More than 100 Pounds of Drugs Were Dropped Off at the Police Station on Saturday

Town officials say this year's Drug Take Back Day yielded nearly five leaf bags full of drugs.

This year's "Drug Take Back Day" resulted in 107 pounds of drugs turned over to the DEA for destruction, according to a report by Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr.

"This translates to approximately 5 leaf collection sized bags of drugs that are no longer a hazard to our community and especially to our young people," he said in a press release on the town's website on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The Medfield Police Department maintains a drug collection container just inside the front door of the station. The container can be accessed 24 hours a day and is completely anonymous. We do not have the ability to collect needles or other types of sharps.
