Police Logs, Feb. 2-6

Highlights from daily police and fire logs.

Wednesday, Feb. 2:

 1 p.m. – Male from South Street came into station to report his neighbor was blowing snow over the fence and onto his boat. He wanted an officer to ask the neighbor to stop doing this. Officer Stephen Grover spoke with the home owner.

2:32 p.m. – Jason Lanziero called from his cell phone at 277 South St. to request an officer  because he was locked out of his car. Officer Grover responded and gained access to vehicle.

3:16 p.m. – Caller reported a car was stuck on the island at Main and Nebo Streets. Officer reported Assured Collision responded and assisted in moving the motor vehicle.

11:32 p.m. – Fire Alarm went off at Building 7 on Wilkens Glen Road. Fire Department responded.

11:37 p.m. – Caller reported Carbon Monoxide detector was going off in house at Indian Hill Road. Officer and Fire Department responded. Fire Department reported a faulty detector.

Thursday, Feb. 3:

5:56 a.m. – Fire alarm was going off at Building 7 of Wilkens Glen Road. Fire Department and police officer notified.

7:22 a.m. – Highway Department reported lights were stalk on “Walk” at Route 27 and Main Street. Officer O’Neil responded and reported traffic buttons not stuck but they are going to the walk cycle. He said it did not appear to be a traffic issue at the time.

7:36 a.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle in a snow bank. On Stagecoach and South Streets. Officer Bento reported Highway Department assisted in removal of motor vehicle from snow bank.

7:43 a.m. – Officer reported motor vehicle on Upham Road was blocking traffic. Owner found and moved vehicle.

7:57 a.m. – Officer Bento reported a tow truck struck her motor vehicle.

8:41 a.m. – 911 hang up from the Matthews residence on Vine Brook Road. Owner reported accidental on call back.

10:01 a.m. – Detail officer requested an assist for NStar from the Highway Department for snow removal. Highway Department notified.

10:58 a.m. – School department reported a motor vehicle parked out in the street on Adams Street and buses were unable to go through. Owner moved motor vehicle.

11:13 a.m. – Caller reported snow being pushed across the street. Verbal warning issued for by law violation.

1:23 p.m. – Multiple calls regarding the crossing gate at the tracks. Fire department notified. CSX notified. Desk officer spoke with CSX. Officer requested a tow. Truck was stuck on the tracks, Assure Collision notified. Tow was then cancelled as Highway Department assisted with truck. CSX arrived on scene at 1:46 p.m.

1:54 p.m. – Caller reported a van and a trailer parked on the end of the road. Bus was not able to get through area. Officer reported owner moved vehicle.

1:57 p.m. – Man came into the station with a license plate he found at Wheelock Elementary School. Owner of plate was a Medfield resident on Preservation Way. Plate was returned to owner by Officer O’Neil.

2:37 p.m. – Caller reported a dog was running around the Pond on Green Street. Animal Control notified.

4:25 p.m. – Caller on Granite Street reported she needed to go to a doctor’s appointment but her son would not let her leave. Officers responded but individual at house would not let them in.

5:03 p.m. – CSX reported the railroad crossing had been repaired.

6:21 p.m. – Caller from South Street reported her father of 100 years old needed to be transported to the hospital because he had the flu. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

6:43 p.m. – Westwood Police called to report an erratic driver on Main Street. Vehicle’s owner lives on Frairy Street in Medfield. Officer O’Neil responded but vehicle was gone on arrival.

7:59 p.m. – Salvatore Salvo of 3 Woodbridge Rd. called to report water was in his electric box. Police were notified. Officer O’Neil reported road needed to be plowed as no emergency vehicle was able to pass.

10:12 p.m. – Millis Police called to report a large bag of trash in the road on West Street. Officer Flaherty reported he removed bag to the side of the road and requested Highway Department to pick it up in the morning.

11:00 p.m. – Caller at Wilkens Glen Road reported she was trying to leave building three at Wilkens Glen and the door would not open. Door may have been frozen. Officer responded to assist and opened the door.

Friday, Feb. 4:

12:19 a.m. – Officer reported railroad lights and gates are down. There was no train. Desk officer notified CSX and they notified repairman. Officers. Main Street at Route 27 and North and Main Streets traffic lights were on flash until CSX fixed the crossing. At 12:34 a.m. the Fire Department notified police that the gate was tied up until CSX arrived.

6:04 a.m. – Caller from Pleasant Street reported yelling coming from the apartment near his home. Officers responded and reported it was a verbal argument between mother and son. Report was filed.

