Medfield Police Logs: Oct. 13-19

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Thursday, Oct. 13:

 7:19 a.m. – Medfield Police received multiple calls regarding a motor vehicle accident on Main Street and the desk officer requested Assured Collision towing to the scene. Two individuals involved in the accident were issued summons, both of Waltham. A 26-year-old Waltham resident was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a 30-year-old Waltham resident was charged with allowing an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.

10:06 a.m.  – Officer was on a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. CSX workers hit a railroad sign.

12:14 p.m. – Ambulance dispatched to Medfield High School for employee, who was transported to Norwood Hospital. Walpole paramedics intercepted the transport to Norwood.

12:43 p.m. – Caller reported she had a stray dog on Hospital Road. Animal Control notified and returned the dog to its owner at 1:13 p.m.

1:24 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on North Street. Officer requested an ambulance and a tow. Assured Collision and Millis Ambulance responded. No transport was necessary.

2:24 p.m. – Caller reported a knife in the road at Cumberland Farms on Spring Street. Officer removed the knife from the road.

5:04 p.m. – Individual from Hillcrest Road called to report an older male at the high school playing basketball by himself. Officer responded and reported person was playing basketball with a student. Caller called back with license plate number of the individual and it was logged.

5:39 p.m. – Woman from Kenny Donovan Center called to report at a residence on High Street a disabled female being abused. Officer spoke to the parents and everything is “all set” at the time.

6:48 p.m. – Individual reported outside of Lord’s a motor vehicle accident. Officer requested ambulance and Assured Collision. Ambulance transported individual to Norwood Hospital.

Friday, Oct. 14:

11:30 a.m. – Caller requested the ambulance for her grandson on Juniper Lane. EMTS cancelled and request was made for Walpole Paramedics. Walpole responded and transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

11:43 a.m. – Caller reported an injured squirrel on Cottage Street. Animal Control notified.

12:06 p.m. – Caller requested the ambulance for a patient on Main Street. Westwood Ambulance notified and responded. Transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

2:45 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident in his driveway at Woodridge Road. Officer notified and Assured Collision towing was requested.

4:16 p.m. – Individual from Granite Street called to report a past larceny. Officer was notified and report was filed.

7:06 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on North Street with personal injury. Officer and ambulance notified. Officer requested Assured Collision towing.

9 p.m. – Individual from Pound Street called to report a suspicious male on Pound Street heading for the middle school. Male was described as in his 50’s with grey hair and a long grey mustache. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and light colored jeans. Officer notified but reported search of the area resulted in male being gone on arrival.

Saturday, Oct. 15:

8:20 a.m. – Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr. requested one officer Monday through Thursday (Oct. 17 to Oct. 20) from 3 to 7 p.m. for intersection enforcement on Route 109 at North Street and Route 109 at South Street.

11:12 a.m. – Caller reported lights on Main Street and South Street and Route 27 are not working. Officer notified and reported the Lions Club are out at both locations collecting money. Detective reported no traffic at North Street and Main Street.

8:01 p.m. – 911 call on a transfer from the State Police Department reports woman and her friend were chased by a male subject on Pederzini Drive. The caller reported she was across from the Sunoco Station. Officers notified. At 8:04 p.m. the State Police called back to report the caller’s parents showed up and picked up the kids and left the area.

9:12 p.m. – Lifeline reported a medical at a residence on Colonial Road. The subject’s alert went off. Ambulance responded but reported no transport was necessary.

10:06 p.m. – Caller reported kids on Miller Street are outside making a lot of noise. Caller reported he is trying to sleep and this has happened in the past. Officer responded and reported all was quiet.

11:19 p.m. – Caller from Green Street reported a male subject knocked on her door and asked the residence was a different house on Green Street. When the caller said it wasn’t, the male asked her if she knew where a 14-year-old girl lives. The caller asked the man to leave. Officers responded to speak to the caller. Officer reported she spoke to the subject who was looking for his 14-year-old son, who was staying on Green Street. He is all set and has his son.

11:40 p.m. – Caller reported a loud party on Spring Street near Maple Street. Officer responded and reported the party was on Robinson Road and is over now.

11:42 p.m. – Caller reported a loud party in the area of Knollwood Road. The music is very loud. Officer reported the party was at Robinson Road and was over now.

