Police Log: Escaped Convict and House Break on Main Street

Friday, Nov. 2
6:54 a.m., Blacksmith Drive. Caller complained about speeders on the street.
7:16 a.m., Main Street. Traffic enforcement on Main Street at Robert Sproul Road.

7:36 a.m., North Street. Traffic enforcement on North Street at Dale Street.
7:49 a.m., North Street. Officer said a motorist told him about an open front door to a house in the area. Police said no one was home and they secured the door.

9:50 a.m., Blacksmith Drive. A concrete company called police to say that one of their drivers took down a power line near Blacksmith Drive and Marlyn Road. NStar was notified but it was discovered it was actually a cable wire so NStar was cancelled and Verizon was notified.
10:08 a.m., Main Street. A 911 caller said that someone broke into her house through the basement.
1:22 p.m., Main Street. Police received notice from the Norfolk Police of a work detail walk-away from the Department of Correction in Norfolk. Juan Lugo, 47, was last seen leaving in a blue Dodge Caravan, late 90s model, with three people inside including an Hispanic female. He was later apprehended in Holyoke. He was serving 12-14 years for armed burglary.
