Police Logs: Bomb Scare Transcript

The following is a transcript from the safety log of Sept. 6, the day a bomb threat was called into a local medical office.

Taken from the Medfield Police Department's public safety log:

Thursday, Sept. 6

10:44 a.m, 911 call, suspicious activity, BIDMC (Beth Israel Deaconess) Family Practice Associates, North Street.

Narrative:  Fire alarm, Box 421 sounded for a bomb in a building.  Susan Felton called from BIDMC Family Practice Associates, 50 North St., called by E911 to report they received a call from an unknown male reporting to them "there is a bomb in the building and everyone is going to die." Desk officer told Susan to have the building evacuated; they are doing it now.

10:44 a.m., Fire alarm sounded, Fire Chief Kingsbury and Ambulance 1 enroute

10:48 a.m., Sgt. Wilhelmi and Chief Kingsbury out at scene

10:50 a.m., Officer Anderson out at scene

10:50 a.m., EMTs are out at scene with ambulance

10:54 a.m., Medfield Fire Engine 1 is on scene

10:55 a.m., Sgt. Wilhelmi requests Metro LEC for a bomb dog

10:57 a.m., Desk officer from the Wellesley Police reports Metro LEC has no bomb dog and to call the Mass State Police.

10:58 a.m., Desk officer spoke with Sgt. Mill at the Framingham State Police and he turned me over to Lt. Gullage and she will have her bomb squad team call Sgt. Wilhelmi on scene. St. Wilhelmi was notified, Sgt. Wilhelmi requests the owner of the building, David MacCready, respond to the scene.

11:26 a.m., Desk officer had no luck in calling the owner.

11:31 a.m., Desk officer notified Larry Benesi who is enroute.

11:37 a.m., David MacCready called, he is enroute from Elm St.

12:00 p.m., Det. Geary is clear of the scene.

12:04 p.m., Medfield Fire and ambulance are clear of the scene.

12:04 p.m., Sgt. Wilhelmi reports the Mass State Police cleared the building and all parties are going back into the building.

12:11 p.m., Sgt. Wilhelmi reports he is clear of the scene.

12:14 p.m., Fire Chief Kingsbury is clear of the scene.

12:15 p.m., Officer Anderson is clear of the scene.
