Medfield Police Logs: Oct. 7-12

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Friday, Oct. 7:

8:55 a.m. – Caller requested an assist on Lincoln Road as his wife had fallen and needs help getting up.

9:17 a.m. – Environmental Police reported they had an officer on patrol with an ATV along the Charles River.

9:44 a.m. – Caller requested an ambulance for a child with a shoulder dislocation. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient. Parent was with child.

9:49 a.m.  –Man came into the station to report a hit deer on North Street at the Dover town line. Animal Control notified. Deer was reported still alive but badly injured. Animal Control officer said she had to put it down. Highway Department notified to pick up.

2:18 p.m. – Caller requested an officer in regard to a hit and run that took place near the Gulf Station and car wash on Main Street. Officer stopped the vehicle that hit the caller’s vehicle. Incident and accident reports were filed.

3:49 p.m. – Woman from Indian Hill Road called to request Animal Control for a bat in her house she would like removed.

4:09 p.m. – Man called from his cell phone on North Street to report a large branch in the road. Desk officer could not reach Ed Hinkley but sergeant Ray Burton reported someone had moved the branch out of the road.

4:40 p.m. – Man from Knollwood Road called and requested to see an officer about some kids assaulting his 10-year-old son at the Medfield High School football game on Sept. 30. Officer spoke with the man and filed a report.

5:25 p.m. – Desk officer from Millis Police Department called to request mutual aid by Medfield ambulance to report to Stoneybrook Drive apartment complex for a party there who was having heart problems in the driveway. At 5:34 p.m., the mutual aid call was cancelled by Millis.

5:50 p.m. – Man from Kenney Road called to request to see an officer about his neighbor on Lilac Lane going onto his property and cutting down his trees and some branches. Sergeant Ray Burton spoke with the man and reported no problem. Man spoke with his neighbor.

Saturday, Oct. 8:

8:49 a.m. – Employee from Sunoco gas station on Main Street called to report a drive off. Officer ran the plate but no matching record was found. Station was notified.

4:33 p.m. – Detail officer reported stop sign on Stagecoach Road was completely blocked by tree branches. Highway Department was notified and they said they would have someone clear the sign.

8:04 p.m.  – Officer reported he would be out on Main Street by Shaw’s with a motor vehicle stop. Officer requested Assured Collision towing because operator was unlicensed. A summons was issued to the 51-year-old Milford individual for operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Sunday, Oct. 9:

12:59 a.m. – Officer reported he would be out on Route 27 at the Irving Station with a motor vehicle stop. Officer issued summons to 21-year-old Foxborough woman for speeding in violation of special regulation and operating after license or right to operate was suspended.

11:43 a.m. – Caller reported a lost dog behind the Wheelock School on Elm Street. Officer notified but reported dog was gone on arrival.

1:30 p.m. – Caller reported a possible motor vehicle accident involving a car and a bicycle on Main Street at North Meadows Road. Officer and first-responders notified. Officer reported woman fell off her bike and there was no problem.

2:50 p.m. – Woman from Spring Street called to report her dog missing. Dog was described as a long black hair mix. At 3:21 p.m., woman called to report her dog was returned home.

3:47 p.m. – Woman from Johns Avenue called to request to see an officer because she was having a minor problem with her son. The son had his mother’s cell phone charger and would not return it. Officer reported peace was restored.

5:03 p.m.  – Man called to request an officer to remove the individuals riding their dirt bikes in the sand pits behind the Ralph Wheelock School on Elm Street. Officer reported they all took off down the railroad tracks.

5:40 p.m. – Employee of CVS on Main Street reported a large green trash bag in the woods behind the pharmacy. It had been there for a while and there was an “awful smell coming from it.” Officer reported there were dead fish in the bag.

11:21 p.m. – Desk officer from Dover Police Department called to request an officer close off Route 109 and send the traffic down Draper Road to Hartford Street. They had a motor vehicle crash on County Street and the operator of the vehicle took off into the woods. Officer reported Route 109 at Draper Road was closed.

Monday, Oct. 10:

6:18 a.m. – Caller from Main Street reported noise coming from Lueders Tree Company on Brook Street. This has happened in the past and they start working on their trucks around 6 a.m. Sergeant reported he would stop by and see the caller. Officer reported he checked the Brook Street area out and reported Lueders Tree Company is warming up their trucks and it is not that loud. Sergeant reported he spoke with the caller about this and the noise and what they may be able to do about it. The only noise was a trash truck in the complex picking up trash.

