Medfield Police Logs: Sept. 19-25

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, Sept. 19:

7:14 a.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Indian Hill Road. Officer requested a tow for two motor vehicles.

7:34 a.m. – Caller reported he was just side swiped on Dale Street and North Meadows Road. Other motor vehicle left the scene. He will be in after work this afternoon to have an officer check his motor vehicle.

8:49 a.m. – Caller reported she thinks someone may have tried to break into the office at Medfield Orthodontics on Main Street. Officer spoke to the caller and inspected the office and door.

12:10 p.m. – Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury walked into the Medfield Police Station and said the ambulance is taking care of a walk-in medical. Ambulance transported patient to Needham.

12:12 p.m. – Man from Elm Street walked into the station and said his wife just sent him a message that their daughter ran away from home. Desk officer contacted woman and she said the daughter just returned home. Woman said if she needed further assistance she would call.

4:53 p.m. – Man walked into the station and turned in an iPod he found Saturday at Medfield Day on North Street. On Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 8:51 a.m., the owner of the iPod came into the station to pick it up.

5:19 p.m. – Woman walked into the station to report around 7:27 a.m. Monday she had an accident with another vehicle. She pulled up the street and stopped but the other vehicle kept going. Officer talked with woman.

7:55 p.m. – Man from Granite Street called to request the Animal Control Officer for a squirrel in his fireplace. Animal Control officer notified and will call him back.

Tuesday, Sept. 20:

12:26 a.m. – CSX called to report the train will be blocking Cottage Street railroad crossing and Frairy Street. The crew was walking the rack and would call when done. At 12:55 a.m., CSX called back to say the train was clear from the tracks.

12:40 a.m. – Caller reported a car parked on Cottage Street at Friary Street at the railroad tracks. Woman reported the car lights had just shut off. Officer was notified and spoke to caller. Car was reported waiting for the train.

12:44 a.m. – Caller from Green Street reported a strange car in front of her neighbor’s house. Officer was out there and reported the individual was picking up another individual at the house.

5:54 a.m. – Caller reported some type of animal in the roadway on Hartford Street. Desk officer reported another car came into the station about this. The caller reported it was just past Walpole Street. Dover Police was notified. Officer checked the area and reported Westwood Animal Control had the dog.

10:16 a.m. – Medfield Police received a letter of disinvite from a man on Spring Street against his sister on Water Street in Walpole.

12:32 p.m. – Officer reported a minor motor vehicle accident on North and Main Streets. Another officer reported the area was checked but vehicles were gone on arrival.

5:21 p.m. – Columbia Gas Company called for an odor of gas at the pumping station on Hawthorne Drive. Ed Hinkley called out to open gates.

5:24 p.m. – Animal Control officer reported she picked up a stray dog on Harding Street and brought it to the Medfield Animal Shelter.

6:58 p.m. – Officer was out with a motor vehicle stop on Robinson Road and Spring Street. Citation issued.

8:28 p.m. – Millis Police called and asked if Medfield Police could have a car meet its unit at Upham Road because they have a woman who had an argument with her husband at Roches Brothers in Millis and she started walking home. Millis Police picked the woman up and gave her a ride home. They wanted to make sure all was OK at the address. Officer reported no problem.

10:51 p.m. – Caller reported from Paddock Lane a dog had been barking for awhile on Harding Street near the railroad tracks. Officer notified and reported there was a dog on the back porch of a Harding Street residence and nobody was home.

Wednesday, Sept. 21:

1:58 a.m. – Caller reported her husband fell and broke his arm on Bridlefield Lane and she would like the ambulance to check him out. No transport to the hospital was necessary.

10:11 a.m. – Caller from Ice House Road called to request the ambulance. The ambulance responded and transported patient to Needham.

12:09 p.m. – Caller reported a stray dog on Pheasant Road. Animal Control officer notified and responded.

1:16 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Upham Road.

5:15 p.m. – Woman called from her cell phone to repot a large box in the road on North Street after the school going to Dover. The vehicles were driving around it in the wrong lane. Officer checked the area of North Street to the Dover town line and reported it was gone on arrival.

5:19 p.m. – Sergeant John Wilhelmi was on traffic enforcement on Main and Pound Streets. Reported no citations were issued.

6:11 p.m. – Woman called from her cell phone in the parking lot of Cumberland Farms gas station at 560 Main St. to request the ambulance. A man was reported passed out at the gas station. Desk officer notified events paramedics, which were enroute. Paramedics were out on the scene at 6:20 p.m. Ambulance transported patient to Needham Hospital.

7:17 p.m. – Woman came into the Medfield Police station to report a car that was parked in the street across from the Medfield Fire Department backing up traffic on North Street because no one can get by the vehicle. Sergeant John Wilhelmi and officer Larz Anderson spoke with the motor vehicle’s operator and she said she “just overshot her driveway.”

8:46 p.m. – Medfield Water Department reported it would be out flushing fire hydrants Wednesday night in the areas of South Street, Rocky Lane and Granite Street.

Thursday, Sept. 22:

7:15 a.m. – Man from Charlesdale Road called to report his father was dizzy and would like the ambulance. Ambulance notified and transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

7:40 a.m. – Officer reported he was out on traffic enforcement on Knollwood Road. No citations were issued.

9:08 a.m. – Emergency 911 call came in from the Town Hall elevator. Ambulance notified and reported the alarm was a test and all is set.

9:57 a.m. – Officer reported he had a search warrant and three cell phones he was taking to the Metro-LEC computer lab in Norwood.

