Medfield Police Logs, April 11 – April 17

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs.

Monday, April 11:

6:36 a.m. – Caller at South and Main Streets reported while she was driving on Main Street she was struck. Other driver reportedly got out, looked at the motor vehicle and then drove off. Woman said she did not get plate number and that she would come into the police station for an inspection of her motor vehicle. Officer Flaherty spoke to the caller and viewed the damage.

6:53 a.m. – Caller reported a car fire in the parking lot of Will’s Hardware. Fire alarm struck and Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury responded to scene on West Street. Fire was in the bed of a pickup truck and fire was put out.

8:39 a.m. – Officer Flaherty was on radar at Knollwood Road.

10:18 a.m. – Caller at North Street requested ambulance for himself. Ambulance was enroute to Natick L Morse Hospital.

12:23 p.m. – Millis Police called to report an erratic operator and the reporting party stated the vehicle is described as an older gold sports utility vehicle. The operator was a white male in his early 20s. The operator was texting while driving and crossing over the double solid lines. Officer Flaherty checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

1:02 p.m. – Woman came into the station to report there was a skunk walking around her house at Castle Ave. Animal Control notified and responded.

1:12 p.m. – Oil truck driver called to report he had halted at the railroad tracks at West Street and while he was there, a motor vehicle went right around him. Driver wanted it noted.

2:48 p.m. – Caller reported she thinks she has a sick skunk at Prentiss Place. Animal Control notified and would handle the situation.

3:04 p.m. – Cell caller reported the railroad lights are going off on West Street with no train. Officer reported lights were activated at West Street but are activated at the Hospital Road crossing. At 3:40 p.m. the bus company reported a bus is stuck at the tracks and need an officer to cross them.

5:10 p.m. – Caller reported an injured fox in the area of Monks Way. Animal Control notified.

6:07 p.m. – Caller reported young kids riding in the back of a gray pickup truck on Harding Street. Officer notified.

6:12 p.m. – Cell caller reported a motor vehicle collision on Route 27 and Garry Drive near High Street. Unknown personal injuries sustained. Officers responded and one wrecker was needed on the scene.

8:19 p.m. – Officer reported he would like an ambulance and another car for a male subject with possible heroin OD in front of Town Hall on Main Street. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

Tuesday, April 12:

8:33 a.m. – Resident on Philip Street reported a male in his 60s walking down Philip Street towards South Street with no shoes on. Officer responded.

8:46 a.m. – Motor vehicle complaint on South Street. State Police report they received a cell call for a report of a black SUV passing cars on South Street. Officer responded but vehicle was gone on arrival.

11 a.m. – Cub Scouts will be on clean up for Saturday, April 16 from 9 a.m. to noon in several locations around town.

11:18 a.m. – Caller reported parking complaint on Granite Street near High Street. Officer responded and reported no problem.

11:27 a.m. – Alarm company at 6 Acorn Circle reported fire alarm going off. Responding units reported accidental alarm by worker.

12:58 p.m. – Abandoned 911 call at 21 Bridge St. Resident reported accidental call during call back. Officer responded and confirmed accidental.

3:23 p.m. – Unknown female caller from Dale Street School requested an ambulance for a child who was hurt in the gym. Ambulance responded and was enroute with the patient at 3:36 p.m. to Norwood Hospital.

Wednesday, April 13:

10:34 a.m. – Woman called from 89 Pleasant St. to request an officer as she would like to pick up some of her belongings at the address. Her boyfriend would not give the belongings to her. Officer O’Neil reported a lot of noise coming from the address and Sergeants Wilhelmi and Burton were enroute to the address at 10:38 a.m. Officers were clear at 10:43 a.m. and the woman had collected her belongings and was on her way home.

11:20 a.m. – Man from 89 Pleasant St. came into the station to report when woman came to pick up her belongings she stole his cell phone, wallet, money and credit cards and his set of keys “to everything he owns.” The woman, Tiffany Dana of Taunton, was issued a summons for Larceny over $250.

12:37 p.m.  – George Mellen called from his cell phone to request the Medfield Fire Department in the area of the Medfield Sunoco Gas Station at 212 Main St. and Hartford Street for a fuel oil spill. He stated the large fuel spill was running down Main Street. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury was out with the spill in the parking lot of the Medfield Sunoco gas station and reported Medfield Fire will take care of the spill and no police would be needed.

12:48 p.m. – Desk officer from the Norfolk Police Department placed a be on the lookout call for a vehicle possibly used during a breaking and entering in their town. Officer Larz Anderson reported the pickup truck is now parked in the driveway of  119 South St. Medfield Desk Officer reported to Norfolk Police and they were enroute. Norfolk Police placed Kurt G Mozer under arrest for breaking and entering that took place in Norfolk and were enroute to Norfolk Police Department.

3:39 p.m. – Outside fire alarm came into the station for Wilkens Glen buildings 6 through 10. Alarm was accidental and all parties were clear.

