Police Log: Person Struck by Vehicle, A&B Arrest and Theft on West Mill Street

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs from March 1-8.

Thursday, March 1:

8:51 a.m. - Caller from West Mill Street reported an aggressive driver on Route 27 southbound. Walpole notified.

5:15 p.m. – Man called from his cell phone to report a motor vehicle crash at Brook and Green Streets. The two operators might have been having a fight as well. Officer checked the area but reported both vehicles were gone on arrival.

5:26 p.m. – EMT called the station to report he received a call from Arnold Drive about a stray dog to be picked up. Animal Control notified.

10:56 p.m. – Mutual aid for Millis Fire Department, which called to request Medfield ambulance for a man whose arm was bleeding. Ambulance transported patient to Natick.

Friday, March 2:

7:25 a.m.  – Caller reported a motor vehicle struck a stonewall on Pine Street. No injuries sustained and minor damage was reported to the motor vehicle and stonewall. Tow truck was not needed.

3:17 p.m. – EMT and ambulance dispatched to residence on Miller Street for smell of gas in home.

Saturday, March 3:

6:57 a.m. – Woman from Tannery Drive called to report when she was out for a walk in the Medfield cemetery off of Dale Street she came across a gravestone that was knocked over, possibly by a motor vehicle some time overnight. Officer took a look at the s tone and area and filed a report.

11:32 a.m. – Woman called emergency 911 from the Medfield Post Office on North Street to request the ambulance for a man who was hit by a motor vehicle in the front parking lot. Desk officer notified paramedics. EMT later cancelled the paramedics and reported no transport to hospital necessary. Officer reported the man hit was a Medfield resident from Maplewood Road and left the scene under his own control. Report was filed.

6:11 p.m. – Man from Harding Street came into the station with his teenage daughter because the family has been having problems with her. They requested an officer speak with her.

10:53 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident in the area of Green Street. Officers responded and requested the ambulance at 10:56 p.m. Officer requested Assured Collision towing for a motor vehicle as well. Officer later reported no ambulance transport to the hospital needed and would be returning to the station with one under protective custody. Marie G. Tesoro, 51, 37 Meadow Wood Dr., Stoughton was placed in protective custody and charged with drinking alcohol from an open container in a motor vehicle.

Sunday, March 4:

12:28 a.m. – 911 caller reported a prowler trying to break-in to her home on Jacob Cushman Drive. Caller reported intruder assaulted someone on second floor. All units responded. Officer reported no break in or disturbance occurred.

6:57 p.m. – Officer radioed the station to request the ambulance for an 80-year-old woman having difficulty breathing at St. Edwards Church. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

10:22 p.m. – Officer reported his cruiser had a flat tire on North Meadows Road and requested Assured Collision towing to tow the cruiser back to the station.

Monday, March 5:

1:55 a.m. – An individual came into the station to speak to an officer about a woman, who attacked the individual at a house party on Kingsbury Drive. Sergeant Lorna Fabbo requested Millis ambulance to check out the individual she was talking to. Millis ambulance transported patient to LMH Hospital.

2:04 a.m. – Caller via Massachusetts State Police reported he woke up and had blood all over him and he had no idea what happened. Officer and Millis ambulance responded. The call was related to the incident Sergeant Fabbo was handling regarding the individual from a house party on Kingsbury Drive earlier Monday. Officer reported he would like an ambulance to check out this individual and an officer told all involved parties to come into the station and fill out voluntary statements on what happened. Officer reported an ambulance was taking the male subject with blood on him to Norwood Hospital. A friend took the other woman involved to Milford Hospital. 8:55 a.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on High Street by Plain Street. Officer notified and reported a summons was issued to a 29-year-old Framingham resident for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

10:06 a.m. – Caller reported a cement truck on Main Street had lost half of its load. Officer reported it’s a Tresca truck and they have a crew cleaning up. Officer stood by for traffic detail.

11:19 a.m. – Individual from Pine Grove Road came into the station to fill out a statement and was arrested for assault and battery. The individual is a 21-year-old Walpole resident.

Tuesday, March 6:

2:19 a.m. – Caller reported she would like an ambulance for her son, who has a drug problem and needs to go to the hospital. Ambulance responded to Brook Street address. The woman’s son was not arrested, according to Medfield Police Chief Robert E. Meaney Jr. because this was a medical issue and he was transported to LMH Hospital in Natick. Natick Police Department responded to the hospital and is aware he is there as a patient. His future arrest on the outstanding warrants depended upon MetroWest Natick notifying the Natick Police Department that he was being released from the hospital. The woman’s son, a 24-year-old Medfield resident, was issued a court summons on two warrant charges – one in Stoughton and one in Dedham.

7:11 a.m. – 911 caller from Pondview Avenue requested ambulance for a 13-year-old girl who was having a seizure.

7:36 a.m. – Caller reported her mother had fallen and needed medical attention. Officer reported the patient had a significant head injury.

9:12 a.m. – John Wilson Mahoney Jr., 47 of 3 Church St., Medway was arrested in Medfield after a motor vehicle stop at Green and North Streets and charged with operating after license or right to operate was revoked.

4:26 p.m. – Rep from Metro PCS reported a theft from 16 West Mill St. Medfield Chief of Police Robert E. Meaney Jr. said the larceny was a copper grounding bar that was stolen back in October or November and just reported now.

4:40 p.m. – Caller from Minuteman Road reported her son found a briefcase in the woods. Officer was enroute to speak to caller and pickup the briefcase.

Wednesday, March 7:

10:28 a.m. – Sergeant Ray Burton reported he spoke to an employee at Medfield Commons about opening up the gas pumps prior to 6 a.m. He also spoke to the employee about removing the floor displays or open storage of alcoholic beverages from the floors.

Thursday, March 8:

6:32 a.m. – Caller from Philip Street at Fairview Road reported a dead deer.

7:35 a.m. – 911 caller reported a person hit by a motor vehicle on Main and Spring Streets. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury cancelled paramedics. Person hit by motor vehicle was transported to Natick Hospital. Medfield Chief of Police Robert E. Meaney Jr. said person was struck by a mirror "associated with a large truck" and "sustained minor injuries." Meaney added the the driver did not know he hit the person when Medfield Police talked to him.

9:08 a.m. – 911 caller reported motor vehicle accident on Spring Street with personal injury by St. Edwards Church.
