Medfield Police Logs, March 28 – April 5

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, March 28:

 6:39 a.m. – Caller reported from Bridge Street she thought she saw smoke coming from the area of 40 Bridge St. Medfield Police Sergeant Daniel Burgess responded and reported area was clear upon arrival.

10:46 a.m. – Alarm company reported alarm went off at Loeffler Lane. At 10:50 a.m. the alarm company called back to cancel the call.

10:46 a.m. – Outside fire alarm came into the station from the Thomas Upham House on 519 Main St. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury reported there was no fire, just a little smoke from the kitchen.

11:14 a.m. – Fire alarm came into station for the professional building at 50 North St.

12:20 p.m. – Christopher Byrne works for Century 21 of Wellesley and was a realtor showing a house for Medfield residents on Kenney Road. A nanny of the house reported to the realtor that there were two women at the house when she got in around 11:15 a.m. Monday morning. The two women told her they were there for a showing of the house. The nanny told the two women there would be no showing of the house so the two women got into a gray car and drove off. The nanny had no plate number for the vehicle. Officer Larz Anderson spoke with Christopher Byrne and the nanny. Officer Anderson filed a report. Medfield Police issued a “Be On the Look Out” over the radio.

5:08 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on North Street. Motor vehicle hit a child on a bicycle. Ambulance responded and reported the child had a cut hand. There was no transportation to the hospital and the mother picked up the child with the bicycle.

6:34 p.m. – Nurse at the Thomas Upham House requested an assist with a patient. Subject was very combative and there was a pink slip on patient. Medfield Ambulance was standing by to assist. Thomas Upham House had ambulance for transportation to hospital and the patient was transported to Natick.

8:55 p.m. – Caller from Park Street reported her neighbor was playing the radio so loud she could not “hear her own TV.” Officer responded and spoke to the neighbor. He turned down the radio.

9:33 p.m. – Man from Park Street reported a lot of noise from his neighbor. Officers responded but reported no noise.

Tuesday, March 29:

6:48 a.m. – Parking complaint came in from caller on Park Street. Reported same car parked all night in front of a hydrant.

7:24 a.m. – Timothy Matukas, 24, of 68 Philip St. came to the station to surrender himself for warrants. Officer Wayne Sallale handled the arrest.

10:19 am. – Report of burglary alarm at 41 Millbrook Rd. Officers responded and reported house was secure.

1:01 p.m. – 911 cell caller reported the police were needed at the Dunkin Donuts at Main Street for an unknown problem. Caller received a text from his girlfriend who was working at the Dunkin Donuts. Officer responded and upon investigation determined the problem was located in Milford – a trouble between neighbors.

1:29 p.m. – Alarm went off at Shawnee Rd. Officer Grover reported it was a contractor working on the house.

1:51 p.m. – Woman came into the station to report a man’s clothes and boots were laying in the woods behind building eight of Wilkens Glen.

2:17 p.m. – Woman from Granite St. requested police stand by around 5:30 p.m. at Granite Street residence. Woman’s former husband was expected to pickup their child.

4:26 p.m. – Caller reported she had a phone call from (508) 242-3402 claiming to be from the Amvets looking for money. Woman looked into it and could not find any information on it and wanted it logged.

4:35 p.m. – 911 abandoned call came into the station. Desk officer called back and got the answering machine. Officer notified. Desk officer called back again and spoke to a female subject who reported she diealed the wrong number.

Subject came into the station with his mother to report he was bitten by a dog near the center of town near the railroad tracks. Subject had no idea who owned the dog. The dog was being walked by its owner. Animal Control notified.

6:44 p.m. – Gray Olds Alero parked behind Middlesex Savings Bank with no registration. Vehicle was previously registered out of North Attleboro.

Wednesday, March 30:

7:35 a.m. – Caller from Longmeadow Road reported he struck his neighbor’s vehicle in front of Longmeadow Road. He attempted to contact the owner but got no answer at the residence. He said he struck a black Volkswagon. He said he would leave a note and try to contact the owner later that evening.

12:49 p.m. – Mario’s Landscaping reported hitting a gas line. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury reported situation was under control and an engine was standing by.

3:02 p.m. – Cell caller reported the traffic light west bound on Route 109 at 27 was not changing from green. Officer reported lights were working fine.

