Police Log: Turkey on the Loose, Back Door Scare, Can't Turn Off Alarm

Here's a look at the Medfield safety log for Dec. 27 and Dec. 28.

1:51 p.m., Main Street. Caller reported "the turkey is in the square." The turkey was spotted in the CVS parking lot. Animal Control was notified. The turkey is now at Friendly's Ice Cream.

4 p.m., Main Street. Walk-in report from a Norfolk man who said he was parked in the CVS parking lot on Dec. 19 around 5:30 p.m. and someone went through his vehicle. Several items were stolen.

5:22 p.m., Brook and Green Streets. Caller reported a disabled motor vehicle. Police picked up the driver from Cumberland Farms and took him to his vehicle. He had run out of gas. 

7:57 p.m. Police requested the Highway Department start treating the roads.

8:22 p.m., Spring Valley Road. Caller reported that someone was attempting to kick in the front door of the house. Dover Police sent a car. Police found the house secure but found the rear storm door was not secure and was banging against the house.

8:37 p.m., 10:27 p.m., 10:44 p.m., Wilkins Glen. Callers reported a group of kids playing hockey and making loud noise. Police said all parties have gone home for the night.

10:40 p.m., Loeffler Lane. Caller reports a group of kids in the playground at Wilkins Glen making noise and banging things around. The group is playing hockey and will keep the noise down.

10:40 p.m., Loeffler Lane. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the area, possibly a blue sedan. 

Friday, Dec. 28

2:53 a.m., Farm Street. Caller reported a barking dog somewhere in the neighborhood. Police spoke with the dog owner on Donnelly Drive who brought the dog in for the night.

8:11 a.m., South Street. Police issued a warning for speeding.

8:25 a.m., High Street. Caller reported a possible domestic problem. All appears to be in order.

9:55 a.m., Hearthstone Drive. Medfield Water Department reported a water break on Hearthstone Drive. 

10:12 a.m., North Street. Caller reported an 89-year old man having trouble breathing. Medfield Fire transported him to Norwood Hospital. 

10:29 a.m., Pleasant Street. Caller reported a wire down in front of 29 Pleasant Street. NStar was contacted. 

10:58 a.m., Marlyn Road. Caller spoke to an officer regarding activity by his son and friends.

4:34 p.m., North Street. An employee of Verizon E911 did some work at the police station. 

7:51 p.m., Hearthstone Drive. Several callers in the neighborhood said there is an alarm going off in the area. Police spoke with new homeowners on the street who said the alarm is going off in their new house but they don't have any information regarding the system; they are trying to deactivate it.

9:19 p.m., Brook Street. Caller said her mother is having trouble breathing. Medfield Fire transported her to Norwood Hospital.

11:07 p.m., South Street. Norfolk Police told Medfield Police they are following a red pickup truck into Medfield, Seekonk to South Streets, possible OUI. Walpole Police stopped the vehicle in Walpole.
