Police Log: Car Speeding Past a School Bus, Loose Dogs

The following information was provided by the Medfield Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 7

3:42 p.m.: A caller on Lakewood Drive said two dogs were walking around loose, a yellow and a black lab. An animal control officer responded.

3:53 p.m.: A caller said one of the flags on the telephone poles on Route 27, near Cumberland Farms, was touching the ground. Police picked up the flag and brought it to the Fire Department.

Tuesday, Oct. 8

3:32 a.m.: A caller said a deer was on Route 138 South, and still alive. Police responded and put the deer down. The Highway Department responded.

8:41 a.m.: A caller on Orchard Street said he was moving that day but the moving truck would not fit in his driveway. An officer reported it needed a detail officer for traffic.

12:40 p.m.: A caller on North Street said that for the past two hours, a dog had been barking in the neighborhood. An animal control officer responded and found the dog was fine. He had water and a house.

8:36 p.m.: A man walked in to the police station and said a man has come to his house and said he used to live there, and wanted to see the inside. The owner told the man no, and the person left.

9:25 p.m.: A caller on Johns Avenue reported a loose brown dog. Police checked but could not find the animal.

Wednesday, Oct. 9

7:12 a.m.: A caller on Bunker Road reported two dogs were running loose. The call was referred to the animal control officer.

7:38 a.m.: A caller on Donnelly Drive said a speeding car had passed a school bus. Police responded and the car was parked at Dover Sherborn High School. Police were investigating.

5:13 p.m.: Police received four 911 calls from a resident of the Thomas Upham House. The elderly woman who called each time said she wanted 411. A dispatcher notified the staff, who said they spoke to the woman and told her that she was calling police on an emergency line.

6:06 p.m.: A caller reported he heard gun shots near Rocky Woods. An officer checked the area and found nothing.

7:10 p.m.: Noon Hill Grill reported a man at the restaurant had fainted, then came to. Police responded. The issue was low blood sugar. No transport was required.

8:35 p.m.: Firefighters were investigating a smoke complaint on Pleasant Street at Medfield Gardens. The source was cooking.
