Police Logs: Ding Dong Ditch, Larceny Arrest and B&E in Westwood

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs from March 8-14.

Thursday, March 8:

6:32 a.m. – Caller from Philip Street at Fairview Road reported a dead deer.

7:35 a.m. – 911 caller reported a person hit by a motor vehicle on Main and Spring Streets. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury cancelled paramedics. Person hit by motor vehicle was transported to Natick Hospital. Medfield Chief of Police Robert E. Meaney Jr. said person was struck by a mirror "associated with a large truck" and "sustained minor injuries." Meaney added the driver did not know he hit the person when Medfield Police talked to him.

9:08 a.m. – 911 caller reported motor vehicle accident on Spring Street with personal injury by St. Edwards Church.

1:58 p.m. - Individual from Partridge Road called to report possible fraud by phone.

5:01 p.m. - Man called from his cell phone behind the Ralph Wheelock School to report kids were riding their dirt bikes in the field and would like them removed. Officer checked the area but reported kids were gone on arrival.

Friday, March 9:

11:40 a.m. - Reports of a fuel leak in front of Town Hall. A tractor-trailer unit was leaking fuel and Assured Collision towing was notified. School Department was notified of possible bus delays due to traffic backup.

2:50 p.m. - Officer spoke to a woman from Pilgrim Lane about information on a larceny that took place on Dec. 27, 2011.

5:26 p.m. - Caller reported she would like to speak to an officer about some vandalism done to her property on Pleasant Street.

Saturday, March 10:

1:09 p.m. - Man called from his cell phone to report a minor motor vehicle crash with no personal injury in the rear parking lot of Lord's Department Store. One vehicle ran into the back of another.

5:59 p.m. - Officer requested the ambulance to check out an employee of Cumberland Farms gas station on Main Street. The individual would like to be checked out. Millis Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

6:32 p.m. - Man called from his cell phone on Pleasant Street to request an officer to check on a party who was setting up their pop-up trailer in the parking lot of Metacomet Park. Officers spoke to the individuals with pop-up trailer. It turned out a homeowner from Curve Street was showing his trailer off and would be removing it in about 20 minutes.

8:19 p.m. - Caller reported a group of boys and girls about 10 to 14 years old ringing doorbells in the area of Indian Hill Road causing a nuisance. Officer was notified and responded but reported the kids were gone on arrival.

Sunday, March 11:

1:10 a.m. - Man came into the station to report a car in the middle of Dale Street at Adams Street. Officer reported a tow truck. He had the owner there with the car. Officer requested speed dry for fluid in the road.

1:35 p.m. - Individual from Indian Hill Road called to report a group of youths skateboarding down the hill. Officer notified and reported he spoke to the youths and they will find a better place to skate.

7:52 p.m. - Caller reported a black man yelling and screaming at another individual in the area of Wilkens Glen Road. Individual just left in a white BMW. At 7:56 p.m., officer reported he was out on Main Street with the BMW. The officer reported all was clear, there was a verbal argument over a girlfriend.

Monday, March 12:

6:22 a.m. - Officer reported a possible water main break on Adams Street near Ace and Acme. Ed Hinkley notified.

1:20 p.m. - Woman from Laurel Drive called emergency 911 to request an officer would like her husband removed. Officer notified.

2:24 p.m. - Alarm came into the station for 59 Frairy St. Fire alarm sounded and police notified. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury reported kitchen out and requested a fan.

2:24 p.m. - Officer reported he was out at Walpole Police Department picking up a Walpole man to book in Medfield on a larceny charge. Joseph Cody OConnell, 25, of 36 Page Ave., Walpole, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250.

Tuesday, March 13:

11:59 p.m. - 911 caller reported she would like the ambulance for her father who is having chest pains. Patient transported to Norwood Hospital.

Wednesday, March 14:

1:06 a.m. - Sherborn Police Department reported a car hit another car and a mailbox and took off down Route 27 towards Medfield. Officer reported vehicle was gone on arrival.

11:04 a.m. - Westwood Police reported they have a breaking and entering going on in the area of High Street and Pond Street in Westwood. They are looking for a heavy set black male wearing a red shirt, blue jeans with a black backpack. Black male is reportedly on foot somewhere in the wooded area. Westwood Police located the black male in the house.

12:39 p.m. - A 49-year-old Medfield man was issued a court summons on a charge of assault and battery of an elder.
