Police Logs, Feb. 22-27

Highlights from police and fire logs.

Tuesday, Feb. 22:

1:12 p.m. – Subject came into the police station to speak to officer Michelle Bento in regard to a missing package that may have been stolen.

2:27 p.m. – Caller at Granite Street requested assistance with a house lockout. Fire Department responded.

3:10 p.m. – 911 caller at Emerson Road reported she would like an ambulance to check out her husband who was not feeling well. Ambulance transported patient to Glover Hospital.

3:18 p.m. – Caller reported a man fell in front of Building 3 at Tilden Village on Pound Street. Desk officer notified Millis Fire Department for its ambulance and it was enroute. Millis Ambulance and Medfield police reported no transport of patient.

3:52 p.m. – Officer was out at Wilkens Glen Road to try and serve a 209A (restraining order) Officer was unable to serve order as nobody was home and there was a different name on the mailbox.

3:58 p.m. – Norwood Police Department reported a brown Dodge Caravan with New York plates was headed down Route 109 after two males in the vehicle reportedly stole a large amount of copper wire from a business in Norwood. Officer reported gone on arrival at 4:33 p.m.

4:46 p.m. – 911 caller on Garry Drive reported his son had a very high fever. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

6:01 p.m. – Sherborn Police Department reported they had a white male with blue jeans and maroon hoodie, who was clean shaven that was bipolar and off his medication. The man jumped out of his father’s car enroute to the hospital. This happened near Route 27 near Route 16. Officers notified. Sherborn Police later reported it had the subject.

6:40 p.m. – Caller from Frairy Street called to request assistance with her husband who had fallen. Ambulance transported patient to Metro-West Natick Hospital.

7:28 p.m. – 911 caller from Flint Locke Ln. reported she would like the ambulance for her husband who has a hip problem. Millis Ambulance responded.

Wednesday, Feb. 23:

3:39 a.m. – 911 call came into the station from the Town Hall elevator. Officer reported building was clear.

8:24 a.m. – James Maraggio, owner of Maraggio Vehicle Inspection at 47 West St. called to report he had a woman dump her trash in his dumpster. The two had some “heated words” and then she drove off, almost hitting Maraggio with her car. Marragio requested to speak with an officer about the incident. Officer Michelle Bento spoke with Maraggio and was enroute to Indian Hill Road to talk with the girls that threw their trash into Maraggio’s dumpster. Officer Bento spoke with the girls and they said it would not happen again. Incident cleared.

8:56 a.m. – Emergency 911 caller at Lawrence Ct. reported that an 85-year-old man fell and hurt his hip. Ambulance was enroute with patient to Norwood Hospital at 9:14 a.m.

8:59 a.m. – Sergeant Ray Burton reported last three shifts had been unable to serve a 209A order (restraining order) to individual at Wilkens Glen Road. Report was filed.

9:05 a.m. – Tracy Mitchell called from Roberts Mitchell Funeral Service to request a funeral escort from 15 Miller St. to Millis town line on Main Street around 9:30 a.m.

9:19 a.m. – Life Line alarm company called to report they received a fallen alarm coming from Haven Road and they would like a well-being check done on individual. Officer Wayne Sallale spoke with individual, who said he set his alarm off by accident. The alarm was reset and all was clear.

10:50 a.m. – Woman from Main Street came into the station and requested to speak to an officer about a case of credit card fraud. She spoke with her bank as well as officer Bento. Report was filed.

1:06 p.m. – Station received from Dedham District Court a 258E Harassment Order docket to be served by Pempbroke Police. Judge wanted it noted that she was concerned for the plaintiff’s safety due to the defendant’s extensive criminal record. Order expires in one year. Placed 209A into a file.

2:56 p.m. – Medfield Police received a call about a missing person from a male at First Baptist Church on Main Street. The man received a phone message from individual and said he was “maybe suicidal”. Caller did not know where the individual was at the time and officer Stephen Grover spoke with caller, who said the individual in question could be staying with his step-father in Brockton. Report was filed.

5:49 p.m. – Female motorist called from her cell phone on Hartford Street to report a large ice spot on Hartford Street. The ice was covering one lane of the road. This was on the Main Street end of Hartford Street. Medfield Highway’s Robert Kennedy Jr. was notified and officer Stephen Grover would also check the area.

5:49 p.m. – Female caller from Lord’s Department Store reported a suspicious pickup truck and mini van parked in the back parking lot. Caller wanted an officer to remove them. Officer Grover reported there were five vehicles there and all were removed.

7:45 p.m. – Female motorist called from her cell phone at Main and North Streets to report the traffic lights were not working. Officer Michelle Bento reported there was no problem with the traffic lights. The train just went through the Main Street crossing.

Thursday, Feb. 24:

1:15 a.m. – Individual from Philip Street called to report she was not feeling well and would like to go to the hospital. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

8:10 a.m. – Officer Sallale issued a verbal warning during a motor vehicle stop on Hartford Street.