7:45 p.m. – EMT Rogers reported they were enroute with the ambulance to Pleasant Street for a party there having a reaction from peanuts. Desk office had no luck with Westwood paramedics. Walpole paramedics notified and were enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

Thursday, April 14:

8:35 a.m. – Charles Murray called from the CVS store at 555 Main St. to request an officer as he was just in a minor motor vehicle crash on Main and Spring Streets with no personal injuries sustained. The two vehicles involved were parked in the parking lot of CVS. Officer Daniel Pellegrini responded and filed a report.

9:52 a.m.  –Hernan V Ulloa called from his cell phone to request an officer in the parking lot of Friendly’s as Ulloa was just in a minor motor vehicle crash with no personal injury at Main Street and North Meadows Road. Officer Pellegrini said there was minor damage and a report was not necessary.

2:18 p.m. – Charles Brooks called from his cell phone at 58 Harding St. to request an officer as someone has stolen the copper pipe from inside his house.

3:37 p.m. – Caller via 911 from Johns Avenue reported black smoke coming from her oven. She was trying to clean it and black smoke was coming from the oven. Alarm sounded for possible oven fire. Officers responded and scene was cleared.

6:13 p.m. – Cell caller reported somebody backed into his car on Sewall Court.

7:53 p.m. – Caller reported a bird was in her house at Overfield Drive. Desk officer notified Animal Control officer.

8:05 p.m. – Caller reported her son called her to tell her a deer was struc by Philip Street and Fairview Road. Officer reported location of deer is at Philip and Fairview. Deer was hurt and in the road. Officer reported one round to put down the deer. Highway Department notified to pickup the deer. Animal Control notified as well.

10:50 p.m. – 911 caller reported she would like an ambulance for her husband who was having trouble breathing at Green Street.

Friday, April 15:

3:37 a.m. – Norfolk Police called for a fire truck to their station for station coverage.

5:30 a.m. – Caller reported from Adams Street that he went to go to work and there was a dead deer in the back of his pickup truck. He had no idea how it got there. Highway Department was notified and sent a man down to pick it up.

7:44 a.m. – Unknown female caller requested an officer check on a man that may be sleeping in a red car across from Kingsbury’s Pond on Spring Street. Officer Grover spoke with motor vehicle operator and he had a dead battery. AAA was on the way to assist him.

8:19 a.m.- Unknown male called from his cell phone on Pleasant Street to report he was out with a vehicle parked in front of Metacomet Park and was running with no one around. Owner said car belongs to one of the students at Medfield High School. Student left the keys in the car and running and then went to school. The car was turned off and the keys were returned to the operator at high school.

8:23 a.m. – Unknown male called from his home on Pederzini Drive to report a low hanging wire at the corner of Pederzini Drive and Main Street. Medfield Fire Chief William Kingsbury cut the wire as high as he could.

9:09 a.m. – Individual from North Street called emergency 911 to request an ambulance for himself. He would like to go to the hospital. Patient transported to Norwood Hospital.

7:41 p.m. – Caller requested ambulance for his wife. Ambulance was enroute to Newton Wellesley Hospital.

7:42 p.m. – Caller reported she hit a deer on Hartford Street. She did not know if the deer was alive. Officer responded but could not find deer upon arrival.

Saturday, April 16:

9:01 a.m. – Caller reported a fire in the cellar of a residence at Rocky Lane. Alarm sounded. Fire was caused by heat lamp and Medfield Fire put it out. Smoke condition in the house.

11:06 a.m. – Man in the station with a camper plate that he found on his lawn.

2:16 p.m. – Subject in the station spoke to officer Bento in the morning while parked at the Nail Salon that somebody hit her motor vehicle. Officer Bento viewed the damage.

Sunday, April 17:

4:15 a.m. – Man from 140 High St. called to report there was a Peter Pan bus parked on High Street at the turn around and it needed to be moved.

5:10 a.m. – Man from Lowell Mason Road reported two men walking around a house down the street. He reported when they saw him they got back into their vehicle. Officer notified.

6:06 a.m. – Man from 12 Hearthstone Dr. reported a transformer blew in front of his house. Officer and NSTAR notified. Officer reported it was pole four on Nebo Street.

12:44 p.m. – Caller reported there had been an alarm going off in the area of Dover Farm Road since 8 a.m. Medfield Police and Fire responded and said the building was secure.

1:08 p.m. – Caller reported a motor vehicle accident and requested a tow at North Meadows Road. The ambulance notified and was enroute to Framingham. Incident report was filed.

2:15 p.m. – Woman came into the station with an Apple iPhone she found on Green Street. Phone had been run over and the front piece smashed.

3:01 p.m. – Caller reported at Wight Street she had smoke and sparks coming from a socket in the wall. She could not see any fire but there was smoke. Units responded but and reported it was a power strip that shorted out.