7:11 a.m. – Caller reported motor vehicle accident on Main Street with no personal injuries.

7:37 a.m. – Highway Department reported motor vehicle accident; car in a snow bank at Bridge and Main Streets. Officer requested a tow.

7:53 a.m. – State police reported a motor vehicle in a snow bank on Main Street. It was unknown if driver hit a wall or not. Motor vehicle had left scene.

8:41 a.m. – Caller reported there was a strong smell of gas around the foundation of her home on Philip Street. Fire Department was notified.

9:14 a.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident with no personal injury on Hospital Road.

9:50 a.m. – Dover Police requested back up for a house alarm on Draper Road.

9:52 a.m. – Caller reported around 7:30 a.m. her motor vehicle was struck in the rear on Hospital Road. The other driver did not stop. The motor vehicle instead went around her. She was not able to get a full plate number. There was no damage to motor vehicle and just wanted it noted.

11:30 a.m. – Millis Police requested the ambulance mutual aid for a motor vehicle accident. Ambulance reported no transport as subject refused.

1:31 p.m.  –Subject came into station to speak with Officer Bento regarding fraud.

2:17 p.m. – Caller requested an assistance with a lock out at Cumberland Farms on Main Street.

2:27 p.m. – Highway Department requested Zebras be notified to move motor vehicles because plows cannot get through. Zebras were able to move two motor vehicles.

2:32 p.m. – Fire alarm in Building 7 of Wilkens Glen Road was going off. There was a water problem.

4:09 p.m. – Caller from Janes Avenue reported there was a car parked in the handicap spot. Officer responded and car was moved.

4:11 p.m. – Millis police called for Medfield ambulance to go to Ridge Street in Millis for a subject who fell. Ambulance was enroute with patient to Natick Hospital.

7:01 p.m. – Officer reported railroad lights are flashing at the West Mill Street crossing. Desk officer notified CSX and they would notify repairman.

Saturday, Feb. 5:

1:34 a.m. – Emergency 911 caller reported an 87-year-old male was having trouble breathing and requested an ambulance. Ambulance was enroute with patient to Norwood Hospital.

6:41 a.m. – A CVS employee brought in a black bag that belonged to a Needham resident. Owner was contacted and would pick up. Owner picked it up at 2:46 p.m.

10:40 a.m. – Officers Bento and Geary handled funeral escort from funeral home on Miller Street to Vine Lake Cemetery.

11:58 a.m. – Caller reported motor vehicle accident near Lovells with no personal injury. Incident report was filed.

1:17 p.m. – Resident of 29 Hospital Rd. reported a vacant house near his had the detached garage cave in from the weight of the snow. Officers and Fire Department responded and reported they could not get to it because the driveway had not been plowed since the beginning of the season. Building inspector Walter Totoricci notified. He said he didn’t believe there was any power going to it. Fire Chief William Kingsbury reported he contacted the current homeowner and they said they would take care of it in the spring. Building inspector said it was not a hazard.

2:02 p.m. – Caller at Brook Street reported her mother was having a heart attack. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital via ambulance.

7:11 p.m. – Caller reported black ice on Dale Street. Desk officer notified the Highway Department and they were out checking all the roads.

7:34 p.m. – Cell caller reported three kids walking down Hartford Street about one mile down from Route 109. It was very foggy and caller was worried the kids could be hit. Dover Police was notified and said they would check area.

9:37 p.m. – Caller from North Street reported his neighbor on North Street had kids speeding up the driveway. Officers responded and reported there was underage drinking and they would wait for their parents to pick the kids up.

10:30 p.m. – Caller reported she would like an ambulance for her 9-month-old daughter who had a fever of 106 degrees and was vomiting. Ambulance in Walpole responded and transported child to Norwood Hospital.

11:50 p.m. – Nick Farmer of Noon Hill Road reported he was stuck on Noon Hill Road by the pits. Officer, Assured Collision and Highway Department were all notified. Officer DiNatale requested Officer Kearns out at Causeway and Noon Hill Road to block traffic from coming in.

Sunday, Feb. 6:

8:43 a.m. – Caller reported he lives on Pleasant Street and was having water leaking into his apartment. He had been calling management since Thursday and they were not calling him back.

10:14 a.m. – Officer reported the lights are flashing on West and Dale Streets railroad crossing. No train was in the area. CSX notified and would send somebody out. At 1:45 p.m. CSX reported lights were fixed.

11:38 a.m. – Caller reported her boyfriend was not feeling well with possible heart attack. Ambulance from Dover transported patient to Norwood Hospital.