9:18 a.m. – Animal Control reported a dead deer on Maplewood Road. Highway Department notified for pick up.

12:48 p.m. – Diane Gracia from North Street reported she lost her wallet on the way to work in Norwood. Asked if found to please call her.

7:43 p.m. – Individual from Springvalley Road called by emergency 911 to request an ambulance for his 14-year-old daughter who passed out. EMT responded and reported no transport necessary, situation was cleared.

11:13 p.m. – Woman from South Street called to report her Yellow Lab was missing. If found please call her. Owner was notified at 7:15 a.m. that the dog was at the Medfield Animal Shelter and could be picked up at 8:30 a.m.

11:57 p.m. – Officer Daniel Pellegrini reported out with school buses; bus No. 2 door is open and cannot close door. Morning shift would call the school and report the problem. Desk officer spoke with Elaine Yoke, who will make the call or she will take care of the door to the bus herself.

Friday, Feb. 25:

2:27 a.m. – CSX called to report they have a train broken down on South Street. Officer Christine DiNatale reported the train would be there for about an hour. The railroad crossing was down and incident was cleared.

5:58 a.m. – Emergency 911 call from West Mill Street came in and the line was all static. There was no answer on the call back. Officer Pellegrini notified and reported building was secured and no one was around.

7:07 a.m. – Male motorist called from his cell phone on Noon Hill Road to report road is very icy. There was also a call about similar problem on Dale Street. Edward Hinkley of the Highway Department was notified at 7:09 a.m.

8:48 a.m. – Female motorist called from her cell phone at Main Street in Westwood to request a well-being check on an older man walking in the rain on Main Street by the Dover town line on Route 109 coming into Medfield. Detective John Geary was in the area and checked Route 109 with “no luck.”

10:09 a.m. – Individual from Green Street came into the station to report his car was stolen some time on Monday, Feb. 21 from Green Street. Officer Grover spoke with individual and a report was filed. The gray 2001 Ford Taurus station wagon, plate number: 6HJ-320 was entered into all log books as stolen.

Saturday, Feb. 26:

2:20 a.m. – Caller reported from Route 109 Main Street near Shaw’s that he was broken down. Assured Collision towing notified.

3:28 a.m. – 911 caller reported he would like an ambulance for a possible heart attack. Ambulance transported patient to B.I.D. in Needham.

7:30 a.m. – Female motorist called from her cell phone to report a deer was hit on Main Street after Shaw’s Market and the deer was stuck under a motor vehicle. Desk officer had no luck with Animal Control officer. Officer Grover reported he had to shoot the deer and it was in the front of 292 Main St. Behind NSTAR Pole No. 97. Desk officer notified Robert Kennedy Jr. of Medfield Highway Department. Kennedy sent two men out ASAP to remove it.

8:43 a.m. – Man from North Street called emergency 911 and requested the ambulance for himself. He was having a rectal bleed. Ambulance transported patient to hospital.

1:12 p.m. – Woman called to report from her cell phone that she was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Park Street. Woman said a man hit her car in the parking lot of La-Suprema Cleaners at 24 Park St. Officer Grover helped both parties with their paperwork and both were on their ways.

1:12 p.m. – Individual from Green Street called emergency 911 to request an officer. Woman was cleaning her house and found a gun. Woman would like the gun removed by a police officer. Officer Larz Anderson spoke with woman and removed the BB gun from her house. Report was filed.

5 p.m. – Medfield Animal Shelter called 911 to report a broken pipe by the railroad tracks near Bridge Street. Officer Robert Flaherty notified and David O’Toole notified. Officer Flaherty requested Animal Control to come get the animals and place them somewhere else for the night. Sergeant Burgess requested the fire department and the Sewer Department.

8:21 p.m. – Walpole Police Department called to request assistance at West Street. They would like to talk with someone at that address. Officer notified.

8:24 p.m. – Man called from Cross Street requesting an ambulance because he was having chest pains. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

Sunday, Feb. 27:

12:44 a.m. – Sergeant Lorna Fabbo requested Highway Department be called for snow road conditions. Robert Kennedy notified.

12:38 p.m. – Caller reported two men came to her door selling beef. No permits were issued. Officer Sallale checked the area of Charlesdale Road but individuals were gone on arrival.

1:09 p.m. – Caller reported a group of boys at Upham Road being loud and hanging around the laundry. People in the laundry reported boys were not a problem. Boys left.

1:52 p.m. – Caller reported truck in the area of Grainte Street selling beef. Same truck that was at Charlesdale Road. Walpole Police notified. Officer Sallale pulled motor vehicle over on Juniper. Drivere was warned and sent on his way.

6:18 p.m. – 911 request at Gun Hill Road. Patient was transported to hospital.

6:40 p.m. – Woman from Pleasant Street called to report her boyfriend was having chest pains and would like an ambulance. Patient transported to Norwood Hospital.
