Medfield Police Logs: June 11-20

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Saturday, June 11:

1:08 a.m.- Caller reported teenagers in the area of Harding Street and Kaymark Drive making noise. Officers dispatched to area and reported cars leaving the area as he was approaching.

1:29 a.m. – Caller reported a car hit something – a tree or pole and kept on going. Vehicle had a flat tire. Westwood and Dover Police notified. All cars were in the are looking for the vehicle that was last seen on Main Street. Vehicle was gone on arrival.

10:03 a.m. – Officer Wayne Sallale reported he was out in the parking lot of Papa Ginos with a minor motor vehicle accident.

4:23 p.m. – Officer Stephen Grover was out doing radar at Foundry and Philip Streets and issued no citations.

9:30 p.m. – Unknown male called from 89 Pleasant St. (Medfield Gardens Apartments) to report when he parked his pickup truck in the back parking lot there were two young males walking to the rear fence and one of them had a brown bag in his hand. Officer Larz Anderson and officer Stephen Grover checked the rear parking lot and the railroad tracks behind Maple Street with no luck. Reported gone on arrival.

10:19 p.m. – Unknown male called from Longmeadow Road to request an officer to check on a vehicle that drove up and down Longmeadow Road with its lights out. The vehicle parked at the end of Longmeadow Road. Sergeant John Mayer reported the vehicle was a green van and no one was around. Sergeant reported there was no problem.

Sunday, June 12:

2:39 a.m. – Lifeline called to request an ambulance at Wilkens Glen Road for a 49-year-old woman who need help getting up.

3:36 a.m. – Man from Penobscot Street called emergency 911 to report his wife had a high temperature. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

6:20 a.m. – Officer Thomas LaPlante reported the fire hydrant on Dale and Adams Streets was pushed over. Ed Hinkley was notified.

10:40 a.m. – Woman from Valley Road, Dover came into the station to speak with an officer about a hit and run she had at the Donut Express. Report was filed.

11:30 a.m. – Officer was out on radar at South Street and Clark Road and reported no citations.

2:14 p.m. – Unknown female caller reported three women stopping traffic on Harding Street and Hospital Road. Officer notified and spoke to three women.

2:29 p.m. – Man from Bridge Street called emergency 911 to request an ambulance because he injured his leg at work and wanted a medic to look at it. Patient was not transported to hospital.

4:54 p.m. – Caller on Granite Street reported he set off his smoke alarm accidentally by cooking and all is OK at the house. Fire desk was notified and the call was handled.

5:28 p.m. – Officer was out doing radar on West Street and reported two citations.

7:52 p.m. – Individual came into the station to report harassing phone calls. Officer Larz Anderson spoke with her.

10:05 p.m. – 911 call came into the station and desk officer spoke to the manager of CVS, who said it was accidental. Officer responded to verify and reported it was accidental.

10:18 p.m. – Caller reported he lives on Main Street and there may be a disturbance at house on Brook Street near the road going into Wilkens Glen. Officers notified and reported it was a disagreement between boyfriend and girlfriend. The male was gone when the officers arrived.

Monday, June 13:

9:39 a.m. – Sergeant John Wilhelmi was out doing traffic enforcement at Spring Street and Pine Grove Road and reported one citation.

10:51 a.m. – Man from Rocky Woods reservations on Hartford Street called to request an extra eye on their front parking lot because kids with their cars are starting to hang out there at night. Man would like the kids removed if possible.

11:33 a.m. – Officer Grover reported he was out with a motor vehicle crash on North and Green Streets. Officer Christine DiNatale was also enroute to the scene. Crash involved a 2001 Toyota Camry and a 2002 Volvo Station Wagon. At 11:52 officer DiNatale reported scene was clear.

1 p.m. – Woman called emergency 911 from the Blake Middle School to request an ambulance for an individual who passed out in an eighth grade classroom. Individual called back from Blake Middle School to cancel the ambulance, reporting there was no problem at the school.

1:04 p.m. – Thomas Seeley called over his radio to repot a Tresca Brothers concrete truck broke down at North Meadows Road and Dale Street. Officer Christie DiNatale reported she was out with some men from Tresca Brothers picking up a concrete spill at the traffic lights on North Meadows Road and Dale Street. Officer DiNatale reported scene was clear and the concrete had been removed.

2:21 p.m. – Lifeline called to request public assistance for individual on Bartlett Avenue who had fallen and needed help getting up.

3:46 p.m. – Motor vehicle accident on West Street occurred, resulting in property damage. The accident involved a 2003 Toyota UT Runner and a 2012 Honda Civic.

5:44 p.m. – Reports of needles on the roadside of Birch and Main Streets. Fire Department notified and needles were found. Fire Department disposed of the needles, which were insulin needles.

