Medfield Police Logs: Oct. 3-7

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, Oct. 3:

4:02 a.m. – Caller reported a car drove into his house on Harding Street. Officer reported driver was not with the car and the officer would like Assured Collision towing notified. Desk officer spoke to the driver’s father, who tried calling his son’s cell phone. At 5:55 a.m., the son’s mother and owner came into the station to speak to the sergeant on duty about the motor vehicle accident. Accident reports were filed and the incident is currently under investigation by Medfield Police. Check back at Medfield Patch for more information on this incident when it becomes available.

3:15 p.m. – Individual came into the station to report violation of restraining order. Officer took report. Summons was issued to a 47-year-old individual from Middleboro for violation of harassment prevention order.

3:55 p.m. – Officer was on traffic enforcement detail on Hartford Street and reported one verbal citation issued.

7:54 p.m. – 911 call from ambulance to Mobil Gas Station on North Street for 37-year-old female with abdominal cramping. Westwood paramedics responded. Woman was taken to Norwood Hospital.

Tuesday, Oct. 4:

7:48 a.m. – Individual walked into the station to report a car full of youths on Castle Avenue and would like them checked out. Officer notified and reported youths were gone on arrival. Officer checked the high school parking lot and reported the vehicle was there and went into the school to speak to someone at the school and he would speak to the youth.

2:25 p.m. – Man from Blake Middle School reported a delivery truck knocked over a fire hydrant. Ed Hinkley was called and said he would take care of it.

2:29 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Main and South Streets. Officer notified and reported at the request of both parties involved no report filed.

Wednesday, Oct. 5:

12:41 a.m. – Officer reported he was out with a motor vehicle on North Street and Janes Avenue and said he would give the operator a ride home and the motor vehicle would be parked on North Street by Janes Avenue for the night.

6:23 a.m. – Individual from Brook Street called to report the trucks for Lueders Tree and Landscape start up all their trucks and leave them running. Officer notified and reported vehicles were just started up and no equipment was running.

6:59 a.m. – Personal investigator came into the station to report he would be working in town.

7:55 a.m. – Officer reported there was a large dead deer on North Meadows Road by the Medfield Police range to be removed. Robert Kennedy Jr. was notified and the Medfield Highway Department responded to move the deer.

1:57 p.m. – Caller from Knollwood Road reported there was a white female going door to door knocking on their doors. The woman was on Knollwood Road and it was unknown what she was looking for. Officer checked the area but reported gone on arrival.

3:07 p.m. – Caller requested ambulance for himself on West Mill Street. Westwood paramedics notified and were enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

Thursday, Oct. 6:

5:39 a.m. – Officer reported on traffic enforcement detail on Hartford Street and issued a summons. Officer requested a tow truck for motor vehicle by Rocky Woods. The operator was unlicensed and complaint would be sought in Dedham District Court. Officer transported two males to the Mobil Station. The 27-year-old Milford man was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, unlicensed operation of motor vehicle and speeding (53 mph in a 40 mph zone).

10:10 a.m. – Officer reported he would be out on foot in the area of the water tower off of Eastmount Road for a party who took off on foot and possibly into the woods behind the water tower. Officer reported he was enroute to the water tower to assist other officer. The officer on foot spoke with a young male and reported he was clear and there was no problem.

11:09 a.m. – Man from South Street came into the station and requested to speak with the Animal Control officer about some type of animal he had in his basement.

11:56 a.m. – The manager from Friendly’s Ice Cream on Main Street called to request an officer to remove a white male sitting in his vehicle taking photos of them cleaning out the restaurant. The store is now permanently closed. Officer spoke with man from Middleborough and the man was on his way.

1:54 p.m. – Officer reported he was out with a motor vehicle on Main Street and issued a summons. Tow truck was requested for motor vehicle as 26-year-old Norfolk man was charged with forge or misuse of RMV document (inspection sticker) operating after suspension of registration and uninsured motor vehicle.

3:35 p.m. – Woman called from her cell phone in front of parking lot of Larkin’s package store on North Street to request an officer. Woman was just in a minor motor vehicle accident with no personal injury. Woman would like help with paperwork. Woman called back to cancel request for officer. No paperwork was needed.

7:10 p.m. – Custodian requested Fire Department to check burning smell in hallway at Medfield High School. Faulty water bubbler was found and was disconnected.

8:20 p.m. – Several calls of car into telephone pole on Causeway Street came into the station. Callers reported no occupant with the vehicle. All units responded. Man later called and reported he was driving the motor vehicle. He said he got a ride home then called the police. Officer was enroute to Pueblo Road to speak with the motor vehicle operator. Sergeant corrected earlier call, saying this was a motor vehicle that hit a tree, not a telephone pole.

8:40 p.m. – Resident of Hickory Drive reported someone banging on his door and when he asked who it was, no one answered. He said he wasn’t going to answer the door but would like an officer to check it. Dover Police sent a car to check the area. Dover officer reported it was one of the neighbors trying to get in touch with the man. No problem reported.

11:03 p.m. – Caller reported her husband was not feeling well and he had tightness in his chest and was sweating. Ambulance notified and transported patient to BID in Needham.

Friday, Oct. 7:

8:55 a.m. – Caller requested an assist on Lincoln Road as his wife had fallen and needs help getting up.

9:17 a.m. – Environmental Police reported they had an officer on patrol with an ATV along the Charles River.

9:44 a.m. – Caller requested an ambulance for a child with a shoulder dislocation. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient. Parent was with child.

9:49 a.m.  –Man came into the station to report a hit deer on North Street at the Dover town line. Animal Control notified. Deer was reported still alive but badly injured. Animal Control officer said she had to put it down. Highway Department notified to pick up.
