Medfield Police Logs: Aug. 8-15

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, Aug. 8:

5:35 a.m. – Officer reported was out on traffic enforcement on Rocky Lane and issued one citation.

8:35 a.m.  – Caller reported a small oil spill on Main Street near Subway and Speedy Dry was requested.

8:40 a.m. - Caller requested the return of the ambulance for his wife on Main Street. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

9:39 a.m. – Caller reported Verizon was working in the area of Eastmount Road. There were also people with signs in the area but they were reportedly not harassing the workers. People holding signs were just standing around holding their signs and were not on private property.

10:18 a.m. – Caller reported they had a table outside of Bank of America on Main Street and a man came by and tore up one of their signs.

11:06 a.m. – Detective Geary was out on an investigation.

11:22 a.m. - Received a 911 hang-up on Pleasant Street. On call back, homeowner said they had no knowledge of call. Officer checked residence and reported it was accidental.

3:20 p.m. – Caller reported his car was rear-ended on Route 27 near the center of town. The truck that hit him was a black Ford F250 heading towards Millis. Sherborn Police stopped the truck on Route 27 near Forest Street. Caller reported minor damage to his car and cannot stop by the station to speak to an officer at the time of the cal. Officer O’Neil reported he had individual’s information and would call the man.

4:02 p.m. – Officer reported the lights were flashing at the railroad crossing on Dale Street with no train. CSX was notified and at 7:03 p.m., CSX called to report the crossing was fixed.

7:30 p.m. – Caller reported from Rte. 109 on Main Street that a silver SUV passed her and then slammed on the breaks. Said the driver was driving “very” aggressively. Officer reported vehicle was gone on arrival.

8:04 p.m. – Caller from Bridlefield Lane reported a white Ford van followed her son around the neighborhood while he was walking the dog. The son did not get a plate number. Officer was enroute to speak to caller. Officer reported the subject was a 40 to 50 year-old man with a gray, scruffy beard. He’s balding and was wearing sunglasses. The van had no windows on the side or rear of the van. Walpole, Millis and Norfolk Police were notified of the description.

9 p.m. – Caller reported the light was on at Rocky Woods and it looked like there was somebody inside the ranger’s booth in the parking lot. Officer responded and reported no one was around.

Tuesday, Aug. 9:

5:43 a.m. – Officer reported he was out doing radar on Rocky Lane and issued no citations.

5:55 a.m. – Two people came into the station reporting items were on the railroad tracks on Dale Street. Officer reported items were removed to the side of the tracks.

8:26 a.m.  – Officer reported he was on a house check on Granite Street and a white van was seen in the area. Van was up and down the street several times. Appeared to be checking the houses and several people were reported in the van. Officer reported house checked out.

10:16 a.m. – Caller reported a large tree branch was down across the road at Pine Street. Tree Department notified.

11:11 a.m. – Sergeant Ray Burton reported vandalism on the railroad tracks on Dale Street.

2:29 p.m. – Cell caller reported a stray dog on Brook Street. Animal Control notified.

5:26 p.m. – Individual came into the station to report a low hanging wire on North Street just past Winter Street. Fire Department notified. Wire was removed to the side of the road. Comcast was notified.

7:14 p.m. – Caller reported she was having a problem with her neighbor at Pleasant Street. She requested to see an officer, who reported the dispute was over a parking spot. Officer spoke to both parties and issue was resolved.

Wednesday, Aug. 10:

5:57 a.m. – Individual came into the station to report a metal plate on the railroad tracks again on Dale Street. Officer reported he removed the items from the area of the tracks.

6:23 a.m.  – Woman from Randy’s Automotive reported an $81 drive-off headed towards Millis. Officer responded to Randy’s to speak to the clerk.

9:30 a.m.  – Individual from North Street called to report some time between 11 a.m. and noon on Tuesday that someone cut her cable wire to her house. She requested an “extra eye” in the area.

10:03 a.m.  – Woman from Colonial Road called to request Animal Control for a bird that was in her house. Animal Control officer responded.

10:26 a.m. – Desk officer from Millis Police called to request mutual aid by Medfield ambulance for a residence on Main Street as an individual there is complaining of chest pains. Medfield ambulance responded and transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

11:17 a.m. – Individual from Spring Street in Millis came into the station to speak to an officer about a past larceny. No report was filed.

3:30 p.m. – U.S. Marshals called to report they will be doing training at Medfield State Hospital every Thursday for the next two months. When the Marshals are training they will call Medfield Police.

4:19 p.m. – Officer reported he was out doing radar on South Street at Rocky Lane and issued two verbal warnings.

