Medfield Police Logs: August 2-9 -- Breaking & Entering, Woman Laying in Road, Damaged Mailboxes

Here's a look at the police blotter for August 2 through 9. Tune in on Tuesday for August 10 through 17.

Thursday, Aug. 2

8:03 a.m. - Traffic enforcement on North Street near Deerfield. Three citations issued.

12:22 p.m. - Motor vehicle accident on Main Street.

2:08 p.m. - 911 caller reported a missing child from her Pine Street home. All cars notified. The child was located.

8:35 p.m. - South Street caller wanted to talk to the animal control officer about her cat.

Friday, Aug. 3

12:15 a.m. - Caller reported mischief at his Fairview Court home.  Caller said his house was egged during the previous week and then, on Aug. 3, someone had put "all kinds of signs" on his lawn. 

1 a.m. - Several callers reported vandalism to mailboxes damaged on Philip, Nebo and Foundry Streets.

5:48 a.m - Caller reported a female lying in the middle of Hatters Hill Road who was very incoherent and not making any sense. Police took the woman to her house.

10:29 a.m. - Traffic enforcement on Harding Street at Longmeadow.  1 citation issued.

5:17 p.m. - Motor vehicle accident at South Street and Route 27.

Saturday, Aug. 4

Early morning hours - Numerous callers reported mailbox damage on Hatters Hill Road, Vine Brook Road, Cheney Pond Road, Millbrook Road, Wood End Lane.

5:45 p.m. - Residents of Evergreen Way reported power was out on street.

9:09 p.m. - Flintlocke Lane resident called to report a dog barking.  Police located the dog and spoke with the dog sitter who took the animal inside. 

11:55 p.m. - Country Way resident complained about noise in the area. Police discovered a party at the end of Country Way. 

Sunday, Aug. 5 

Police helped with church traffic at 8:09 a.m., 9:10 a.m., 10:01 a.m., and 12:12 p.m. 

6:59 p.m. - Pleasant Street caller reported a tree down on his and another car in the parking lot of 89 Pleasant Street. 

9:10 p.m. - Colonial Road 911 caller reported what sounded like gunshots in the area.  Unfounded.

Monday, August 6

9:52 a.m. - Caller reported a street sign for Gun Hill Road was found on Millbrook Road.

1:23 p.m. - Burglary and B&E.  A 51-year old South Street man was arrested and charged with breaking and entering daytime for felony, larceny of property over $250, malicious destruction of property over $250, larceny under $250.

3:22 p.m. - Motor vehicle accident at Citizens Bank on Main Street.

4:07 p.m. - Motor vehicle collision with no personal injury at Route 109 and Hartford Street. 

Tuesday, Aug. 7 

5 a.m. - Callers reported trees down on Orchard Street near Niantic. 

7:15 a.m. - Motor vehicle accident with property damage on Spring Street.

8:12 a.m. - Vandalism at Wheelock School with window damage.  Police said "it looks like a hard ball went through it. 

11:07 a.m. - Motor vehicle accident in Bank of America parking lot.

12:08 p.m. - Report of suspicious activity on Frairy Street.  Caller reported kids on the railroad tracks by Frairy Street.

12:38 p.m. - A Woodridge Road resident reported a black lab dog missing.

4:06 p.m. - Traffic enforcement on South Street near Noon Hill Road. 1 citation issued.

6:30 p.m. - Motor vehicle stop on Spring Street resulted in a 54-year-old man being charged with operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license for OUI, and license not in possession. 

Wednesday, Aug. 8 

11:33 a.m. - Report of mailbox damage on Cross Street.

2:58 p.m. - Caller reported a dog barking all day near Nebo Street and Ledgetree Road.  The Animal Control Officer left a note on the door.

8:13 p.m. - The Animal Control Officer investigated a report of a bat on Paddock Lane.

9:52 p.m. - A caller near Shaw's reported their car had been hit by eggs while driving on Route 109.

Thursday, Aug. 9

5:49 a.m. - Traffic enforcement on South Street and Curve Streets. No citations issued.

7:31 a.m. - A South Street man was arrested at his house and taken to Dedham District Court. 

11:17 a.m. - A South Street traffic stop resulted in a verbal warning. Police pulled over a tractor from Sherborn without license plates. The driver agreed to pull off the road until the plates were put on. 

11:32 a.m. - A Hale Place resident reported a continuing problem in the neighborhood of Hale Place and South Streets.

7:17 p.m. - An Elm Street resident walked into the station to report fraud after someone tried to open an account in his name.

7:57 p.m. - Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area.  A Needham police officer reported a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of 91 Pleasant Street where he said the sole purpose was the selling of drugs.  A second vehicle pulled into the lot also.  The cars had left before police arrived. Caller said this was an ongoing problem. 

8:11 p.m. - An Erik Road resident reported she found a dog at Rocky Woods and brought it home with her.  The Animal Control Officer was notified.

9:50 p.m. - A Liberty Road caller reported suspicious activity after three teenage boys rang her doorbell and three things at her house.
