Medfield Police Release Identity of Man Found in Charles River Saturday

Thomas F. Galloway, 71 of Upton, died Saturday searching for a model plane in Medfield. Cause of death remains unknown.

Medfield Police released the identity of the man found in the Charles River on Saturday, June 25 Monday after notifying the family. 

Thomas F. Galloway, 71, of Upton, was . 

Cause of death remains under investigation and Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr. said it would be "several days" before he heard anything from the medical examiner's office.

Galloway, according to his obituary on the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home's website, was the founder and president of Mustang Microsystems in Hopkinton. He was born in Detroit, Mich. and grew up in Rochester, Mich., where he graduated Avondale High School and later earned a degree from Dean College in Franklin. 

Galloway leaves his wife, Elizabeth A. (Generazio) Galloway, three daughters: Tami Harris of Northbridge and Teri Arcaro and Tracey Hosford of Franklin, according to the obituary. He also leaves behind three stepchildren: Joseph Terlizzi of Uxbridge, Louis Terlizzi of Slatersville, R.I. and Nita Wilding; two brothers: William and Timothy Galloway and a sister, Nancy Strohschein, all of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Galloway's family described him as someone who always put others before himself,an avid race fan and a family man who loved a good laugh. 

According to Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home, Galloway's funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 29 at 10 a.m. in the Williams-Pedersen Funeral Home on 45 Main St., Upton, followed by cremation. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, June 28 from 6 to 9 p.m.