9:04 a.m. – Man from Haven Road walked into the station to report Sunday night there was a party going on at 15 Homestead Drive. When he left his house Monday, he noticed the spray paint in the roadway. He got a plate number and it came back to an individual from Westwood. A passenger in that vehicle reportedly did the spray painting. Officer will call the parents.

3:44 p.m. – Individual from Willow Circle called to request an officer to check on some young kids walking into the street selling lemonade on Spring Street by Woodridge Road. They may get hit by cars. Officer reported the kids are at Robinson Road and Spring Street. There was no problem with them and they are reportedly off the road.

4:04 p.m. – Woman from Spruce Way called to request to see Animal Control about an injured crow on her lawn. Animal Control responded.

5:17 p.m. – Woman from Wilkens Glen Road called from her cell phone in front of Larkin’s Package Store on North Street. Woman would like to see an officer about a worker in Larkin’s Package Store giving her son and friends a bad time. Officer reported he spoke with the woman and her son and her two friends. The door was locked to Larkin’s Package Store so the officer would stop back at a later time and speak with the manager about what took place out front of the store.

8:31 p.m. – Man called emergency 911 from Adams Street to request an officer. Man was having a problem with his 15-year-old son, who was breaking things in the house and went outside by their mailbox and knocked it over. Officers spoke with the man and his son. Peace was restored.

10:09 p.m. – Woman came into the station from Ledgetree Road and wanted to file a report. She said she received a phone call from a man that said he was a police officer and had her husband. She told the man that he could not have her husband because the husband was standing right next to her. Officer spoke with the woman and left a message for the man who called claiming to be a police officer. No one answered so the officer left a message.

Tuesday, Oct. 11:

5:44 a.m. – Officer reported he was on traffic enforcement detail on West Street at Bridge Street and issued one citation.

7:07 a.m. – Man came into the station to report he was a private investigator for Attorney General Martha Coakley and would be working in town for the day.

7:34 a.m. – Officer reported she was out on traffic enforcement detail on Knollwood Road and issued no citations.

11:41 a.m.  – Sergeant reported he was on traffic enforcement detail on North Street and Deerfield Drive and issued two citations.

1:20 p.m. – Woman called from her cell phone in the parking lot of 258 Main St. to report someone just hit her car and took off on Route 109. Woman reported she the vehicle that took off should have front-end damage to it. Man from Granite Street involved in this accident went into the station at 4 p.m. and was issued a summons for leaving accident scene after property damage.

5:07 p.m. – Caller reported a bale of hay on Route 27 near the Sherborn town line. Desk officer notified Sherborn Police and Bob Kennedy of the issue.

6:14 p.m. – Caller reported a man on a four-wheeler behind the Wheelock School on Elm Street went up to a couple of kids and wanted them to talk to him. They went back and told their parents, who called the police. Officer responded but man was gone on arrival. Report was filed.

6:20 p.m. – Caller from South Street reported her stove made a loud noise and was sparking. Box alarm struck and officer notified. Medfield Fire reported oven was unplugged and the house was all set.

6:58 p.m. – Officer reported parking ticket issued to a car on South Street at Main Street.

9:52 p.m. – 911 call came into the station from High Street with nobody on the line. Desk officer called back and the woman said there was someone walking around her backyard with a flash light. They then got into a car and left. Woman did not get a plate or the type of car. Officer responded and checked the area. Officer spoke to the caller and there was a group of girls in a grey SUV that may have been looking for a neighbor’s house. He said he would check the area.

Wednesday, Oct. 12:

9:11 a.m. – Woman called from her home on Pine Street to report the street light was out. A man came into the station to report the street light was out on Summer Street by Lilac Lane. Desk officer contacted NSTAR out of Walpole.

10:54 a.m. – Woman from Longmeadow Road came into the station and requested to speak to an officer about a man’s watch that was stolen out of her mailbox some time between Saturday, Oct .8 and Sunday, Oct. 9. Value of the watch was $85. Officer spoke with woman.

10:54 a.m. – Officer reported there was a problem with the lights on North and Main Streets. Sergeant responded and reset traffic lights. They began working again.

12:49 p.m. – Individual came into the station from Wilkens Glen Road and requested to speak with an officer about a case of fraud. Officer spoke with individual and filed a report.

3:44 p.m. – Individual from Bridge Street came into the station to speak with officer about identity theft.
