Medfield Police Logs: Aug. 15-22

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, Aug. 15:

6 a.m. – Man reported his daughter’s dog ran off and it had been gone since Sunday afternoon. The dog was a Cocker Spaniel. Message was left for Animal Control.

8:13 a.m. – Officer issued a citation on a motor vehicle stop on Pleasant Street.

8:29 a.m. – Officer issued one citation during motor vehicle stop on Oak Street.

8:41 a.m. - Officer issued one citation on a motor vehicle stop on Pleasant Street.

9:10 a.m. – Man came into the station to report a tree limb fell and hit his vehicle on Hartford Street and damage was done. Officer viewed damage and spoke to individual.

11:51 a.m. – Ambulance was dispatched to Pine Grove Road for a medical. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital.

3:20 p.m. – Individual came into the station from Homestead Drive to report threatening phone calls. Sergeant Mayer spoke to individual.

3:49 p.m.  – Caller reported a tree down on Causeway Street. Ed Hinkley notified and he reported he would handle. Later reported tree was removed.

5:04 p.m. – Caller reported a branch on the wires near Dunkin Donuts and Shaw’s and it was smoking. Officer and emergency unit responded and reported nothing was found.

Tuesday, Aug. 16:

9:28 a.m. – Individual from Main Street came in to the station and spoke to officer Wayne Sallale regarding fraud.

11:46 a.m. – Woman came into the station from Pleasant Court to report her mother had fallen and needs help getting up. Ambulance notified.

12:05 p.m. – Motor vehicle was leaking fluid on Dale Street and road was closed while cleanup takes place.

1:37 p.m.  – Caller requested an ambulance for her grandmother at Woodfall Road. Ambulance was enroute to Needham with patient.

2:14 p.m. – Assured Collision towing reported it was at a South Street residence to repossess a motor vehicle for non-payment.

4:43 p.m. – Man called to report a young boy walking up and down the roof of the Park Street station off of Park Street. Officer Grover checked the roof and area with no luck.

6:39 p.m. - Woman called from the Thomas Upton House on 519 Main St. to request the ambulance for an 83-year-old woman who was having difficulty breathing. Ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital at 7:04 p.m.

9:10 p.m. – Woman called from Loeffler Lane to report a strong, suspicious smell coming into her house from the outside. EMT was notified and enroute with ambulance to check it out. EMT reported they had checked the area with no luck.

10:08 p.m. – Man from Cottage Street called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for his father, who may have had a heart attack. He was down on the floor at the time of the call. Ambulance transported to Norwood Hospital with patient at 10:33 p.m.

10:50 p.m. – Individual from South Street called to report a loud party going on all day. Officer notified and reported he spoke to the owner and they will bring it in for the night.

Wednesday, Aug. 17:

4:58 a.m. – Woman called emergency 911 and hung up. On call back from desk officer, woman said she dialed by accident but then changed her mind and said she needed some oxygen. Officer reported no transport was necessary.

5:21 a.m. – Caller reported branches in the road on Causeway Street Officer reported nothing was found.

6:13 a.m. – Individual from Walden Court called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for help up.

9:15 a.m. – Woman from Kettle Pond Way called to request the Animal Control officer. Woman had a bird in her chimney and Animal Control officer had no luck in removing bird.

1:54 p.m.  – Woman called from her cell phone on North Street by Deerfield Drive to request some help with her son, who had a bee sting. EMT responded and reported no transport was necessary.

1:59 p.m. – Man called from his cell phone on North Street to request an officer because a woman just ran into the back of his car. He reported no personal injury. Officer helped with paperwork and was clear. No report was needed.

2:10 p.m. – Man from Pine Street called to request Animal Control because he has a flying squirrel in his house and would like it removed. Animal Control reported squirrel was removed.

6:52 p.m. – Woman called from High Street to request an officer at her house for an unwanted person on her property from Dedham. Officers spoke with individual and reported the unwanted individual was gone upon arrival. There was no problem at the time of arrival.

Thursday, Aug. 18:

7:49 a.m. – Man called form his cell phone at Philip Street to request an officer because some of his tools were stolen from the job site on Philip Street. Officer Grover spoke with man and would write a report.

10:53 a.m. – Caller requested assistance at Bartlett Avenue as her mother had fallen and needed help getting up. Fire Department notified and assistance was provided.

1:41 p.m. – Caller from Frairy Street reported a party going on and the cars were parked on both sides of the street. Others were unable to go through. Officer spoke to a resident, who said they would move the cars to one side of the road.

7:03 p.m. – Millis Police called to request the ambulance for Irving Street. Ambulance transported patient to Natick.

8:42 p.m.  – Man from Park Street reported his neighbor was doing construction. Officer notified and reported he spoke to the party and they would stop working for the night.

9:42 p.m. – Caller from Tamarack Road reported she is having a problem with her 13-year-old son, who was throwing things. Officer responded and reported peace was restored.

Friday, Aug. 19:

9:39 a.m. – Officer Michelle Bento reported she was out doing radar on Hartford Street and issued no citations.

12:06 p.m. – Medfield desk officer received a call from Millis Police reporting a woman from Village street in Millis said a man driving a white landscape truck towing an orange trailer stopped in front of her house and stole two trash barrels at the end of her driveway and drove off, headed towards Medfield. Officer Grover reported he checked the area with no luck.

1:04 p.m. – Officer Grover reported he was out doing radar on Spring Street by Boiling Street and issued two verbal warnings.

1:40 p.m. – Sergeant Wilhelmi was on traffic enforcement on Main and Pound Streets and reported two citations.

7:16 p.m. – Resident of the apartments across from Lord’s on Main Street called to complain about people attending meetings at the Baptist Church parking in the private lot. She will call the church and ask them to speak to the people holding the meeting regarding the parking.

8:30 p.m. – Caller from Janes Avenue reported threatening telephone calls.

Saturday, Aug. 20:

8:43 a.m. – Multiple calls came in about a tree and wires down on North Street. NSTAR was notified and Dover Police was notified to block Farm Street. Detail men were called to the scene. A pole was shattered with wires down. Verizon and Comcast notified. Detours were set up and the roads were closed.

4:51 p.m. – Individual came into the station with a small white dog that she found on Winter Street. Animal Control was notified and she would be enroute. The dog’s owner later came into the station to claim the dog and Animal Control was cancelled.

6:13 p.m. – Officer reported out doing radar on West Street and issued a written warning.

8:42 p.m. – Woman called to report she has two dogs in her car that belong to 23 Dover Farm Rd. She could not reach anybody at that residence and an officer was enroute to assist her. Officer reported the front door was open but nobody was home. Officer put dogs in the house.

9:32 p.m.  – Caller reported kids in the parking lot next to her house on North Street. She requested they be “checked out.” Officer spoke to the caller and the kids and said they would keep the noise down.

Sunday, Aug. 21:

7:21 a.m. – Caller requested ambulance for her daughter at South Street. Ambulance enroute with patient to Norwood Hospital.

9:04 p.m. – Man reported vandalism to the Westwood Gun Club sign on Main Street at Trailside Road. Spoke to officer about it and she reported it was too dark to see any damage.

Monday, Aug. 22:

8:29 a.m. – Man called again to report sometime Friday, someone damaged the sign for the Westwood Gun Club off of Trailside Road. Value of the sign is around $300.