10:43 a.m.  – Man from Sanders Way called emergency 911 to report he thought someone was trying to break into his house. Officer notified and reported it looked like someone put something in the front door. At 11:05 a.m., the man called back to report he still hears noises. Officer notified and reported he would stand by until the father gets there. He was on his way.

10:58 a.m. – Woman called from Tilden Village on Pound Street to report her father has been on the floor all night and would like the ambulance. Ambulance transported patient to Natick.

11:49 a.m. – Man’s daughter at Summer Street called to report the man fell and needs help up. Officer notified. No medical transport was needed as patient refused.

12:09 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on North Street into a stonewall. There were no personal injuries suffered. Officer notified and requested Assured Collision towing (AAA). Officer gave an individual a ride to Cumberland Farms.

2:43 p.m. – A woman from Medfield’s Town Hall called and requested to see an officer because a man was there in a basement office, who may have been drunk and she would like him checked out and removed from the Town Hall. Sergeant and officer spoke with the parties at Town Hall and the man is now walking east on Main Street.

8:52 p.m. – Man called from the Medfield Water Department to report they will be out flushing fire hydrants on Indian Hill Road.

9 p.m. – Dispatcher from Ashland Police called Medfield Police to request Medfield send an officer to Shaw’s Market at 230 Main St. The Dean of Schools from Ashland called Ashland Police from her cell phone in the Shaw’s parking lot t report a large group of kids were getting into their cars with toilet paper and maybe going to Ashland High School to toile paper their schools. The Medfield football team played Ashland Friday night (Sept. 23). Officer checked the area with no luck. Desk officer called Ashland Police to let her know.

Friday, Sept. 23:

6 a.m. – Officer was out on Hartford Street doing traffic enforcement and issued two citations.

6:28 a.m. – An individual came into the station to report a possible water leak on Harding Street just past Hospital Road. Desk officer notified Highway Department, which said it would handle. Officer reported it was in front of 112 Harding Street.

7:15 a.m. – Woman called from her home on Ledgetree Road to request an officer check on a gray pickup truck that was driving around the streets of ledgetree and Hillcrest Roads. Sergeant reported he checked all the streets in the area for the gray pickup truck with no luck.

7:24 a.m.  – Ed Hinkley called to request an all day detail officer for the Medfield Water Department for a water break at 112 Harding St.

8:27 a.m. – Woman from Orchard Street came into the station and requested to speak to an officer about some high school kids that have been harassing her. Woman spoke with someone at Medfield High School, who told her to come to the Medfield Police and report the same It is the Medfield kids sports teams that are toilet papering her house.

9:35 a.m.  – Animal Control officer was enroute to a residence on 16 Stoneybrook Dr. to remove an animal from the basement.

10:18 a.m. – Ed Hinkley from the Water Department came into the station to report he will be closing the road at 112 Harding St. for the water break. They have to go across the road. Medfield High School was notified and Dover Police will notify Dover Sherborn High School as well. Medfield Fire Department was also notified. At 1:47 p.m., Sergeant John Wilhelmi reported the road is now open for one-way traffic.

1:01 p.m. – Woman called emergency 911 from Shaw’s to request the ambulance for a woman in her 20’s that had been vomiting and would like to go to the hospital. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

1:26 p.m. – Man called from his cell phone to report four to five trucks parked in the road in the area of Philip Street and it is a problem for vehicles to get by the trucks. Officer spoke with one of the truck drivers, who said they would have all the trucks and trailers removed from the street.

3:43 p.m. – Individual from North Street came into the station and requested to see the Animal Control officer. Man has a squirrel living in the wall of his house and would like it removed.

4:24 p.m. – Woman called for her daughter to report she was in a motor vehicle crash with no personal injury on Robert Sproul Road.

8:52 p.m. – Man from the Medfield Water Department called to report they will be flushing fire hydrants in the Belknap Road area.

Saturday, Sept. 24:

2:24 a.m. – Station received a 911 call for a motor vehicle accident on Hartford Street, just past Rocky Woods. No injuries reported.

4:20 a.m. – Caller reported loud party in the area of Millbrook Road. Officer reported both units are out at the party and advised them to keep the noise down and to go inside.

7:45 a.m. – Man called from his cell phone to request the ambulance at the Medfield Coin Laundry at 503-R Main St. for a man, maybe 70 years old, who could be having heart problem. Desk officer notified events paramedics. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

4:32 p.m. – Woman called from her cell phone to report they are having a block party on Erik Road, which they had a permit from the Medfield Town Hall to have on Sept. 24. The woman reported two speeding cars and one van down the street. Officer spoke with one party there and reported no cars in the area at the time. The roads were blocked off.

5:32 p.m. – Officer reported he was out with a motor vehicle in the parking lot of CVS on Main Street. Officer spoke with the parties in the car because they threw trash in the parking lot and they did pick up all the trash.

6:06 p.m. – 52-year-old Dedham woman was issued a summons for operating after revocation of registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after a motor vehicle stop on Main Street by Robert Sproul Road.

8:44 p.m. – Woman called from her cell phone to report she almost hit some kids riding their skateboards on the side of the road on Main Street by Millbrook Road. Officer checked the area for the skateboarders but reported they were gone on arrival.

10:51 p.m. – Caller reported he hit a tire that was in the middle of the road on Route 27 at South Street and he had damage to the car and returned home. Officer checked the area and spoke to the caller. Officer reported he could not locate the tire.

Sunday, Sept. 25:

8:33 a.m. – Employee from Shaw’s reported a possible drunk driver heading west on Route 109. Officers notified and checked Route 109 to Millis line with no luck.

1:51 p.m. – Caller reported a dog locked in the car with no open windows. Animal Control officer notified but the motor vehicle had left the Shaw’s parking lot.
