One Arrest, Scam Calls from FBI, Car Hits Tree, and More

Here's a look at the Medfield police log from Aug. 21 and Aug. 22. 

Wednesday, Aug. 21

12:49 a.m., Harding Street. E911 caller asked for an ambulance due to a diabetic reaction. Medfield Ambulance took patient to Needham. 

9:07 a.m., Main and Causeway Streets. Police discovered a small concrete spill. The company was notified.

9:34 a.m., Brook Street. Caller reported a white dog with no collar running around the area. Animal Control was notified. 

10:12 a.m., Causeway Street. E911 caller reported a car accident near Noon Hill Road after a 2001 Nissan Altima hit a tree. Car was towed. Police gave the driver a ride home to Oak Street. 

11:05 a.m., Tamarack Road. Caller said he received a call from a man saying he was his son and was in a bad accident in Panama and needed money. Caller knew it was a scam. 

12:28 p.m., Main Street. Caller reports a paper sign with indecent language hanging from the railroad crossing lights on Main Street. Police and fire departments took it down. 

1:34 p.m., Pleasant Street. Walk-in report from a woman who said she returned a Publishers' Clearinghouse letter back to the company with her information on it. Since then, she has received several calls from different numbers saying she has won money. One caller (with a 202 area code) said he was from the FBI and when police called the number, the voicemail said "Federal Bureau of Investigation." When they called back to the police station, they hung up. 

8:10 p.m., Sanders Way. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the area. Police said it as the MASSPIRG worker filling out paperwork.

9:53 p.m., Johns Avenue. Caller said there are unwanted people at her home and she wanted them removed. Medfield Police and Ambulance responded. One person was taken to Norwood with a police escort.

Thursday, Aug. 22

12:01 a.m., Trailside Road. Police received three calls about a loud party in the area; one caller said the kids were all underage. Police spoke with the parents and the party was broken up. 

1:51 a.m., Trailside Road. Police arrested Dennis D. Etzkorn, 52 of 10 Trailside Road, for a warrant issued from Dorchester District Court. 

10:28 a.m., Ice House Road. E911 caller requested an ambulance for a 70-year-old woman having an allergic reaction.
