Medfield Police Logs, Nov. 7-14: Coyote Spotted, Fraud and Mailbox Vandalism

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, Nov. 7:

4:25 a.m. – Lifeline reported they would like the ambulance to help the male subject at this residence.

8:14 a.m. – Woman reported an injured deer in her yard at Brook Street.

11:50 a.m. – Caller requested the ambulance for her husband on South Street.

1:12 p.m. – Norfolk Police reported a large truck with “P.K.” on the side, dropping rocks on the road. May be heading to Medfield. Medfield Police notified.

2:30 p.m. – Animal Control officer reported she would be out on Harding Street to address an animal problem.

4:30 p.m. – Caller reported she had a stray cat that needs to be picked up by the Animal Control officer on Lowell Mason Road.

4:38 p.m. – Officer was out on traffic enforcement detail at Main and Pound Streets. No citations were issued.

5:12 p.m. – Caller reported a subject left his car over night at the Mobil station on North Street. Caller wanted the vehicle removed. Officer notified and spoke to the vehicle owner’s son, who was driving the car. He would see the clerk at Mobil.

5:36 p.m. – Caller reported she saw a coyote in her backyard and she wanted Animal Control notified.

Tuesday, Nov. 8:

2:10 p.m. – Officer reported the bells and lights are going off at the railroad crossing on Cottage Street with no train in the area. Desk officer notified CSX Railroad.

3:33 p.m. – Woman called from Park Street to request an officer remove kids on skateboards. This is an ongoing problem with the kids skating between cars. Officer spoke with the two kids, who would not return.

4:32 p.m. – Individual called from his cell phone at Memorial School and said a boy unknown to him tried to take his skateboard away from him and pushed him the ground. Individual spoke to an officer, who reported there was no problem at the time.

5:08 p.m. – Individual from Elm Street called emergency 911 to report a motor vehicle crash with no personal injuries at South and Elm Streets by the railroad tracks. Officer requested two tow trucks and officer requested the ambulance for one with a minor cut. EMT said there would be no transport to hospital.

6:12 p.m. – Woman called from Main Street to report a raccoon was hit by a vehicle and was still alive in front of 270 Main St. Sergeant was notified after Animal Control could not be reached and the raccoon was located behind 270 Main St. Animal Control called at 8 p.m. and was enroute to meet sergeant and remove the dead raccoon from the area.

6:17 p.m. – Woman called to report she had a smell of gas in her house on Snyder Road. EMT reported the Medfield Fire Department was clear and there was no gas in the house.

6:42 p.m. – Individual from Stoneybrook Road called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for an 89-year-old individual, who was found on the floor. Westwood paramedics were notified and enroute. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient. Ambulance was out with Westwood paramedics on Route 109 at 7:02 p.m. At 7:08 p.m. Medfield ambulance and Westwood paramedics were back enroute to Norwood Hospital.

Wednesday, Nov. 9:

4:05 a.m. – Individual called emergency 911 to report a rooster on Brastow Drive is waking him and his family up every morning. Would like Animal Control to talk to the owner of the rooster in the morning.

6:32 a.m. – Officer reported he heard gunshots at McCarthy Field on Hospital Road and was checking behind the field for hunters.

10:26 a.m. – Woman called emergency 911 from Birch Road to request the ambulance for her 14-year-old daughter, who had a bad cold. Ambulance transported patient to Needham Hospital.

10:46 a.m. – Woman called emergency 911 from Hearthstone Drive to request the ambulance to transport her 71-year-old husband to a hospital. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury and a Medfield Police officer responded to the scene. Westwood ambulance was enroute to Newton Wellesley Hospital with patient.

12:12 p.m. – Woman from North Meadows Road came into the station and requested to speak to an officer about a case of credit card fraud, specifically her company card. Officer spoke with woman and filed a report on the incident.

3:14 p.m. – EMT reported they were enroute to the area of Hickory Drive for a smell of gas.

6:50 p.m. – EMT reported they were enroute with the ambulance to a residence on Colonial Road. The homeowner would like a party checked out. EMT and officer were clear of the scene at 7:12 p.m.

7:46 p.m. – Woman called from Camelot Lane and requested to speak to an officer about some phone messages and computer messages her 13-year-old daughter had been receiving. Officer spoke with caller.

Thursday, Nov. 10:

2:54 a.m. – Individual from Pound Street walked into the station and requested to go to the hospital. Ambulance and officer notified. Individual claimed he pulled the fire tab at his address but nothing came into the station to notify the fire department and he had no access to a phone.

6:52 a.m. – Man from Camelot Lane called and requested an officer because some time overnight someone smashed the rear window of his vehicle when it was parked in his driveway. Officer spoke to the caller and viewed the damage to the vehicle.

8:33 a.m. – Sergeant reported the manager of the American Legion Post 110 on Peter Kristoff Way gave him some found property. Sergeant came into the station with a checkbook that belonged to a Medfield resident. Desk officer notified the resident, who said she would be in to claim it ASAP.

9:26 a.m. – Man called from his cell phone in the area of Pine Street to report a raccoon walking around. Animal Control notified and put the raccoon down.

9:48 a.m. – Woman called to report an injured bird in the area of 18 and 20 Miller St. Animal Control notified and removed the bird.

1:34 p.m. – Woman came into the station to report a large branch was in the power lines in the area of Pine Street, between Chestnut Lane and Overfield Drive. Desk officer spoke with Ed Hinkley and Paul Hinkley of the Medfield Tree Department, who were both on vacation. Desk officer spoke to Robert Kennedy Jr. and he took a look at the branch and reported it was in the NSTAR power lines. Desk officer notified NSTAR, who would handle.