3:38 p.m. – Subject came into station to report his car was hit by somebody shooting a BB gun on Route 27 near Curve Street. Officer notified but alleged individual was gone on arrival.

7:03 p.m. – 911 caller reported he needed an ambulance for his 19-year-old son of a possible heart attack. Officer reported to have “medics step it up because they have a code.” CPR was in progress and Westwood ambulance notified. At 7:22 p.m. the ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital and incident report was filed.

Thursday, March 31:

12:29 a.m. – Fire alarm sounded for 1 engine station coverage as Westwood Fire had a working fire at a two family house.

12:56 a.m. – 911 caller reported water running down Indian Hill Road. Desk officer said Highway Department was flushing the hydrants. Caller said he did not see anybody in the area. Officer checked area and reported two sink holes near 20 Indian Hill Road. The road would need to be closed. Ed Hinkley was notified and reported he would handle the situation. Detail men responded to scene.

9 a.m. – Woman called from Planting Field Road to report her smoke alarms were going off and she had no smoke or fire.

9:26 a.m. – Norfolk man called from his cell phone to report they had a funeral escort going through Medfield on Main St. enroute to West Roxbury around 11:15 a.m. Westwood Police also notified.

12:20 p.m. – Safety signal reported alarm at Westview Road. Officers report house was secure.

3:16 p.m. – Frederick Santucci of 172 Brookside Rd. Needham came into the station to report a larceny from a house he is restoring on Hospital Road. He said there was a stolen boiler and some copper piping. Officer Larz Anderson spoke with Santucci. Report was filed.

8:58 p.m. – Christopher Rhuda called from the Medfield Water Department to report they will be out flushing fire hydrants on Indian Hill Road.

Friday, April 1:

6:19 a.m. – Many calls of motor vehicle accident as a motor vehicle hit a telephone pole and a wire is down on Main Street. Police and fire notified. Fire alarm sounded, NSTAR and Assured Collision also notified. Two detail men were needed at the scene and an incident report was filed.

1:02 p.m. – Caller requested ambulance for her husband. Ambulance was enroute to L. Morse Hospital.

9 p.m. – Christopher Rhuda called from the Medfield Water Department to report they will be out flushing fire hydrants in the area of Nebo Street.

Saturday, April 2:

11:11 a.m. – EMT radioed the station requesting a fire alarm be sounded for a brush fire somewhere behind the Ralph Wheelock School. Officer Grover was enroute.

2:07 p.m. – Man from Colonial Road called from his cell phone to request an ambulance for his neighbor, who was unresponsive but breathing. Desk officer had no luck contacting paramedics. Desk officer notified Westwood paramedics, who were enroute. Ambulance arrived and was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

2:20 p.m. – Michelle Gaudet of Granite Street called emergency 911 to report she was missing her two sons, ages 8 ½ and 7. They were playing in the backyard and were now missing. 2:28 p.m. Officer Stephen Grover reported the two boys were located at the neighbor’s house. Situation cleared.

3:34 p.m. – Caller from Harding St. requested a building check for an empty house. Neighbor saw someone walk over to the house. There is a car parked across the street from the house. Officer reported owner’s son checking the house.

4:02 p.m. – Detail officer Garvey reported he had a wallet turned over to him. The wallet was returned to the owner on Pine Street by officer Garvey.

4:23 p.m. – Officer Sallale was out on a motor vehicle stop on West Mill Street and issued a citation.

5:10 p.m. – Officer Sallale was on a motor vehicle stop and issued a citation.

5:29 p.m. – Officer O’Neil was out on a motor vehicle stop on Main Street and issued a citation.

8:10 p.m. – Caller requested removal of his wife, who was beating him at Wilkens Glen Road. Officer requested the EMTS for an evaluation. Officer enroute with one under arrest. Susan Roberta Daniel was arrested for assault and battery and issued a 209A restraining order. Daniel was later bailed and released to her brother.

Sunday, April 3:

8:56 a.m. – Desk officer received an emergency 911 hang up from a house on Colonial Road. Call back was done with no luck and officer Larz Anderson spoke with home owner, who said the call was accidental.

11:02 a.m. – Woman from Brook Street came into station with her mother to speak with officer about an altercation that took place on March 30 between the mother’s daughter and the daughter’s boyfriend in Newton. Report was field.

