Medfield Police Logs: Aug. 1-8

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, Aug. 1:

8:02 a.m. – Woman from Longmeadow Road called and requested to see the Animal Control officer because of a squirrel was in her front yard by a large tree and she wanted it removed. Officer removed squirrel.

9:30 a.m. – Officer Larz Anderson was out on the driveway to the river off of North Meadows Road by the Sherborn town line with a truckload of trash that belonged to a Framingham man, who said he would call a woman to pick up the trash.

4:14 p.m.  – Caller reported a truck pulled his Verizon line on Granite Street. Line was hanging low and he contacted Verizon. They said someone would respond in the morning.

5:18 p.m. – Officer O’Neil reported he was out on a motor vehicle stop on Philip Street and issued a written warning.

6:08 p.m. – Woman called to report she got home and smelled smoke in her house. Medfield Fire Department was notified and reported house was clear.

Tuesday, Aug. 2:

1:32 a.m.  –Caller reported her smoke alarms were going off in her Adams Street home. There was no fire or smoke. Scene was cleared.

7:36 a.m.  – Caller from North Street reported he had thrown a loaded 38 pistol into the Charles River several years ago but would not give the location.

8:09 a.m.  – Officer Sallale was out on a motor vehicle stop on Adams Street and issued a written warning.

10:32 a.m.  – Officer Sallale was out on a motor vehicle stop on South Street and issued a citation.

8 p.m. – Caller reported his neighbor’s dog was barking again and that it was an ongoing problem. The house is on Cross Street off Elm Street. Officer spoke to homeowner at Cross Street. The dog would brought in.

10:43 p.m.  – Caller reported a car in the middle of the road on South and Grist Mill Streets. Car was reportedly out of gas. Assured Collision towing responded.

Wednesday, Aug. 3:

8:10 a.m. – Caller reported sometime Tuesday night, someone stole two cases of beer from his motor vehicle on Nebo Street. The vehicle was not locked and the caller wanted it noted but did not want to speak to an officer.

8:11 a.m.  –Caller reported sometime Tuesday someone stole their gray trash can on South Street. The can was plastic with a black lid and wanted it noted.

8:18 a.m. – Caller requested ambulance for her father on Wheelwright Road and was transported to Needham.

8:57 a.m.  – Millis Police called to request a Medfield detective to their CVS.

9:10 a.m. – Officer Sallale requested the Animal Control officer for a stray dog on South Street. Woman found the dog walking up the street.

9:21 a.m. – Caller from Wilkins Glen Road said she believed someone was in her apartment and requested an officer.

12:01 p.m.  –  Caller reported from Rhododendron Road that her son had a bat in his room. Animal Control officer removed the bat.

6:49 p.m.  – Caller reported he had a football player with a possible dislocated knee at the Medfield High School football field on Pound Street. Ambulance responded but reported no transport.

11:06 p.m.  – Caller reported seeing a yellow lab dog walking from Route 109 near the Dover town line on Main Street. Officer notified but reported gone on arrival.

Thursday, Aug. 4:

7:37 a.m.  – Woman came into the station from Pine Street to report some time Wednesday night someone egged her car. She wanted it noted.

7:51 a.m.  – Sergeant Ray Burton reported a motor vehicle into the Dunkin’ Donuts building on Main Street. Ambulance requested but no transport was necessary.

11:58 a.m. – Caller from Green Street reported a dog dragging a leash. Animal Control notified.

2:15 p.m. – Caller reported a Golden Retriever was in a hot car in the parking lot of Papa Ginos on North Meadows Road. Animal Control notified but reported vehicle and dog were gone on arrival.

7:32 a.m.  – Resident from Haven Road reported a dirt bike in the fields.

8:04 p.m. – Individual came into the station to report a breaking and entering from property. Officer Larz Anderson investigated.

8:27 p.m. – Report of a man screaming, possible disabled or mentally ill, causing a disturbance at Medfield Commons on Main Street.