Sunday, Oct. 16:

12:33 p.m. – Man called about some kids behind Town Hall lighting fires. They were described as five young males, two with hooded sweatshirts and two with brown t-shirts. Officer reported he was out with these individuals and spoke to the boys. They had been “sternly warned” and were removed from the property.

4:04 p.m. – Individual came into the station to report a male subject swinging on the swing set at Hinkley Pond. He thought it was strange. They did not speak to the man nor did the man speak to them. Officer reported he spoke to the subject at the swing set and the man said he was out for a walk and was taking a break. All is OK.

5:36 p.m. – Resident from Pleasant Street called and said her two-day-old daughter may be choking. Ambulance and officer responded. Westwood was notified and sent a paramedics unit. No transport was reported needed and Westwood Paramedics was cancelled.

7:20 p.m. – Caller reported someone may have tried to break into her house on High Street. She heard a loud bang in her basement and left the house and was parked on Main Street waiting for the police. Officers responded and spoke to the father. He reported all was OK and the caller did not know her brother was home, who lives in the basement.

9 p.m. – Cell caller reported a hit raccoon on Main Street near the Dover line. Officer responded but reported the raccoon was gone on arrival.

Monday, Oct. 17:

11:59 a.m. – Individual from South Street came into the station and requested to speak to an officer about a case of larceny. Someone has made some checks out from his business and cashed them. The checks look almost like his business checks. Officer spoke with the man and filed a report.

3:16 p.m. – Caller reported he received a call from an organization stating they were an American Veterans’ group and he checked and it is not a recognized group. He wanted it noted.

4:04 p.m. – Officer on traffic enforcement on Main Street reported he issued 21 citations.

5:04 p.m. – Caller reported he was almost run over riding his bike on Hartford Street. He would like the driving public to be more aware of people on bikes.

5:51 p.m. – Massachusetts State Trooper came into the station with a found credit card and license belonging to a Medfield resident. He requested it be returned to the owner. Officer returned the items to the Cross Street resident.

7:20 p.m. – Man reported he hit a deer on Hartford Street and it was too dark to see if the deer ran off.

7:22 p.m. – Caller reported an uncovered truck with branches in the bed going onto Harding Street. Leaves and branches were blowing onto the road. Officer reported he checked the area and saw nothing on the road. Truck was gone on arrival.

9:01 p.m. – Caller reported car should be pulling into the station to request the ambulance for her son. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

10:32 p.m. – 911 caller reported she would like her son removed from the house because he is being unruly. Officer responded and reported would be enroute back to the station with one subject to call for a ride.

Tuesday, Oct. 18:

5:44 a.m. – Officer issued one citation while on traffic enforcement detail on Bridge and West Streets.

11:11 a.m. – Lifeline called to request an ambulance for an individual on Indian Hill Road who had fallen down and may have broken her hip. Fire Chief William Kingsbury requested Paramedics, who responded on scene. Ambulance transported patient to Needham Hospital.

3:01 p.m. – Sergeant reported he was out at Main Street and South Street doing traffic enforcement from 3 to 7 p.m. and issued 22 citations.

3:35 p.m. – Nurse from dr. Abensohn’s office on Main Street called emergency 911 t request the ambulance for a 77-year-old woman who may have been having heart problems. Paramedics notified and ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

6:53 p.m. – Officer reported he was out in the town of Sherborn with a motor vehicle crash with personal injuries on Main and Bullard Streets (Routes 115 and 27). A second officer was enroute to Sherborn for the motor vehicle accident. Officer requested Sherborn Police, Fire and EMS to the scene. Desk officer notified Sherborn Police. EMTs requested Millis ambulance on scene and paramedics on scene. At 7:24 p.m. EMT reported they are enroute with Medfield ambulance to Framingham Hospital with one patient. Scene was cleared at 7:39 p.m.

 9:42 p.m. – Man from Pleasant Street called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for himself. He reported he was having chest pains. EMT requested paramedics on scene. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

11:41 p.m. – Lifeline requested an ambulance to Colonial Road for a public assist.

Wednesday, Oct. 19:

8:38 a.m. – Caller from Green Street reported someone is putting nails and screws in his car tires. Officer spoke to the caller and caller reported he found nails and screws in the driveway when he came out in the morning.
