Medfield Police Logs: July 11-18

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, July 11:

8:10 a.m. – Bob Kennedy Jr. called to report a motor vehicle accident on Main Street by Friendly’s. Officer James O’Neil requested two Assured Collision tow trucks.

8:12 a.m. – Officer Wayne Sallale reported he was out on traffic enforcement on Green Street and Hinkley Pond and issued no citations.

8:43 a.m. – Officer James O’Neil reported he was out on traffic enforcement on High Street at Granite Street and issued no citations.

10:03 a.m. – Ambulance was requested to Bartlett Avenue for an 85-year-old woman who needed help getting up. Ambulance responded.

10:19 a.m. – Kenneth Newton walked into the station to report he found $80 on North Street.

10:56 a.m. – Animal Control officer Jennifer Shaw reported she got a call that there was a bat under the dock at the Hinkley Pond “swim pond” on Green Street. Shaw reported at 11:05 a.m. she had the bat and would try to release it when it dries off.

11:59 a.m. – Worker at Larkin’s package store reported a woman in the store requesting an ambulance. Medfield emergency response unit notified.

12:17 p.m. – Woman reported a suspicious motor vehicle blocking her driveway on Hospital Road. Officer Wayne Sallale reported no problem and the car belongs to another tenant.

12:50 p.m. – Fax received from Dr. Helena Priewski for a Section 12 for a woman. Sergeant and officer notified. Brighton and Cambridge Police received copies of the fax. Woman was not located.

1:33 p.m.  – Officer James O’Neil reported he was out with a suspicious vehicle on Noon Hill Road but later reported vehicle checked out OK.

4:56 p.m. – Motor vehicle accident involving a car and motorcycle was reported on Causeway Street. Ambulance and Medfield Fire responded. Medfield Fire requested Med Flight, which responded to the transfer station at 5:10 p.m. Walpole medics were also notified to respond.

7:18 p.m. – Two car loads of youths with possible verbal argument was reported on Jacob Cushman Way. Officer responded but vehicles were gone upon arrival.

8:41 p.m.  –Man reported a bat in his house on North Street. Animal Control responded bat was removed at 9:30 p.m.

9:10 p.m.  – Report of youths in cars making noise in street. Officer Grover reported to Indian Hill Road but vehicles were gone upon arrival.

9:25 p.m. – Man from North Street came into the station to report he thought he saw a person riding a bicycle he reported stolen last year in the area of North Street. A gray bike with pink lettering was searched for by officers but was not found.

10:01 p.m. – Unwanted person was reported at Frairy Street. Officer responded and removed the individual.

Tuesday, July 12:

7:22 a.m. – American Recovery fax over a repossess order for a BMW on Elm Street. Sergeant notified.

8:50 a.m. – Officer Wayne Sallale was out on Green Street for traffic enforcement and issued 1 verbal citation.

10:19 a.m. – Officer James O’Neil was out on traffic enforcement on Nigh Street at Granite Street and issued zero citations.

10:40 a.m. – Officer James O’Neil was out on traffic enforcement on High Street at St. Edward’s Church and issued zero citations.

12:15 p.m. – Detective John Geary reported he was out on traffic enforcement on North Street at Deerfield and issued no citations.

1:04 p.m. – AAA called to report a vehicle leaking gas at 54 Bridge St. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury was notified and reported no problem.

2:04 p.m. – Domestic violence advocate at Dedham District Court reported a 258E harassment order was issued for woman on North Street. She was being harassed by an ex-boyfriend and the court requested extra patrols and checks of this residence.

3:16 p.m. – Man called from his cell phone at Medfield State Hospital site to request Animal Control for a cat he found there that he would like removed. Animal Control officer Jennifer Shaw removed the cat.

5:53 p.m. – EMT reported a small pole fire on NSTAR pole No. 9 in the area of 19 Philip St. Desk officer notified NSTAR eta was within the hour. At 7:22 p.m. EMT reported NSTAR was on the scene.

6:08 p.m. – Woman came into the station and reported her car was broken down partly in the road in the area of 2 Farm St. Assured Collision towing notified.

9:51 p.m. – Officer Larz Anderson reported there was a motor vehicle in the parking lot with nobody around at McCarthy Park on Hospital Road.

Wednesday, July 13:

12:37 a.m.  – 911 caller reported she would like an ambulance for her boyfriend on Janes Avenue, who was not feeling well. Ambulance responded.

6:06 a.m. – Officer reported he was out on radar on North and Pine Streets and reported he issued one citation.

11:48 a.m. – Tracey Bocheio of 7 Johns Ave. called and requested to see the Animal Control officer she had a rabbit stuck in a fence. Animal Control removed the rabbit.

1:54 p.m. – Received a 209A order from Dedham District Court. The 258E Harassment Prevention Order expires on July 26.

4:18 p.m. – Caller reported 10 minutes ago she saw what she thought was the motor vehicle involved in the Amber Alert. Motor vehicle was a Ford Mustang and Sherborn Police was notified. Woman did not see a plate and motor vehicle was in back of her heading out of Sherborn.

8:12 p.m.  – Man called and stated he had an urgent need for his firearms. He was told to call in the morning and speak to the Police Chief. It was unknown where the man was calling from. At 10:57 p.m., Medway Police called to say they had the man in their station.

9:14 p.m. – Officer James O’Neil was out on a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. Vehicle operator was an unlicensed driver and issued a summons to Bellingham resident for no inspection sticker and unlicensed operation of motor vehicle because license had expired.

Thursday, July 14:

12:41 a.m. – Officer reported two vehicles parked on Hospital Road at the railroad tracks and nobody was around them.

6:13 a.m. – Officer reported he would be on radar in the Hartford Street area and issued no citations.

