Medfield Police Logs: July 25-31

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, July 25:

12:19 a.m. – CSX called to report a train broken down on Dale and Adams Street crossing. Sergeant Burton notified and reported at 12:37 a.m. the train was on its way.

2:14 a.m. – Lifeline called to report individual at Colonial Road needed assistance getting up.

8:26 a.m. – Officer Stephen Grover reported he was out on Lee Road with a company doing work at that location and the road was blocked with a large number of trucks. Officer Grover said he spoke with the individuals there and they would move all the trucks to one side of the road so traffic could get by.

10:02 a.m. – Man from Currier Landscaping Company on West Street in Medfield came into the station to report some time over the weekend, someone smashed the windshield on one of his trucks that was parked in the parking lot. Man would like an “extra eye” on the area if possible.

10:07 a.m. – Woman from Gary Drive called emergency 911 to request an ambulance for her husband, who was having chest pains. Westwood paramedics responded with Medfield EMTs at 10:29 a.m. and transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

4:18 p.m.  – Caller from Adams Street reported a gold colored Honda had been circling the street and had gone by several times. Caller wanted an officer to check it out. Officer reported two women were in the vehicle, with one learning how to drive and park and said there was no problem.

4:35 p.m. – Walpole Police Department requested assistance with a motor vehicle leaving the scene. Brown Station Wagon. Walpole Police later reported they had the motor vehicle on High and Granite Streets in Medfield. Cruisers responded to the scene.

5:07 p.m. – Medfield Police received from the RMV a notice of immediate threat. License to operate had been revoked for individual at Lawrence Circle. At 5:17 p.m. officer was enroute to individual’s residence on Lawrence Circle to serve the notice of license revocation. Officer reported individual was not home and notice was left with individual’s father. Father will notify his son of revocation.

7:16 p.m. – Caller reported he had a sick skunk in front of his home. Animal kept falling down in front of the Newell Drive residence. Animal Control officer responded but reported she was unable to find the skunk.

8:04 p.m. – Officer James O’Neil was out with a motor vehicle on a traffic stop on Main Street and issued a citation.

8:15 p.m. – Officer James O’Neil reported he was out on a motor vehicle stop in the CVS parking lot on Main Street and requested Assured Collision towing. A citation was issued.

9:20 p.m. – Caller reported she had a bat in her house on Steven Lane. Animal Control officer notified and reported at 10:37 p.m. she removed the bat.

Tuesday, July 26:

12:24 a.m. – Cell caller from Frairy Street reported his wife was not feeling well and would like to go to the hospital. Ambulance transported patient to Metrowest Natick.

1:33 a.m. – Cell caller reported a male subject wearing tan pants and a light colored shirt ran across Route 27 and then behind Papa Gino’s. Officers responded but reported individual was gone on arrival.

1:52 a.m. – Two calls about a gunshot or a car crash in the area of Causeway and Orchard Streets were reported. Desk officer also notified Millis Police to check its end of Orchard Street. Officers reported nothing found.

8:18 a.m.  – Woman from Acorn Circle came into the station and requested to speak with an officer about some vandalism that was done to her car last night at the laundry mat on 503R Main St. Someone reportedly broke the side mirror on her car. Officer Larz Anderson spoke to woman and looked at the damage that was done to her car. Woman said she will speak with her son about what took place Monday night and then she may call the insurance company. There was no reported needed at this time.

11:38 a.m.  – Man from Hearthstone Drive came into the station to request police, if possible, to keep an eye on the speeding cars on his street and area. Two days ago, someone hit and killed his dog and the young girl driving did not stop. He wanted it noted.

1:17 p.m. – Officer Larz Anderson was on radar assignment in the area of West Street. Officer reported issuing one verbal and one written warning.

2:05 p.m. – A visiting nurse from Walpole called emergency 911 from Evergreen Way to request the ambulance to transport a woman to the hospital to see her doctor. Woman was transported to Norwood Hospital.

3:13 p.m. – Caller reported landscape trucks parking on the curve of Causeway Street and making it unable to see what was coming as road is down to one lane. Caller wanted it noted and would like someone to keep an eye out for parked trucks.

Wednesday, July 27:

9:07 a.m. – Officer Flaherty reported he found some syringes on the roadside of Hospital Road and North Meadows Road. Medfield Fire Department notified for removal and Fire Department responded to scene to remove the syringes.

10:12 a.m. – Caller from Harding Street reported sometime Monday night, someone struck his mailbox and reported small car parts were seen near the box. He wanted it noted.

1:42 p.m. – Received from Dedham District Court a 209A extension for individual. The order now expires on July 23, 2012.

1:49 p.m. – Medfield Police Department received notice of a dog bite. Animal Control officer notified and given information on incident.

2:25 p.m. – Medfield Police received from Dedham District Court a 258E harassment order extension for individual. Order now expires on July 24, 2012.

6:16 p.m. – Caller reported in front of a Knollwood Road residence that a transformer was smoking. Fire Department responded and reported a blown fuse on the transformer. NSTAR was notified.

6:44 p.m. – Caller from North Street reported she had an 80-year-old woman who was becoming unresponsive. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

7:15 p.m. – Caller reported he smelled smoke in the area of Papa Gino’s on North Meadows Road. Officer reported nothing found and said it may be a fire pit in a backyard. Medfield Fire reported it was a fire pit on Frairy Street.

