Police Logs, Feb. 7-9

Highlights from daily police and fire logs

Monday, Feb. 7:

9:46 a.m. – Caller reported she was locked out of her house on Wheelwright Road. Medfield Fire department handled the situation and woman was able to get into her house.

11:25 a.m. – Cell caller reported a male was walking down Route 27 near the Walpole line thumbing and was possibly drunk. Officer notified.

11:28 a.m. – Caller reported no power at her house on Garry Drive and maybe on the street. NSTAR was notified and reported they would handle the situation. Woman called back to report no power on the South side of town. NSTAR notified.

11:48 a.m. – Man came into the station to report he was locked out of his house. Fire Department helped him gain entry.

12:58 p.m. – Officer Stephen Grover transported Michael D’Anotnio from Medfield Police station’s lobby to the station in Walpole.

2:13 p.m. – Caller on South St. reported the garage door was open to a vacant house on the street. Officer responded and reported workers were removing ice dams.

2:58 p.m. – Multiple calls received regarding turn lights on Routes 27 and 109. Officer notified.

3:21 p.m. – Caller reported a man going door to door selling frozen food on Thomas Clewes Road. Officer Flaherty spoke to the driver, who does not have a permit to sell. He was told to go to Town Hall for a permit. Man left with a verbal warning.

4:50 p.m. – Caller reported her Co2 detector was going off on Kenney Road. Desk officer told woman to leave the house and the Fire Department was notified. Fire Department reported no problem with Co2.

5:07 p.m. – Officer James O’Neil issued a summons to a Malden resident during a motor vehicle stop on South Street for speeding in violation of special regulation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

7:52 p.m. – Caller reported a chimney fire on Philip Street. Fire Department and police officer responded. Officer reported driveway was icy and no sign of fire was showing. Fire Department checked the scene and reported all was clear.

9:15 p.m. – Caller from Cure Street requested the ambulance. EMTS requested events EMS. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital.

Tuesday, Feb. 8:

5:26 a.m. – Bob Kennedy reported he would like a cruiser to assist one of the Highway Department’s trucks, which was broken down on Route 27 at the Walpole line. Wrecker was enroute.

7:40 a.m. – Caller reported that the lights were not functioning properly in the center of town on Main and Spring Streets. Officer responded and reported lights were functioning properly.

12:02 p.m. – Desk officer reported a call from the elevator at Town Hall was received. Officer spoke with woman inside and she stated that she did not press the button. Officer responded to check. Desk officer noted that this particular alarm has been coming in daily and may need to be serviced.

2:02 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle that frequently leaves the high school and creates a traffic problem. The drive spins his tires and drives erratically. Plate check came back to Medfield resident on Bridlefield Road. Officer Larz Anderson would call the residence.

4:19 p.m. – Officer Flaherty issued a citation during a motor vehicle stop on South Street.

8:44 p.m. – Officer O’Neil issued a citation during a motor vehicle stop on Main Street.

Wednesday, Feb. 9:

2:05 a.m. – Caller reported the lights were flashing on the railroad crossing on Main Street and gates were down. Cottage Street railroad lights were on as well. CSX was notified. Fire Department responded to tie up the gates. CSX arrived at 5:45 a.m. and at 6:40 a.m. traffic lights were reported back to normal.

4:16 a.m. – Walpole Police Department reported a hit deer on Route 27 near the line. Caller will wait for an officer. Officer reported deer took off into the woods.

8:05 a.m. – Caller reported she saw water shooting out of the rear of her house on Pleasant Street. Fire Department notified.

8:09 a.m. – Dover Police requested an officer to assist with a motor vehicle accident. Dover requested an ambulance for transport. Ambulance was enroute to Needham.

8:28 a.m. – 911 hang up call from Town Hall elevator and has been an on-going problem. Officer reported he checked the elevator and all was clear. Officer spoke to receptionist and she will contact the company.

8:51 a.m. – Detective John Geary requested an arrest number for Norfolk resident who was charged with larceny under $250 and receiving stolen credit cards.

10:03 a.m. – Security from the old Medfield State Hospital requested a 4xwheel drive vehicle because someone ran the gate and they could not get in. Sergeant was notified and responded.

10:20 a.m. – Caller requested an ambulance for a man who had fallen on Main Street. Male was in the barbershop. Ambulance was in route to Natick.

3:29 p.m. – Individual came into station to speak to an officer about a hit and run in the center of town. No color or make of vehicle was reported. Officer Flaherty notified.

5:06 p.m. – Caller reported a minor motor vehicle collision on Route 29 and Route 27. Officer reported very minor damage and handled paperwork.

5:11 p.m. – Woman called to report she has been receiving strange phone calls at her Bridge Street residence. Officer O’Neil responded and a report was filed.

7:23 p.m. – Caller reported her 2-year-old son fell and hit his head and was vomiting. Ambulance and officer notified. No transport was needed.