7:51 p.m. – Caller reported a sick and injured raccoon at Gunhill and Millbrook Road. Animal Control officer notified and reported raccoon was gone on arrival.

8:09 p.m. - Fire Department requesting an alarm for 3 Grace Dr. A call came in to cancel the alarm. Cruiser and Fire Department notified.

Tuesday, June 14:

8:34 a.m. – Individual called from cell phone to request an officer in front of Larkin’s package store on 20 North St. Individual was involved in a motor vehicle accident with personal injury. Officer Larz Anderson requested the on-duty wrecker and Assured Collision was notified. No hospital transport.

1:30 p.m. – Officer Larz Anderson was on radar assignment on North Street at Memorial School.

4:39 p.m. – Officer James O’Neil was on traffic enforcement on Pound Street and issued three citations.

6:08 p.m. – 911 call reported suspicious person on North Street Near Harding Street. Officer reported he was out with person at 6:25 p.m. Officer reported he transported a female at 6:34 p.m. to Johns Avenue.

6:22 p.m. – Animal complaint from High Street came in as many calls reported a cat was hit by a car on High Street by Turner Hill Road. Animal Control Officer notified.

Wednesday, June 15:

12:14 a.m. – Caller from Philip Street reported there may be a disturbance at Philip Street. Somebody was knocking at their door and she would like the police to check it out. She reported this has happened in the past when her neighbors have fought and one of them would come to the house. Officers responded. Officers checked area and checked Philip Street but nobody was home.

8:09 a.m. – Millis reported a 911 c all to report a motor vehicle crashed into a tree on West Street. Fire Department responded and the ambulance responded. No transport necessary. Assured Collision responded and an accident report was filed.

9:26 a.m. – Caller reported last Saturday tow cases of wine were taken from his garage on Trailside Road. He wanted it noted. Garage was reported open and he did not want to speak to an officer.

10:27 a.m. – Caller reported they have a stray dog in their shop at Reflections Hair Salon on North Meadows Road. Animal Control Officer notified.

11:21 a.m. – Officer Wayne Sallale issued a citation on a motor vehicle stop at Metacomet Park.

11:35 a.m. – Fire alarm came into the station for 30 Pound St. Tilden Village. Officer reported nothing was found.

12:29 p.m. – Offcier Wayne Sallale issued a citation on a motor vehicle stop on North Street.

2:48 p.m. – Cell caller reported low hanging wire in the area of 364 Main St. At 3 p.m. area was reported clear. Wire was put around pole 12/80. Verizon would handle situation.

3:50 p.m. – Officer reported he was out on a motor vehicle stop at Shaw’s on Main Street and the individual shows an active warrant. Officer reported he would be coming in the station with one. At 4:02 p.m. the officer was enroute with one. At 6:16 p.m. bail comm. was in the station to bail the subject out. Saul Jhiraldo Collazo of Salem, 21, was arrested and charged with failure to appear warrant: Malden District: unlicensed operation.

7:47 p.m. – Caller reported there was an open water valve at McCarthy Field. Sergeant John Wilhelmi notified the Fire Desk and they would handle.

8:46 p.m. – Caller from South Street reported neighbor’s dog had been barking for a while and it was keeping up her grandson. Desk officer left a message at the resident’s house on South Street and Animal Control Officer was notified.

9:53 p.m. – Caller from the group home on Hospital Road called to report a red light on their boiler was flashing. Fire desk was notified. The light was reported a sewer pump and they were calling the subject, who takes care of the building.

Thursday, June 16:

12:01 a.m. – Two calls came in about a dead deer in the middle of Route 27 near St. Edward’s Church. Officers notified and pulled the deer off to the side of the road. Highway Department will be notified for removal in the morning.

12:05 a.m. – Caller reported two cars parked at the end of Longmeadow Road. He would like them checked out. Officers reported vehicles were gone on arrival.

1:03 a.m. – Caller reported she had some sparks coming from an outlet in the wall and she could also smell something. Officers responded and fire alarm sounded. All units were cleared and Fire Department took care of the socket.

9:11 a.m. – Caller requested an ambulance at Pleasant Street. Patient was transported to Natick Hospital.

9:24 a.m. – Elaine Yoke reported she picked up an injured owl on North Meadows Road. Animal Control Officer notified.

11:12 a.m. – Caller requested an ambulance to Nauset Street for a person having heart trouble. Walpole notified and ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital.

12:29 p.m. – Dover reported a working fire and requested assistance on Hartford Street. Engines responded to Dover.

12:48 p.m. – Caller reported he struck a deer on Rocky Lane. Deer was dead. Highway Department was notified.

1:40 p.m. –Highway Department was notified of dead deer on Rocky Lane.

