out one of the subjects. Officer reported he was returning the station with one under arrest. Roger P. Caruso, 71, 8 Maplewood Rd., Medfield was arrested and charged with assault and battery.

Monday, Jan. 16:

6:39 a.m. – Woman called to report a possible sudden death at 54 Frairy St. All cars responded. Ambulance responded and officer on scene confirmed a sudden death. Medfield Police Chief Robert E. Meaney Jr. notified. Melvin (Mel) Procaccini, 94, of Frairy Street, Medfield passed away.

2 p.m. – Man called from North Street to report someone spray painted the side of the building on 501 Main St. Officer looked at the tagging that was done on the side of the building. Report was filed.

4:40 p.m. – Man called from his cell phone to request the police remove some kids that are playing on the ice at the bridge on Nebo Street. Officer checked the area but had no luck finding the kids.

Tuesday, Jan. 17:

4:57 a.m. – Highway Department reported a car ran into one of their snowplows on Route 27 at Jorire Lane. Assured Collision towed the vehicle.

4:39 p.m. – Individual came into the station to speak to an officer about someone from John Crowder Road being at his house when he got home. Woman had a letter of disinvite. Officer issued a summons for trespassing to a 19-year-old Medfield resident from John Crowder Road.

5:32 p.m. – Individual came into the station to report his mailbox was damaged on New Year’s Eve night. He knows who did the damage. Officer reported it was a civil matter.
