Police Log Including One Arrest and a Carful of Kids Partying on Noon Hill Road

Here is a look inside the town's safety logs for Oct. 12 and 13.

Friday, Oct. 12

11:00 a.m., Main Street. A motorist told a detail officer that the railroad crossing gates were stuck down on Main Street and the traffic was backing up. CSX was notified. Fire Chief Kingsbury tied up the gates. All officers were helping with traffic. CSX arrived at the scene at 11:31 a.m. The gates were working again by 11:40 a.m.

12:21 p.m., Main Street. Caller reported a motor vehicle crash in the Marshall's parking lot; no personal injury.

12:30 p.m., Pound Street. A fire alarm went off at the Blake Middle School. Police and fire officials discovered the cause of the smell was a burned out heat motor in the ventilation system. To read more, click here.

6:40 p.m., Harding Street. A 911 caller reported a motor vehicle accident with property damage near Harding and West Streets.

7:44 p.m., Main Street. Marshall's Department Store reported a three-year-old girl was missing in the store. Three minutes later the store called police to say they found the girl.

Saturday, Oct. 13

2:01 p.m., Marlyn Road. Walpole police called about a Marlyn Street resident who was in a car accident in Walpole and they wanted to make sure he made it home.

7:47 a.m., Peter Kristoff Way. American Legion Beckwith Post #110 manager reported that sometime over night someone threw a handicap parking sign through the front glass doors.

8:49 a.m., Lantern Lane. Caller reported a possible break-in at her house.

12:37 p.m., Frairy Street. Caller reported trouble overnight with people vandalizing cars. 

5:28 p.m., North Meadows Road. Caller reported hearing gunshots. She knows there is a range in the area but she said a fisherman said a round went over his head and he saw hunters in the area. Police spoke with hunters who were leaving.

6:16 p.m., Main Street. Caller reported his car was hit while parked at the library today. A witness left a note on his car with info about the car that hit him. 

9:23 p.m., Noon Hill Road. Police were out with a car on Noon Hill Road at the South Street end. All youths were picked up by their parents and one of the parents drove the car home.

10:45 p.m., Donnelly Drive. Caller reported she heard a loud bang outside her house; a neighbor called about the same thing. Police then followed a trail from the car down Long Meadow Road. An off-duty Medfield firefighter called to say a silver car just went by his house and it looked like it had damage to it. Police said the transformer that is in front of one of the houses was knocked off its cement pad, resulting in the arrest of a 45-year old Westwood man who was charged with leaving the scene of property damage.