8:31 a.m. – Animal Control officer Jennifer Shaw reported she was going to Lawrence Circle to pick up a dog that had been running around.

9:16 a.m. – Officer Daniel Pellegrini was out doing radar at High and Granite Streets and reported zero citations.

9:25 a.m. – Woman from Knollwood Drive called to request the Animal Control officer as she has a dog on her property she would like removed.

1:31 p.m. – Officer Daniel Pellegrini reported he was out on a motor vehicle stop on Main and Pound Streets and reported the operator was driving with a suspended license. The Millis resident was issued a summons for charges of operating motor vehicle wit ha suspended license and license not in possession.

3:43 p.m. – Officer was out on North Street at Pine Street for radar and issued no citations.

3:51 p.m. – Officer reported out on Route 27 at Granite Street for radar and issued one citation.

4:20 p.m. – Caller reported she had an injured bat at the swim pond on Green Street (Hinkley Pond). Animal Control notified and at 4:40 p.m. reported she had the bat.

4:45 p.m. – 911 caller from Ledgetree Road reported his wife had something stuck in her throat and was trying to cough it up. Caller called right back after emergency response units were notified and said she was OK now and coughed the item up. Ambulance responded to the residence and reported no transport.

4:52 p.m. – Man came into the station to speak to an officer about his 209-A. He said his wife keeps trying to contact him and going by his residence on Spring Street.

8:20 p.m. – Caller reported a male subject at the door who was telling her that he was a police officer on Carol Ann Drive. He was driving a black car. Officer responded and reported this was a constable trying to serve papers to this individual at her house.

9:27 p.m. – Caller reported he had a bat flying around in his house. Animal Control was notified and reported at 10:05 p.m. the situation was clear.

11:26 p.m.  –Caller reported kids were hanging around the Wheelock School. Officer responded but kids were gone on arrival.

Friday, July 15:

1:30 a.m. – Cell caller reported she heard gunshots outside her house. Officers responded but found nothing.

8:14 a.m. – Caller reported an injured deer on School Street. Animal Control officer Jennifer Shaw notified and reported deer ran off.

8:14 a.m. – Wallet was turned in at Dunkin Donuts. Contact was made with owner’s wife. She went to the station and picked it up.

9:27 a.m. – Caller reported a child left in a motor vehicle in front of CVS.

10:52 a.m. – Mrs. McGlone of Hearthstone Drive requested radar be run for cars speeding in the area. Her dog was struck and killed the other day and the driver did not stop. She was worried about children in the area.

3:56 p.m. – Caller reported a loose older lab with a green collar behind the Wheelock School. She was going to try to get it on a leash and wait for Animal Control. Officer Shaw was enroute.

4:54 p.m. – Cell caller reported a man waving a stick at the traffic going by on Route 27 at South Street and Spring Street. Officer reported he spoke to a family member at Indian Hill Road and they would be enroute to pick the subject up.

10:15 p.m. – Caller reported she would like to speak to an officer about text messages she had been getting on her cell phone.

11:51 p.m. – Caller reported a car speeding up and down Longmeadow Road. It may have turned onto Harding Street. Officer spoke to a couple sitting in a car. No problem. No speeding cars in the area.

Saturday, July 16:

12:12 a.m. – Caller reported a car with people in it across from her house. They had been there awhile. Officer reported individual was dropping a friend off and that they will be on their way.

1:36 p.m. – Caller reported a disabled motor vehicle at West Street and North Meadows Road. Vehicle was gone on arrival.

4:42 p.m.  – Fire Department reported a man at 53 Pleasant St. broke his water pipe before shutoff. Ed Hinkley called but nobody from Water Department was available. Paul Hinkley from Highway Department reported he would handle the situation.

7:28 p.m. – Individual reported kids going into the pits off High Street behind Wheelock School almost every night and staying late lighting off fireworks. Caller believes they go into the pits early. Officer Michelle Bento and Flaherty checked the area. Officers reported gate on High Street as well as Wheelcok School were locked and unable to gain access. Officers clear.

11:44 p.m. – Unknown caller reported loud party going on for about eight hours. Officers notified and reported they spoke to the homeowner who said they will turn it down and go inside for the night.

Sunday, July 17:

6:28 a.m. – Individual from Mitchell Street called to report a truck working in the parking lot of Rockland Trust. Officer notified and Sergeant Ray Burton reported he spoke to the landscapers and they would stop for the day and do it on a work day and after 7 a.m.

9:03 a.m.  –Worker from Donut Express was in the station with a wallet that was left at the counter. There was a $105 in cash and a number of cards. Owner was from Trailside Road in Medfield but there was no phone number listed. Officer Wayne Sallale stopped by the house to see if anybody was home. At 12:38 p.m. the individual came in to the station to claim his wallet after officer Sallale left a note on his door.

10:57 a.m. – Medway Police called about a woman at Wilkens Glen Road in Medfield. Medway Police said they had a call from the state police about this woman, who was having a problem with her son. She told the state police she was on Village Street in Medway. They checked the area and nothing was found. They wanted Medfield Police to check her residence to see if she was there. Medway called back to say they found the woman and that all was OK.

11:58 a.m. – Cell caller reported a one-car motor vehicle collision on Farm Street at the railroad tracks. Officers responded and the ambulance reported no transport was necessary. The driver was transported to the station to call for a ride.

10:15 p.m. – Caller from Harding Street said there had been dogs barking for awhile now and he thinks they are at Dover Farm Road. Officer responded and reported there were two small dogs on the front lawn and they did not start barking until he pulled up to the house. A phone message was left at the residence.

Monday, July 18:

8:56 a.m. – Caller reported a blue car pulled into her driveway then backed out and is now in the turn around next to her house at High Street. She would like this checked out. Officer reported nobody was around.
