Police Log: Stolen Fire Pit, Kids Playing in the Road with Flashlights

The following information was provided by the Medfield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Sept. 6

11:01 a.m.: Shaw's contacted police and requested an ambulance for an employee with a medical problem. EMTs arrived, but the store manager agreed to take the person to Norwood's hospital.

12:20 p.m.: A man came in to police headquarters to report on Main Street, near the Dover line, men were doing work on some property and they keep pulling heavy equipment out on to Main Street, and creating a traffic problem. Police responded but the trucks were gone.

3:37 p.m.: Police received several 911 calls about a crash on North Meadows Road, in which one of the drivers had a seizure. The person was taken to MetroWest Medical Center.

5:04 p.m.: A woman on Rocky Lane reported a sick raccoon was in the road. Police responded and found a skunk that had been hit by a car, but was still alive. The animal control officer arrived and put the animal down.

6:22 p.m.: A woman called 911 to report her 6-year-old son was missing, and had been gone about 15 minutes. Officers were notified. The boy was soon found.

8:12 p.m.: A caller on Knollwood Road reported a group of youths was playing in the middle of the street with flashlights. An officer responded but the kids were gone.

8:48 p.m.: A caller reported hearing eight gunshots on Hartford Street. Officers search the area and found nothing.

Saturday, Sept. 7

8:29 a.m.: A caller on Maplewood Road said he heard gun shots behind his home, possibly coming from North Street. An officer determined the gun shots were coming from the Department of Defense officers, using the Medfield police range.

10:17 a.m.: A caller on Johns Avenue said sometime on Friday, after noon, some one vandalized the portable basketball net she had on the front lawn. It had a value of $500.

1:47 p.m.: A woman called from Pleasant Street to report someone overnight had stolen her fire pit. It had a value of about $100.

4:13 p.m.: A possible domestic disturbance was reported near Carmen Circle. Police found no domestic. It was a landlord-tenant dispute involving an eviction.

5:20 p.m.: A woman reported a possible domestic on Frairy Street. Police found it was nothing.

8:00 p.m.: A caller reported finding a mountain bike in the cemetery. The bike appeared to be expensive.

8:08 p.m.: Dover Police reported they were investigating a report of kids in the woods with a campfire. When they arrived, the youths started running toward Medfield, Hartford Street and Rocky Woods. Police responded,. Two officers found some youths, who said they saw nothing.