12:09 p.m. – Alarm company reported alarm went off at Birch Road. They reported there was a real estate woman at the scene with no code. Officer Grover reported it was accidental by Real Estate woman.

3:22 p.m. – Owner of Zebra’s came into the station to report kids were skateboarding off the loading dock and into the street. They had been asked to leave at other times and had refused to do so. Officer spoke with youths and they left.

5:19 p.m. – Officers checked out a suspicious person on North Street and issued a verbal warning to man for an open container.

Monday, April 4:

5:46 a.m. – Fire Department reported they had a cal from Indian Hill Road. Caller said man was sleeping in a car at the end of his driveway. Officers reported subject was tired and stopped on the way hoe to nap and is on his way.

11:15 a.m. – Multiple cars regarding a motor vehicle accident on Main Street. Officer requested ambulance. Fire alarm sounded, Millis ambulance responded. Walpole paramedics responded. Millis ambulance was enroute to Newton Wellesley Hospital. Medfield ambulance enroute to Brigham/ Woman’s Hospital in Boston.

1:14 p.m. – Caller from Carol Ann Drive requested the ambulance for her husband. Westwood Ambulance notified and responded and was enroute to Norwood Hospital.

1:32 p.m. – Caller reported her medicine was missing. Officer spoke to the caller. Woman called back and said she found her pills.

2:35 p.m. – Received from Wrentham District Court 209A for individual. Victim is staying with her daughter at Wilkens Glen Road. Desk officer notified other officers: “I spoke to a DV advocate at Wrentham District Court. She wants us to be aware that the victim is terminally ill with cancer and that her husband may show up at Wilkens Glen or at her Dr. office on North Street. Requesting extra patrols of area.”

2:47 p.m. – Received from Dedham District Court a 209A extension on woman at Wilkens Glen Road. Order expires on April 3, 2012.

3:10 p.m. – Medfield Fire reported they have a 46-year-old male with chest pains on North Street. Walpole Fire notified for ambulance.

3:19 p.m. – Many calls for a motor vehicle collision roll over at 50 North St. Fire alarm sounded and Millis ambulance notified. 3:40 sergeant Mayer wanted state police crash team notified. At 3:50 p.m., Millis ambulance was enroute to L/M/H with two subjects. Assured Collision was notified to remove the car. 4:45 p.m. state police was on the scene. 5:23 p.m. officer reported to shut down North Street at Green Street while they remove the car. 6:05 p.m. North Street now open. Lucy B. Jackson, 86, of 19 Lowell Mason Rd. in Medfield was charged with operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger.

3:23 p.m. – Caller reported at Medfield Commons on Main Street that a transformer was smoking. Fire Department would handle the situation.

4:47 p.m. – Caller reported she would like to see an officer about a past larceny from her yard on High Street.

Tuesday, April 5:

8:05 a.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident on Hartford Street. Officer requested a tow. Assured Collision notified and will respond.

9:47 a.m. – Day Care Center called to report the reporters from Channel 7 keep trying to take pictures. Center is afraid they will be filming the children. Sergeant Burton notified and said he would go by the center. Sergeant spoke to the reporters and they said they would leave the parking lot.

10:55 a.m. – RCVD from the RMV a revocation of license for Lucy Jackson of 19 Lowell Mason Rd.

11:29 a.m. – Individual requested to speak to an officer regarding a possible 209A. Officer Michelle Bento spoke to the caller regarding all options and the caller said he would go down to the court.

1:03 p.m. – Individual requesting an officer regarding an unwanted person at the house on High Street. Officers spoke to the caller and there was a misunderstanding by the person at the house. He will not be returning.

2:20 p.m. – Individual from Wilkens Glen Road requested ambulance for herself.

3:48 p.m. – Caller reported when she got home her house was broken into on High Street. At 4:09 p.m. Wellesley Police notified with a K-9 unit. They called the sergeant’s cell phone for more information. Also Walpole Police was notified to send a car to assist sergeant Wilhelmi. At 4:20 pm., the sergeant canceled the K-9 unit. Two Walpole detectives stayed at the residence.

7:08 p.m. – Officer James O’Neil reported they are making entry to Frairy Street apartment to serve a warrant. Officer Wayne Sallale was enroute to court with the prisoner. There was no bail and the man will be held until court on Wednesday morning. Samuel Walsh, 48, was charged on four out of town warrants, according to Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney, for identity theft.
