Police Log: House Break, Broken Gas Line, Alarming Cook, and More

Here's a glance at the Medfield safety log for Nov. 29 and Nov. 30.

Thursday, Nov. 29

5:45 a.m., North Street. Caller reported no water. The water department was notified.

9:37 a.m., North Street and Deerfield Drive. Traffic enforcement resulted in two citations.

1:27 p.m., Westview Road. Alarm company reports an alarm going off on this street. Medfield Fire determined it was accidental by someone cooking.

2:41 p.m., North Street and Deerfield Drive. Several callers reported a three-car crash with personal injury. Dover and Westwood provided mutual aid. Drivers were transported to hospital. Cars involved were a 2012 Lincoln, 2008 Audi, and 2009 Volvo.

7:16 p.m., Haven Road. E911 caller reported his home was broken into. 

9:30 p.m., Hearthstone Drive. Medfield Fire investigated an alarm on this street.

Friday, Nov. 30

10:31 a.m., Main Street. E911 caller reported the fire and smoke alarms going off in all the units. Medfield Fire investigated.

11:14 a.m, Wichita Road. Caller reported a strong smell of gas in the home. Police investigated.

11:27 a.m., Miller Street. The funeral home requested a police escort to the Millis town line. 

12:34 p.m., Main Street. Alarm company reported a fire alarm. Police determined it was smoke due to cooking.

12:54 p.m., Marlyn Road. Caller requested the Animal Control Officer for a squirrel in her fireplace. Animal Control removed the squirrel.

1:07 p.m., North Street. Detail officer reported that the workmen broke a gas line in front of 152 North Street. A detour was created and Columbia Gas responded. 

2:01 p.m., South Street. Traffic enforcement resulted in six verbal warnings.

3:54 p.m. A private investigator notified the police department he would be working in town.

5:10 p.m., Oak Street and South Street. Caller reported a car accident with personal injury.  He said an "older woman" hit an NStar pole and broke it in half. NStar responded. Westwood provided mutual aid. The woman was taken to Norwood Hospital. The woman was driving a 1998 Toyota which was towed. 

6:40 p.m., Main Street. Caller reported an erratic driver entering Medfield. Gone on arrival.

7:54 p.m., Green Street. Officer reported he removed two kids and their vehicle (a green Buick Century) from the area of the Medfield Swim Pond. 

9:24 p.m., High Street and Garry Drive. Walpole Police reported there was a disabled motor vehicle in this area with no one around. Medfield Police found two women with the vehicle. The women said they called their roadside assistance company but it could be an hour. Police called a wrecker who removed the vehicle.

9:44 p.m., Newport Lane. Caller reported a possible house party on this street. Police did not find a party.