Friday, Aug. 5:

3:23 a.m. – Man from Tannery Drive called to report he heard a loud explosion coming from the cemetery. Officer notified but reported he found nothing.

3:25 a.m. – Millis Police called to request an ambulance at Rockville Meadows for a man with a heart or lung problem. Ambulance transported patient to Natick.

6:21 a.m. – Officer Christine DiNatale reported on traffic enforcement on Rocky Lane that she issued no citations.

7:48 a.m. – Officer Larz Anderson reported he was out doing radar on Rocky Lane and Granite Street and issued one verbal warning.

8:54 a.m. – Sergeant John Wilhelmi reported he was on traffic enforcement on Main and Pound Streets and issued one citation.

10:35 a.m. – Man from Frairy Street called and requested to see an officer because he and his wife heard a suspicious noise out of their bedroom window Friday morning. Man said it may have been fireworks. Sergeant Ray Burton spoke with the man and checked the area around his house and bedroom window. There was no damage or problem and nothing found around the house.

1:49 p.m. – Officer Larz Anderson was on traffic enforcement on Main and Pound Streets and issued two citations.

2:06 p.m.  – Woman called from her cell phone on Janes Avenue to report a wire was hanging down. EMT reported they tied the cable up.

6:03 p.m. – Individual called from Wilkens Glen Road to report on of the neighbor’s boyfriend’s was leaving six propane tanks by a dumpster. Officer Larz Anderson spoke with the caller and the neighbor about the six propane tanks. The woman said she would call her boyfriend and he would remove the tanks as soon as possible.

Saturday, Aug. 6:

12:04 a.m. – Officer Daniel Pellegrini was out with a motor vehicle on Main Street and issued a verbal warning for headlights.

6:05 a.m. – Officer Pellegrini was out with a motor vehicle on North Street with no plates.

8:52 a.m. – Desk officer received an emergency 911 hang up call from a home on Clayton Street. Desk officer called back with no luck. Officer Anderson responded to scene and reported homeowners did not know what happened to the phone and will be speaking to him about larceny by check involving their daughter.

3:45 p.m. – Officer Pellegrini was out doing radar on North Street and Deerfield Drive and reported two citations.

6:30 p.m. – Officer Pellegrini reported he was out with a motor vehicle stop on Main Street, in front of Subway and reported the operator’s driver’s license was suspended. Officer requested Assured Collision towing for the vehicle and issued a summons to a 27-year-old Boston resident for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

7:01 p.m.  – Officer O’Neil reported he was out on a motor vehicle stop on North Meadows Road by the Medfield Transfer Station and reported the operator’s license was suspended. Officer requested Assured Collision towing for the vehicle. The 52-year-old Ashland resident was issued a summons for marked lanes violation and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

9:54 p.m. – Individual from Planting Field road reported when they were away between July 21 and July 24, someone walked into her house through an unlocked door and stole $100 from a men’s wallet that was sitting on the table in the house. Officer Geary spoke with the woman.

10:17 p.m.  – Caller reported a loud party on Eastmount Road. Officer reported it was an adult party and they will turn down their music.

Sunday, Aug. 7:

7:16 a.m. – Edward Hinkley of the Medfield Water Department came into the station to report he had no power to the water pumping station on High Street. The fuse was tripped on NSTAR pole 8/32. NSTAR was notified and responded.

10:08 a.m. – EMT reported no power in the area of South and Elm Streets. NSTAR notified.

3:52 p.m. – Woman called from Wilkens Glen Road to report someone spray-painted her motor vehicle. Officer spoke to the caller and viewed the damage.

Monday, Aug. 8:

5:35 a.m. – Officer reported was out on traffic enforcement on Rocky Lane and issued one citation.

8:35 a.m.  – Caller reported a small oil spill on Main Street near Subway and Speedy Dry was requested.

8:40 a.m. - Caller requested the return of the ambulance for his wife on Main Street. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.
