Police Log: Kids Climbing on the Fire Escape, Erratic New Driver

The following information was provided by the Medfield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Sept. 16

9:03 a.m.: A man walked in to police headquarters and asked for assistance in dealing with a situation with his ex-girlfriend, concerning their daughter.

5:15 p.m.: A caller on Garry Drive said he left his wallet on the fender of his pickup truck, and then left home and drove up South Street to Main Street. He has checked the streets he was on but cannot find the wallet.

9:57 p.m.: A caller on High Street reported she heard what sounded like a crash. She reported a vehicle had struck a tree in front of her house. She said she'd go out and check for injuries. Police responded, as did EMTs. No one was taken to the hospital.

Tuesday, Sept. 17

7:27 a.m.: A caller reported a Lincoln had hit the pillar at the Gulf station on Main Street. Police responded. No one was hurt in the mishap.

7:38 p.m.: Police received a report of an erratic driver on Main Street westbound. Police found it was a driver on a learner's permit.

Wednesday, Sept. 18

10:25 a.m.: A caller asked police to remove someone from a Park Street address. Police then received a call from an investigator from the Department of Industrial Accidents Board, who asked to speak to police. An officer responded and restored peace.

12:05 p.m.: A caller on Main Street reported a disabled car was blocking traffic at Routes 109 and 27. Police responded. The owner of the car pushed it into the Cumberland Farms lot to await a tow.

1:11 p.m.: Police received a complaint about a truck blocking traffic on Harding Street. An officer reported the truck was on West Street, and would be moved soon.

2:11 p.m.: A woman walked in to police headquarters and said a large tree had fallen on a play area on Green Street. The tree warden was notified.

3:00 p.m.: A caller in the Minuteman Road area said construction trucks that are working on the road are speeding up and down Cheney Pond Road all day long. He asked police to enforce traffic laws.

4:00 p.m.: A caller told police that kids were climbing the fire escape behind the Larkins Building on North Street. An officer was dispatched to check it out. He spoke with a group of kids, and told them to leave the area.

6:58 p.m.: Police arrested Michelle J. Vieira, 20, of 1 John Crowder RD., Medfield, on a charge of shoplifting more than $100 by concealing merchandise.