4:58 p.m. – Officer reported he was out on a motor vehicle stop on North Meadows Road by the Medfield Police firing range and requested Assured Collision towing for the vehicle. A 28-year-old Framingham individual was issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle without a license and speeding.

Thursday, Aug. 11:

7:09 a.m. – Caller from Pleasant Court reported two large dumpsters in the road. Officer reported there was only one dumpster in the road and it looked like the dumpsters were being moved around.

9:22 a.m. – Officer was on traffic enforcement on West Street and issued two citations.

1:08 p.m. – Caller reported she had two bats in her house on North Street. Animal Control notified and removed the bats.

1:46 p.m. – Caller reported a stray dog on Blacksmith Drive. Animal Control notified and reported the dog belongs on Farm Street.

8:08 p.m. – “Agitated” caller reported dirt bikes on the conservation land behind the Wheelock School. He said he was going back to talk to them and requested an officer. Sergeant Wilhelmi reported he spoke with caller and officer checked area and reported he was unable to locate dirt bikes.

8:38 p.m.  – Caller from Westview Road reported she just returned home and there was a dark Sedan was parked on Westview Road and the vehicle took off without lights on as she was getting home. Officer checked the area. Station received a second call from the woman saying she received two missed calls at her home number while she was out, one at 8:02 p.m. and the other 8:22 p.m. She wanted to speak to an officer.

Friday, Aug. 12:

6:15 a.m. – Individual came into the station with an injured bird. Animal Control notified.

9:21 a.m. – Woman from Colonial Road called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for her husband who had passed out and was not breathing. Officer notified paramedics, EMT enroute. Westwood paramedics and ambulance responded. No transport was needed.

12:04 p.m. – Woman from Rocky Lane called emergency 911 to report her 23-year-old son threw her down onto the floor. She said she wasn’t hurt but would the police to remove her son from the house. Father called emergency 911 to cancel the police but desk officer told man police would be there in two minutes. Officers reported peace was restored and son left the house.

1:45 p.m. – Individual from Stagecoach Road requested to speak with Animal Control because a dog bit her and her dog.

2 p.m.  – Man from Charlesdale Road called to see Animal Control because his dog was sprayed by a skunk and the skunk will not leave his backyard. Animal Control put the skunk down.

3:16 p.m. – Caller reported he found a boat under a tree on the Charles River with water in it. Desk officer transferred him to Sherborn Police.

5:23 p.m. – Caller reported her car was rear-ended in front of her house on High Street.

6:39 p.m. – Caller from Village Pizza reported he had a subject there who he wanted removed from the shop. Officer responded and reported individual was removed from the pizza shop and told not to return.

10:25 p.m. – Caller reported she had a small dog that she found walking down Spring Street. Animal Control notified.

Saturday, Aug. 13:

2:40 p.m. – Caller requested the ambulance for his mother at Lawrence Circle.

2:57 p.m. – Caller reported stop sign missing at Causeway and Orchard Streets. Highway Department would be notified Monday.

5:08 p.m. – Officer was on traffic enforcement on Bridge Street and issued one citation.

6:45 p.m. – Caller reported dirt bikes in the sand pits on Elm Street.

Sunday, Aug. 14:

12:08 a.m. – Caller reported a loud party on Deerfield Road. Caller did not want to leave his name. Officer notified and reported music at party was turned down and the party would be going inside.

1:49 p.m.  – Caller requested an officer for a family disturbance on Clayton Street. Officer reported woman would be staying at Adams Street for the night.

4:03 p.m. – Caller reported he was at the batting cage at Metacomet Park and there was a crow stuck in the netting. Animal Control notified.

4:52 p.m. – Fire Department reported they had a call from South Street for a stray dog and wanted Animal Control notified.

5:52 p.m. – Officer was out on Pound Street doing radar and issued one citation.

Monday, Aug. 15:

6 a.m. – Man reported his daughter’s dog ran off and it had been gone since Sunday afternoon. The dog was a Cocker Spaniel. Message was left for Animal Control.

8:13 a.m. – Officer issued a citation on a motor vehicle stop on Pleasant Street.

8:29 a.m. – Officer issued one citation during motor vehicle stop on Oak Street.

8:41 a.m. - Officer issued one citation on a motor vehicle stop on Pleasant Street.

9:10 a.m. – Man came into the station to report a tree limb fell and hit his vehicle on Hartford Street and damage was done. Officer viewed damage and spoke to individual.

11:51 a.m. – Ambulance was dispatched to Pine Grove Road for a medical. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital.