9:10 p.m. – Cell caller reported a baby deer was injured on Hospital Road. Officer and Animal Control were enroute to scene. Animal Control reported the deer took off into the woods.

10:04 p.m. – Caller from Minuteman Road reported he heard a noise outside of his house and when he went out there, he saw a couple of youths in his hot tub. They saw him and took off. Officer responded to Minuteman Road to speak with caller.

Thursday, July 28:

1:31 a.m. – Caller reported she had a bat flying around her bedroom on Green Street. Animal Control notified and reported at 2:20 a.m. she removed the bat.

1:40 a.m. – Caller reported kids lighting off fireworks in the sand pit behind the Wheelock School. Officer responded but reported all was quiet.

2:13 a.m. – Caller reported she would like an officer to go to a residence on Hillcrest Road and have the men stop playing horse shoes and stop talking so loud. Officer reported he spoke to the men and they would end the game for the night.

5:53 a.m. – Officer was out on a car stop on South and Main Streets and requested another officer for assistance. Officer also requested Assured Collision towing to tow vehicle. Andrew W. Moyer, 23, of 312 Lincoln St., Franklin, was arrested and charged for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and license not in possession. He was transported to Dedham District Court by Medfield Police.

6:34 a.m.  –Caller from Castle Avenue requested the ambulance for her daughter. Patient was transported to Glover Hospital.

10:09 a.m. – Caller requested the ambulance for himself at Tilden Village on Pound Street. Ambulance transported patient to Natick.

7:35 p.m. – Officer reported he was out on Main and Brook Street with a car stop and reported he would need another officer for assistance. Assured Collision was also notified to tow vehicle. A 50-year-old Dorchester man was issued a court summons on charges of obscured number plate violation and unlicensed operation of motor vehicle.

9:25 p.m. – Woman from Wilkens Glen Road came into the station to speak to Sergeant John Mayer to report a problem with a car she bought here in Medfield. Sergeant Mayer reported he was enroute to Wilkens Glen road to speak to the other individual about this car. Sergeant Mayer called at 9:45 p.m. to request a tow truck to impound this car.

10:02 p.m. – Fire dispatch reported he struck a box alarm for 50 Philip St. because the caller reported she smelled smoke in her house. Fire Department reported nothing was found.

Friday, July 29:

5:30 a.m. – Officer Daniel Pellegrini reported he was out on traffic enforcement on High and Granite Streets and issued no citations.

8:05 a.m. – Officer Thomas Tabarani reported he was out doing radar on South Street at Wilson Street and issued three verbal warnings.

10:10 a.m.  –Woman called from her father’s house on Causeway Street to report a Ryder Truck just turned around in her father’s driveway and took out some fence and some of their small tree branches. The truck at this time was going up Causeway Street to Main Street. Sergeant Burton and officer LaPlante were out on High Street by Granite Street with the vehicle. Officer went out to the home on Causeway Street to view the damage.

1:37 p.m. – Officer reported he was out on Main and Pound Streets on traffic enforcement and issued seven verbal warnings for the stop sign.

4:14 p.m. – Officer Daniel Pellegrini reported he was out in front of 12 Bridge ST. on a motor vehicle stop and at 4:18 p.m. requested a two truck for the vehicle and reported he would be coming into the station with one under arrest for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Bail for Nathan Glenn Boddie, 27, of 24 Leland St., Norfolk, was set at $500 with a $40 bail comm. Fee. Boddie was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

4:42 p.m. – Officer Wayne Sallale reported he will be out checking the area of Main Street and North Meadows Road for a large number of gun shots. Officer Sallale reported he checked the area and all was quiet.

5:16 p.m. – Officer Wayne Sallale reported he was in the front parking lot of the Medfield Police Department with a male sitting in his car having difficulty breathing. He requested the ambulance and the ambulance transported the patient to Norwood Hospital.

7:05 p.m. – Individual called from his cell phone to request the ambulance at the Blake Middle School (Curt Schilling Baseball Field) because a boy playing ball ran into the fence and was hurt. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

Saturday, July 30:

12:25 a.m.  – 911 caller reported a vehicle hit a fire hydrant on Spring Street. Assured Collision towed the vehicle and David O’Toole was called to shut off the water. At 1:20 a.m. the water was shut off. Hydrant was also removed.

11:36 a.m. – Woman called from her home on Lowell Mason Road to report someone was watering their lawn and have been doing it for the last seven or eight days. If this continues she will call the Medfield Water Department. Officer checked Lowell Mason Road and reported no one at the time was watering their lawn. He reported he would check back.

6:23 p.m. – Man called from Loeffler Lane to report sometime over the night, someone smashed his mailbox and post, value of $500.

7:11 p.m.  – Officer Pellegrini was reported out doing radar at North Street and Deerfield Road and issued one citation.

Sunday, July 31:

10 a.m. – Man from Harding Street called from his cell phone to request an officer at the end of Longmeadow Road. He said he parked his car there over night and someone had flattened his tires. Two of the tires were reportedly flattened. Officer spoke to caller and viewed the car.

11:12 a.m. – Desk officer reported a fire alarm came into the station for 89 Pleasant St. Lt. Thomas LaPlante reported smoke from burnt toast in Unit 1-C of 89 Pleasant St. Scene was clear.
