Model Airplane Flyer Gets Lost, Airing Out the House, Car Break, and More

Friday, July 19

7:10 a.m., Stuart Street. Police responded to a family disturbance. Peace was restored.

9 a.m., Granite Street. Caller (age 33) asked for an ambulance for himself because he was having chest pains. Medfield Ambulance took him to Norwood Hospital. 

9:55 a.m., Miller Street. Police provided an escort from Mitchell Funeral Home to Vine Lake Cemetery.

11:02 a.m., Janes Avenue. Walk-in report of an unlocked business. Police notified the owner.

11:12 a.m., Philip Street.  Police received an accidental E911 call. Confirmed accidental.

1 p.m., Gun Club Road and Country Way. Caller requested extra drive checks in the area.

1:10 p.m., Harding Street. Caller requested for Animal Control because her cat was stuck between the inner and outer walls of her house. Medfield Animal Control was not available so Dover Animal Control responded.

1:40 p.m., Green Street. Walk-in report from a woman who said someone broke into her car at Hinkley Swim Pond before 10 a.m. today.

1:53 p.m., Spring Street. E911 caller asked for an ambulance for a cancer patient who is vomiting. Medfield Ambulance took the patient to Norwood Hospital.

6 p.m., Main Street. Medfield Fire reported they are in CVS’ back parking lot where a fuse or wire has come apart between two NSTAR polls and it is the only pole with a transformer in it. NSTAR responded.

7:39 p.m., North Street. Caller reported a large branch in the road on North Street that is blocking traffic by the Dover town line. Medfield and Dover police moved the branch to the side of the road.

Saturday, July 20 

12:02 a.m., North Street. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle stopped in front of her house. Gone on arrival. 

7:30 a.m., Hillcrest Road. Caller asked to speak to an officer because she discovered a mailbox and post laying across the top of her vehicle in the driveway.  Police returned the mailbox to its Belknap Road address.

7:54 a.m., Adams Street. Caller asked police to check a home on Adams Street because she noticed both front doors were open and no one was around. Police spoke with the homeowner who said he was just airing out his home.

9:32 a.m., Hillcrest and Belknap Roads. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the area. Gone on arrival.

10:18 a.m., Pound Street. E911 caller asked for an ambulance at Tilden Village for her neighbor with an unknown problem.  She was taken to Needham Hospital.

11:27 a.m., Hospital Road. Cell phone caller asked for help because he was lost. He said he was out flying his model airplane in the field off Hospital Road, it went down in the woods near the Charles River, he went into the woods to get it, and now he is lost “somewhere along the bank of the Charles River.” Police told him to stay where he is and the Medfield Fire Department would find him which they did at 11:57 a.m. 

5:49 p.m., Spring Street. Traffic control at St. Edward’s Church.

8:51 p.m., Adams Street. Caller reported suspicious activity and asked the fire chief to meet him in front of the playground at the Memorial School.