3:49 p.m. – Man from Needham Bank came into the station to turn over a case of fraud to be given to a detective for further investigation. Sergeant will do initial complaint against the 39-year-old woman from Roxbury. Medfield Police issued a court summons to the Roxbury woman on charges of forgery of check, uttering a forged instrument, specific date and larceny by check over $250.

8:31 p.m. – Caller reported two large trash bags in the middle of the road by Transfer Station on North Meadows Road. Officer checked the area and reported someone already struck the bags and trash was all over the roadway.

9:05 p.m. – Caller reported a group of kids in area of Oriole Road and Liberty Road she thinks should be checked out. Officers responded and reported the group of youths are from the neighborhood and not causing any problem.

10:21 p.m. – Caller reported kids in a car at the high school parking lot might be drinking. The vehicle has Walpole football bumper stickers on it. Officer responded and reported the kids were playing Frisbee and no drinking was going on. The kids left.

Friday, Nov. 11:

5:55 a.m. – Officer reported he was out on traffic enforcement detail on Hartford Street and at 6:20 a.m. was out with a motor vehicle on the street. The care came back stolen out of Dedham. Desk officer called Dedham Police about the car and the officer on Hartford Street said he spoke to the driver and owner of the vehicle, who said it was recovered. Desk officer notified Dedham Police of the same and they said they would like the owner to come to the Dedham station to do some paperwork on the situation.

10:21 a.m. – Officer reported he was out on a motor vehicle stop on Spring Street (Route 27) and requested a tow truck. Officer issued a 42-year-old Foxborough resident a court summons for uninsured operation of a motor vehicle and operating after suspension of registration.

10:35 a.m. – Desk officer from Dover Police called to request mutual aid by Medfield ambulance for a woman, who had fallen down on Farm Street in Dover. Medfield ambulance enroute to Newton-Wellesley Hospital with patient.

11:53 a.m. – Desk officer from Walpole Police department called to report a truck coming into Medfield on Route 27 with its backdoor open and spilling oil out from the back of it. Officer reported he was out with the truck on Route 27 at 11:59 am.  Near Cumberland Farms gas station. Officer reported some oil was in the road by High Street and requested the EMTs place some sand over it.

2:14 p.m. – Woman called from Irving gas station to request an officer for an incident at the station. Someone drove off without paying for gas.

2:23 p.m. – Woman called from North Street to request the ambulance for an older female who had fallen down. No transport was necessary.

4:32 p.m. – Woman in the station with an iPhone she found at the Ralph Wheelock School. On Nov. 12 at 4:13 p.m., the owner of the iPhone came into the station to pick it up.

5:07 p.m. – Woman on Spring Street reported they are working at the new condos and she would like the noise to stop. Officer spoke to workers, who said they had a machine stuck.

7:49 p.m. – Caller reported a small fire was put out on Acorn Circle. They would like someone to check the residence. Fire Department responded.

9:09 p.m. – Officer issued a citation on a motor vehicle stop at North Street.

10:15 p.m. – Caller reported a vehicle all over the road on Route 109 heading towards the center of Medfield. Officer was out on Main Street and Upham Road with this vehicle and reported the driver checked out OK, she was eating while driving. She said she would stop eating.

Saturday, Nov. 12:

9:28 a.m. – Caller from Longmeadow Road reported they had some pumpkins smashed. Would like an extra drive through at night. Caller said other mischief has been going on in the area as well as thefts from motor vehicles.

10:02 a.m. – Individual came into the station in regard to a possible case of fraud involving her father. Individual spoke to an officer.

10:12 a.m. – Individual came into the station to speak to an officer in regard to ID theft.

6:48 p.m. – Caller reported while he was riding a mountain bike with some friends at the state hospital site on Hospital Road, he heard a couple of gunshots fired. When the bikers came to the road, there was a hunter possibly pointing his rifle at them. He spoke to the individual about this and did not get his name or plate number. He wanted it logged.

8:46 p.m. – A 25-year-old Millis man was arrested and charged with failure by owner to have motor vehicle inspected and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license after a Medfield Police officer pulled him over on North Meadows Road.

8:49 p.m. – 911 caller reported he would an ambulance for his wife who fell and may have broken her shoulder at Maplewood Road. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

8:51 p.m. – Individual from Tannery Drive came into the station to report kids knocking over mailboxes. Officer notified and checked the area.

11:05 p.m. – Caller reported she heard gunshots in the area of Birch Road, maybe at the gun club. Officers notified. Officers reported all was quiet and the gate to the gun club was secure.

11:45 p.m. – 911 caller reported her husband seems to be confused and she would like the EMTs to check him out. Ambulance transported patient from Frairy Street to Norwood Hospital.

Sunday, Nov. 13:

9:19 a.m. – A 28-year-old Brockton man was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on Curve Street and charged with unlicensed operation of motor vehicle and operating after license or right to operate was suspended.

11:58 a.m. – Woman called from Main Street to report she thinks she had a black widow spider in her home. Animal Control responded.

12:14 p.m. – Caller reported from Noon Hill Road that she is hiking Noon Hill Reservation and there was a man starting a campfire. She believed it was too windy. Fire Department notified and would check the area.

1:12 p.m. – A 42-year-old Tewksbury woman was issued a court summons after a motor vehicle stop on Main Street for a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

3:23 p.m. – Caller reported her dog got loose on Stagecoach Road and was stuck in the swamp out behind her house. Ambulance and Animal Control notified. At 3:28 p.m., the caller called back and said her dog was out the swamp and was OK. Ambulance was cancelled and Animal Control was notified.

Monday, Nov. 14:

7:57 a.m. – Desk officer from the Sherborn Police Department called to report he received a call from a motorist about a possible drunk driver that might be coming into Medfield on Route 27. Officer checked with no luck.

10:35 a.m. – Woman from Mohave Road called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for her husband, who may be having heart problems. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.