2:16 p.m. – Multiple calls regarding a motor vehicle accident with a pole broken on Main Street. NSTAR notified and responded. Assured Collision notified and responded. Dover Police assisted with traffic. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

3:57 p.m. – Fire alarm sounded for Wilkens Glen. Fire Department notified and responded. Reported scene was clear.

4:26 p.m. – Individual came into the station on June 15 to report a larceny of cell phone from table at Royal Pizza.

5:06 p.m. – Ambulance reported they will be enroute to Pound Street on a medical. Ambulance reported they were clear and there was no problem at this house.

Friday, June 17:

11:34 a.m. – Isabel Cruz, 35, of Framingham was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license for OUI. Cruz was pulled over on Robert Sproul Road.

4:38 p.m. – William Ben Clendenin of 273 South St. called emergency 911 to request the police for a motor vehicle crash with personal injury in front of his house. Medfield officers and Medfield ambulance are enroute. Fire Chief William Kingsbury requested Medfield Fire to respond. Fire alarm sounded at 4:41 p.m. Officer Cave radioed in for a wrecker at 4:43 p.m. Assured Collision responded at 4:47 p.m. No transport to hospital.

6 p.m. – Unknown male called from Green Street to request an officer to removed the teenage kids that are running around at Hinkley Swim Pond. The kids were making a lot of noise. Officer Cave spoke with some young kids there and the older kids had left the area.

7:12 p.m. – Officer Cave was doing radar on North Meadows Road by Dale Street. Two warning were issued.

7:30 p.m. – Unknown male motorist called from his cell phone to report the CSX train just went through Dale Street crossing and it looked like to him that some kids were trying to jump on to the last car that had one through the crossing and he just wanted the police to call CSX Railroad and let them know the same. CSX railroad police officer Roberts was notified and will notify their Framingham yard of the same. Sergeant Burgess spoke to teenagers and they stated to him that they were not trying to hop onto the train and now have left the area not to return.

8:29 p.m. – Individual called by emergency 911 for her father at Wilkens Glen Road to request the ambulance. Father is 85 years old and was having some minor chest pains. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

8:30 p.m. – Individual called to request an officer to check on some kids partying in the sand pits behind the Ralph Wheelock School and the caller thought they may be drinking they may be drinking. Sergeant Burgess now has a key to the gate and he and officer Grover will be checking the area. Sergeant Burgess heard some noise coming from the pits and officer Grover checked the area but gone on arrival.

10:19 p.m. – Individual from Haven Road called to request an officer to remove the kids and their cars from the turn around on Haven road. They keep driving up and down the street and hanging out. Officer Grover reported no problems and there was a house party on Haven Road but no one parked at the end of the street.

Saturday, June 18:

12:26 a.m. – Individual from Ledgetree Road called to report he could hear some yelling. He stated it sounds like domestic. Officer notified and officer Christine DiNatale spoke to homeowner and they saw it. They stated they walked off.

11:21 a.m. – Man on North Meadows Road came into the station with a cell phone he found on the bridge near the Sherborn line. Message was left on home phone.

1:53 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident at Dale and Frairy Streets. Officer reported no visual damage and information was exchanged.

2:01 p.m. – Man from Loeffler Lane reported he had a sick stray dog. Animal Control Officer notified.

8:25 p.m. – Individual reported she was out at the Medfield Animal Shelter walking dogs and there was a man and two little children climbing on the train that was parked on the tracks. Sergeant Burton spoke with all parties involved. They were just looking at the train. They left the area.

9:48 p.m. – A server for Zebra’s Bistro on 21 North St. called by emergency 911 to report he had a mal party there that he thinks had too much to drink and was getting ready to drive off. Server stepped outside to see where the male party was parked and then called the desk officer. Server said the male was in the back parking lot speaking with another server. They were standing by his car and officer Anderson and Sergeant Burton are speaking with all parties. The car will be parked over night in front of the church. Man got a ride home by a cab.

Sunday, June 19:

10:50 a.m. – Officer reported a four car motor vehicle accident at Main Street at the cemetery. No personal injury and no need for tow truck, fire department or ambulance.

12:19 p.m. – Individual from Curve Street called and stated her 77-year-old husband fell. She stated he was not injured but she was unable to help him up. EMT responded and assisted. No transport to hospital needed.

4:55 p.m. – Individual came into the station requesting assistance and spoke to officer Flaherty and officer Pellegrini.

7:45 p.m. – Caller reported an injured rabbit. Animal Control Officer notified.

8:36 p.m. – Subject came into the station to speak to officer Pellegrini regarding theft of boulders from the stone wall marking the boundaries of her property.

9:12 p.m. – Individual form Miller Street requested an ambulance for his mother. Ambulance transported patient to Metrowest Hospital.

Monday, June 20:

6:06 a.m. – 911 caller reported she would like an ambulance for her mother who was 80-year-old and was on the floor and she was breathing. Patient transported to Glover Hospital.
